Wanted to apologize and give reason why I haven't been as active as I'd like to be. We've been working on making BIG changes. They're scary and intimidating... but hoping the end result is all worth it. We're finally getting to the piggie portion starting so wanted to bring you guys into the loop! I'll keep you updated with piggie manor build progress, but everything starts somewhere.

Great video!! I have some of what you've shown, lol! The small blue soft looking bed, I got it in pink, but you're SO RIGHT, it was too small for an average PIGGY, only a baby could fit! Love the wooden castle hide with the ramp, so nice!
Sweet, precious piggies!! Guinea pigs are just SO ADORABLE, the best smaller pet ever!! I've had 7 altogether, now I only have 2 sows left, but as I'm now 62, I don't know if I'll get more, I want to, but with a vet bill here and there, and daily chores, it comes out to be a bit of time every day, but they just cheer you up, and they're so good for your overall life, I'm an animal person anyway, I guess, lol!

He was a previously very grumpy old man who has learned that humans give head scratches. And he LOVES them 🥺 so now he comes over to see us to ask for them. It's so wholesome
@@ComfortCavies that’s the best feeling isn’t it?! 4 of mine still hasn’t learned to love scratches yet🥲 but 1 or 2 will allow me to pet them depends on the day. How do u get them to like it? I feel like maybe I do it wrong

Beautiful piggy!! Long haired piggies need short short bottoms, they're like little Hoover vacuums, lol! Guinea pigs are so low to the ground, the hair and the showing of piggies is a hobby people like, but really, piggies should enjoy being piggies, lol! I saw a tutorial on cutting long hair piggies, the lady also did the legs and underneath part of her bum very short, obviously you need a calm piggy and sometimes another person! She's so pretty, chunky too❤❤!
You're so right! Chiquita gets her back legs and booty trimmed too, but I tend to do those during nail trims so as not to test her patience *too* much haha. I know some people even use an electric shaver but I'm too low tech for that.

5:57 I have the same one but in pink and grey, it's a snuggle sac. Because it hands room around the front for you to put your own hands in to hold piggy while still in comfort and piggy feels safe. I just use it as a bed lol
what herbs do you give them for joint health and how often do you give oats
I give them Oxbow's joint supplement, and bake them homemade treats that include turmeric, echinacea, and ginger in the ingredients. Depending on the pig I give a small amount of oats once or twice a week 😊

Wow ! Almost 2 decades! I have owned piggies for 4.5 years , at some point had 9 at ones … some passed, more came in and now I have 7 I don’t know how you handle their health problems and passing but it’s very mentally and emotionally draining for me not to mention super expensive I’m not planning to get more in a future
It is all of those things for me, too. It never gets easier. But majority here are rescued and even neglected piggies - knowing I can change their life makes it all worthwhile for me. I get hay locally, garden, and have a 'natural' fenced in lawn in the country so I save a TON of money getting fresh snacks for them.

You can! My long haired piggies get regular trims to keep them tidy.

We're keeping them until they are old enough and strong enough to find homes of their own - whether or not they remain here forever is yet to be determined 😊

i remember when i got my first baby guineapig that one die of old age of 6 years :( about 4mounths ago

I thought it was pushing the poops into a pile at first until you mentioned it later and showed it inside! I guess it’s like the old school push vacuums that suck up the stuff inside and then you dump it out.

How c add you keep up with 16 piggies? I had 9 at some point on a top of full time job, housework with family and it was very hard
It's a labor of love. I used to have twice this many (fosters from a local rescue), but we're building a home and my schedule doesn't have quite that much room anymore. I work full time (50+ hours a week) with a full house as well and it's really not for the faint of heart. Getting into a healthy pattern and not beating myself up if I miss a day has worked wonders 😊

@lenajazuk4231 oh you're right, for sure. But I think this would be a really cute idea for just walking by and wanting to spot clean with little effort, or someone who wants to let their little kids help clean the cage.
