Joseph Anidjar of course he does. Look at the top of his snare. He uses ddrum dual trigger if I'm not mistaken. You can also hear just two velocity levels (quiet ghosts and loud rimshots) Maybe edited treshold or something..
all i see is a shure beta 57 and a brass snare weight. Knowing and trusting the skills of both alex as a player and nolly as a mixing engineer I have no trouble believing that theres no samples on the snare hits.
This STILL one of the best drum performances I have ever seen. The mix is phenomenal (shout out to the engineer)...but Alex's playing is just mind-boggling. Way too many superlattives to ever list. Beyond perfection...pure originality and energy.
I fucking love this guy. Definitely one of the best modern metal drummers out there. He's so precise, you could think that every extremity he uses has it's own brain.
WOWOW I love Alex Rüdinger and Kaz Rodriguez so so so much. Two of my biggest influences. Excellent players, excellent musicianship and performance. Can’t say enough good things
I've been following Alex since his Threat Signal days, and his progress as a musician constantly blows my mind. He's always been a very technical metal drummer at one of the highest levels, but seeing these videos later in his career where a deeper understanding of different times, dynamics and other rudi(haha)mentary understandings goes a LONG way. Such an underrated drummer. He's up there with the legends in my opinion!
I just spent the past 45 minutes with this on loop. His drumming is so clean and precise and some of those fills around the 3:08 mark are just super super tasty.
Oh God! Everything's so epic in this video. That sound of the drums, the backing track, the performance. It is so godly! I felt like I was lifted up to the heavens! Thank you so much, Alex Rudinger!
The thing about 3:38 is that it's so simple, but it's so fucking hard. I've been practicing this for months now and it's still not anywhere near this smoothness. Respect, Rudy!
First time I've seen him play on a traditional 5 piece set up, usually he sets up double bass style and I've seen him set up single tom. Doesn't matter with Alex, he's definitely not that " If it was my kit bro" guy. True professional!! Love your playing man.
I am simply undone by his playing ! He is sensational ! I normally hate metal drumming as well but this guy got me about ready to by a double bass pedal to start my journey. SPECTACULAR !!!
God damn those Tama starclassic hyperdrive drums and that Tama John tempesta signature snare sound absolutely perfect. But of course, it's mixed by nolly so of course the drums will sound perfect. Nolly is the best in the world.
As easily recognizable Alex's drumming is, let it be known that Nolly's mix and Kaz Rodriguez' song are equally unique and recognizable! First place I heard Kaz was the Chris Colman video "Go", also here on Meinl's channel. =)
@@mattshay9393 because the people who liked it actually play drums. Just teasin ya, both guys are extremely talented. I just happen to prefer Rudy's style.
Took a few influences from Blake Richardson during his solo i noticed but did an amazing solid job overall. Perfect drumming! This is what you call talent!
It was so clean. I think the first time I heard a fill like that was Virgil Donati. Then Marco Minneman. But I don't recall either of them playing it at that speed. I'm sure they could though.
Heyitsbacon Anyone know what he’s actually doing here? Is it alternating 32nd notes between hands and feet? It’s such a beautiful crashing wave of tom and bass drum.
Why does Alex's snare always sounds so sick? It sounds perfect!
because he uses triggers
not on the snare
Joseph Anidjar of course he does. Look at the top of his snare. He uses ddrum dual trigger if I'm not mistaken. You can also hear just two velocity levels (quiet ghosts and loud rimshots) Maybe edited treshold or something..
all i see is a shure beta 57 and a brass snare weight. Knowing and trusting the skills of both alex as a player and nolly as a mixing engineer I have no trouble believing that theres no samples on the snare hits.
Joseph Anidjar The trigger is that small red thing attached to a snare rim on the right next to the SM57.
Not enough love gets sent to the sound engineers... his drum sound is on point, that snare is IMMENSE!
"Mix: Adam “Nolly“ Getgood" - Says it all.
Ah, well there you go!
This STILL one of the best drum performances I have ever seen. The mix is phenomenal (shout out to the engineer)...but Alex's playing is just mind-boggling. Way too many superlattives to ever list. Beyond perfection...pure originality and energy.
I am so happy that most of my favorite prog metal drummers are performing in Meinl Drum Festival! And it's about goddamn time for Alex to be in there
So that's fucking TIGHT. Absolutely great Alex!!!. And Nolly's mix is INSANE!!!
I love his switch-ups by hand in the middle of the grooves!! Classic drum faces makes it extra intense. 😅
I never get tired of watching this guy play. He's simply amazing.
I started applauding at the end then realised I was in my home

Cookedaburra d absolutely ridiculous

My new favorite drummer. There's Virgil, Alex, and everyone else...
As always, impeccable.
Amazing! And this snare sound.... ufff
Favorite drummer for years now
Damn.. Those drums sound amazing! Incredible Drummer.
God damn those Tama starclassic hyperdrive drums and that Tama John tempesta signature snare sound absolutely perfect. But of course, it's mixed by nolly so of course the drums will sound perfect. Nolly is the best in the world.
So crisp timing is perfect
Love the snare dynamics!

Excellent performance!! The crashes are very very tight 😰
This man... amazing!
As easily recognizable Alex's drumming is, let it be known that Nolly's mix and Kaz Rodriguez' song are equally unique and recognizable! First place I heard Kaz was the Chris Colman video "Go", also here on Meinl's channel. =)
Ayyye, that's the troof! They are two incredibly sick guys.
What does Nolly not mix these days haha? It seems like everything I listen to is mixed by him. And it all sounds so good.
This guys is an absolute Machine
your drums sounds so nice bro. greetz from slovenia
so beautiful,,
3:38 Holyyy moly! :O :O
R-rK-L-lK-R-rK-L-lK so on and so forth, great lick if u ask me
yeah, he's basically making 32th notes while both feet and hands play 16th notes. Very interesting and very cool lick indeed.
32nd note split between the hands and feet. In the marching world they're called hand to hands where bass 2 splits bass 1. Check it out
The Vinnie Lick. Never gets old.
thanks dude. youre a savior
so many unique things in one content
I would totally buy this as a song!
Absolutely massive
that kit sounds amazing...
this is so CLEAN!
This is on fire!🔥🔥🔥
I love Rudinger...such a technical performer. Makes me want to be better, but knowing I will never be there....
Practice practice practice. You can get better than you think!
The cringe I felt reading your comment
He's an amazing drummer!
alex is the man!
Shouldnt luke Holland be using an Alex Rudinger Artist Concept stack?
Why does this have so many likes? Luke Holland is a beast and that stack is iconic! I agree that Alex should have a signature too, though. Don't hate
I love the setup.
Impeccable timing

That snare though....
Wow!! ❤️🥁❤️
Aplicação incrível
Q destreza ....mucho control👏👏
3:40.... um excuse me????
that fill is so incredible and such a hard tasking alternating it with the feet!
It was so clean. I think the first time I heard a fill like that was Virgil Donati. Then Marco Minneman. But I don't recall either of them playing it at that speed. I'm sure they could though.
reading comments and thought it was quads over doubles.... then watched.....jaw drop
What do you guys reckon the pattern was - RKLK or KRKL?
Heyitsbacon Anyone know what he’s actually doing here? Is it alternating 32nd notes between hands and feet? It’s such a beautiful crashing wave of tom and bass drum.
One of the things that just makes you feel like “yeah life is pretty bad fuckin ass.”
That snare sounds so good...
