    I have a customer's 2018 f350 and it is not shutting down after key is removed. Dash lights and ding is intermittent. Transmission will not allow truck to roll in reverse. Truck will crank for 1/4 second. Truck has 47 codes. Most are lost communication with tcm, bcm, etc. Oh yeah, Truck has 466,000 miles on it. I just needed to know what switch looked like. I assumed it was a slide mechanism.

    My '12 6.7 was doing kind of the same thing before I traded her in but it was the 'easy entry' seat that would move forward and back instead of the cluster going on and off. Once the truck was running all was fine so I didn't worry about it.

      @@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I just checked it out. Not really the same problem. My driver seat was doing the same thing this truck was doing with the cluster. If you would giggle the key, you could get the driver seat to go forward and back. Thinking it was the ignition switch. Don't have the truck anymore so no biggie. Still like watching your vids!

    Very interesting video. However, I've only seen that particular concern with the 2008 to 2012 model year Escapes that use that exact same style of switch and lock cylinder which, brings me to my next point. Would you recommend replacing the lock cylinder as well? I'd imagine with that many miles the tumblers inside the cylinder could be pretty worn out as well.

      Yes, I understand the price of a primary radiator can be pricey. However, avoid the temptation to install an aftermarket Mishimoto all aluminum replacement. From my readings of owner feedback, they have just as high if not higher repeat failure rate as well.

  • @scottwilson5361
    @scottwilson5361 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry, but I don't think that's the correct part. What you replaced is the contact switch that does acc, run, and start. The chime comes from the key in ignition switch, which is part of the tumbler. 3 sections to the operation: sensor ring for PATS, tumbler for allowing rotation, electrical switch at the end which is successful after the first 2 go positive.
