He was such a nervous nelly as a youngster and was given that nickname... I felt like it needed a last name as well and my little sister jokingly suggested that. And well, it stuck 😂 we meant it endearingly!

Oh, PRECIOUS PIGGY!! Do you give them Medicam for pain? I have 2 seniors, they'll be 7 in a few months, God bless you!😊

When he's having a bad day, I do have some on hand that I can give 🙂 luckily we get by with the occasional CBD and managing diet!

Why would anyone separate their senior piggies??? My old girls have been cagemates for life and would be miserable without each other (and their baby cagemate would be heartbroken if they had to live apart, she needs old people to pester lmao). The older they get, the stronger their bond grows, and separating them is nothing short of cruelty in my opinion. Plus, my oldest girlie (by 2 weeks but still technically older) is like a mama for the herd. She runs the place, but her main job is to make sure everyone is safe and together. Keeping older pigs together doesn’t hurt them, it benefits the whole herd ❤️

I've seen a few times in online pages that if there's one older pig in the group, that they should be separated. So they "won't get picked on by the younger ones". I've also seen that if there are two seniors and one passes, introducing a new friend may be too stressful. I can see what points they are trying to make, but don't agree with them.
I completely agree with you :)

what herbs do you give them for joint health and how often do you give oats

I give them Oxbow's joint supplement, and bake them homemade treats that include turmeric, echinacea, and ginger in the ingredients.
Depending on the pig I give a small amount of oats once or twice a week 😊
