but killing the golden knights actually isn't too bad once you get used to it, all you need to do is just put some buffs on and back stab them (if that doesn't kill then you can usually finish them off while they're getting up) (make sure you have hornet ring on)
I farm souls in the same area an here's a way to improve even more your method. These enemies are Susceptible to Rapport, so you use Rapport in the third angel while he's recovering from the fall, for him don't attack you, then use rapport on the second angel with the Glaive, while he's fighting with the dual-axe one, you use this time to kill the first you use rapport. Wait them fight finish and kill the winner, it's faster, safe and make your life so easy, that after one hour making this you're going to go crazy with so much boredom... but it's efficient. Sorry for my bad english.

This works even better now! Thank you. I was farming the drowned centipede monsters next to the distant manor bonfire before this. That run did make it look easier than it is though, watch out for the halberd wielder's spin attacks!
FYI just did a little fun math. If you were to continually grind this technique at the given pace of 109512 per hour it would take you 7.71 hours to reach a soul level of 240, or twice meta level. Asuming you were starting as a level 1 depraved.
Faster method: -Slumbering + Lingering Dragoncrest ring -Hornet Ring -Any dark infused weapon (dark sword and lothric straight sword recommended) or Onyx Blade in base game -Hidden Body + Rapport 1. Turn invisible and use rapport on one of the two knights next to each other. 2. While they try to kill each other, use rapport on the solitary knight and backstab/R2 3. Finish off remaining knight
Another easy and super quick farm is the dragon barracks, hang a left at the bonfire, up and around those stairs is a knight kneeling down. Backstab and finish him off, he gives 4400 baseline + loot. Bonfire is like 2 steps away. Super easy and really fast, like 20sec runs no joke.
A good early game farm is the dark wraith you find in the lift by doing ring fingers quest line a tiny bit. It located at the tower on the wall bonfire
Rapterminator yes, great place, occasional drops and fast, i also did it with those priests in front of yorhm doors. Later in the game, the easiest way is to put a sign next to anor londo bonefire
Homeward bones make the runs more like 2mins long each (depending on how good the hardware is), and it cuts it down to 109,012 souls earned total, however, *effectivity 100*. If you want to cut this up (as this would build up to a big loss overtime), play on a character where you haven't traded the coiled sword fragment.

For anyone that feels intimidated by this soul farm, a less intimidating farm is to go to Anor Londo with the same equipment on and kill the three knights waiting for you it gives just as many souls as this. (Edit): You can also get proof of concord keep as a rare drop for the Darkmoon covenant.
Damn, I had no idea you can actually use the soul gain boost from Mendicant's staff on a melee character by swapping weapons right after the kill, thanks man :) Otherwise I can confirm that this farming spot is just the best. I had been farming here with my (mainly) Sorc build here for a couple playthroughs, the only bad thing is that by the NG+4 their HP is too high to die to three Crystal Soul Spear casts. I will give it a shot with Magic Clutch Ring equipped instead of Favor +3 (but that might hurt my Stamina badly), still, when it works out, you can take out 2 guys at once with little effort. Update: So it turns out I had already swapped the rings, but thanks to your video I can now use Candlestick in off-hand and swap the Shield of Want in right after the kill ^^ Thank you! You made my favourite farming method more effective again!

One of my favorite spots is at the Ringed City Streets bonfire. Put farming gear on, cast fall control, dunk on the Ringed Knight on the cliff for like 37k, coiled sword back to bonfire. I can get a million in like 30 minutes.
Good, but out dated, the ringed city does have a silver serpent ring +3 now, and the chaos dagger can be an inta-kill on backstabs. Just plus ten the dagger, get the soul buff gear, and become a god at dark souls farming
How do you get the +3 ring? Sorry I'm a nub and am just at the soul of cinder for the first time. I have all the dlc, I just need to find out how to enter the ringed city and where to find the ring, which I assume is on NG+3
The +3 ring is in the dreg heap right after the first lothric nights you encounter in the area, make a right instead of a left out the door, and go into the quarter area where there is an ambush from murkmen, find a fog wall on the left side on the farthest wall from you, go up the stairs, go into the room, quickly fall off the balcony onto a pile of ash, the serpent ring will be on your left hand side facing your character.
For Sorcerers: Use all the soul gaining items + pestilent mist + hidden body. The knights get killed and they even follow the cloud wherever you place it. Just make sure they don't Beyblade you to death.
killing the npc's summoned by Man-Serpent Summoner (from where u get medicant's staff btw) is WAY better. You get 11k souls /kill/15seconds.(time between death animation, receiving souls, respawning, killing again). I do not know if it is _the most_ effective method, but its damn easy to pull, and its quite rewarding.

Im the latest to the party but Im also a first time DS player. Just picked it up 2 weeks ago after being told I'd enjoy it. I do. This is a cool method, however I have a method that yields 116,640 souls every minute and 40 seconds in NG+ with continuously spawning knights at the Dragon-Kin Mausoleum bonfire. It would actually be much faster but Ive found that after the first knight, without resting at the nearby bonfire between spawns, DS reduces the souls gained by over half. (trash af) This method also sets up a guaranteed backstab every single kill. Heavy Lothric Greatsword with 1 shield of want in off hand. A second Shield of want in 2nd slot of main hand. Covetous Silver serpent ring +3 and the Symbol of Avarice. Same method as you've shown with the quick switch of main hand weapon immediately after the kill. Each knight yields 23,328 souls. 5 takes 1 minute and 40 seconds. since theres no running to the spot, its literally next to the bonfire, I can imagine that over an hour of farming between these two methods, mine would yield far more. But def more boring lol. There. I feel better about myself.
Is this NG+ or ++? I'm currently doing the NG+ soul runs at Yhorm the Titan bonfire that contain 8 flame casters + gargoyle, it's about 55k each run and one run takes about 60 seconds with ultra greatsword. *If you want to try:* Run outside from Yhorm's bonfire, kill four casters on the broken bridge then continue to the room with the flame hammer gargoyle, kill the gargoyle and another four casters in that room.
if u're having trouble with beating them u can use the pyromancy spell to make them fight for u so basically just use it once on one of the 2 on the right then they'll fight while u take out the one on the left then u can reuse it to make it easier or end it
TIP: if you have 30 int 30 strenh and 30 dex chaos dagger +10 hornet ring will do 1700+ dmg with crits, if you want it to be more easy use slumbering dragoncrest ring so you wont be heard from behind, EVEN BETTER PRO TIP: use Rapport so they can fight eachother and just kill the one who is friends with you.
If you use rapport on them you can do it faster. Also the medicants staff gives another 20% so if you are a magican you can use both medicants staff and shield of want in NG+ they drop 225000 souls a run.
Seems to me that by far the most reliable way to mass soul farm is to drop that white soapstone and down bosses or run through levels with randoms. It's quick and risk free.
You can stack poison and toxic mist with storyteller staff from the safety of the chapel through the walls and if you hit them with all 3 spells it usually KO's them. sometimes I have to cast it twice. port back to the twin princes bonfire rinse and repeat. up your item drop and these guys will drop Blessed gems too.
an other good way. in NG+ before the soul of cinder. after you found the covetous silver serpent ring +3 in ringed city: go to twin prince bonfire and walk down on the stairs. look the distance from the enemies and use pyromancer build. /level 35 attunement, great chaos fire orb spell, silver serpent ring, mimic face, lothric knight sword in the right hand. yah and equip the coiled sword fragment to teleport the last bonfire XD
The best way to get souls is to pvp, but you need Internet connection for that and the reason i say that is because at high levels players drop more souls then any other boss. But you need all the best soul gear for it to work well.

This has always been my farming strat but if you wanna make it even easier use rapport on the first golden winged knight he almost always kills the second for you then you have a free kill on the charmed one and just kill the third
U forgot to mention they drop large titanite shards or lower drop rate for chunks, if u don't need those sell em for 4k per titanite shard or idk hm per chunk but it'll b higher

For those with a quality build, Irithyll Rapier works wonders against the winged knights. They're weak to frost and thrust
For better results, equip the slumbering dragoncrest ring. It'll let you walk right up behind them without alerting them

You can do that same area and get about 250k soups if you use the staff.

You should try a rapier instead. It does around 1500 damage with hornet ring equipped on a dark or chaos build.
Dark damage is glitched when you do a backstab or riposte critical, chaos is the way to go.
There is also the time u spend warping and loading back to the bonfire

Is this NG+ or ++? I'm currently doing the NG+ soul runs at Yhorm the Titan bonfire that contain 8 flame casters + gargoyle, it's about 55k each run and one run takes about 60 seconds with ultra greatsword.
*If you want to try:* Run outside from Yhorm's bonfire, kill four casters on the broken bridge then continue to the room with the flame hammer gargoyle, kill the gargoyle and another four casters in that room.
if u're having trouble with beating them u can use the pyromancy spell to make them fight for u so basically just use it once on one of the 2 on the right then they'll fight while u take out the one on the left then u can reuse it to make it easier or end it
TIP: if you have 30 int 30 strenh and 30 dex chaos dagger +10 hornet ring will do 1700+ dmg with crits, if you want it to be more easy use slumbering dragoncrest ring so you wont be heard from behind, EVEN BETTER PRO TIP: use Rapport so they can fight eachother and just kill the one who is friends with you.
Silver knights in Anor londo are also a great way for farming souls.They don't give so many but i believe they are much easier to farm.
As of the ringed city, this can be even more efficient with the covetous silver +3.

If you use rapport on them you can do it faster. Also the medicants staff gives another 20% so if you are a magican you can use both medicants staff and shield of want in NG+ they drop 225000 souls a run.
Seems to me that by far the most reliable way to mass soul farm is to drop that white soapstone and down bosses or run through levels with randoms. It's quick and risk free.
Not really, you get around 30% of the souls from the boss, and summoning isnt always guaranteed to occur, especially when you're at higher levels
The total to all this equipment is an 80% increase in souls. Hot damn.
bzeffer actually, the item stack on one other, so the soul cash in is 237%, not 80.
You can stack poison and toxic mist with storyteller staff from the safety of the chapel through the walls and if you hit them with all 3 spells it usually KO's them. sometimes I have to cast it twice. port back to the twin princes bonfire rinse and repeat. up your item drop and these guys will drop Blessed gems too.
The farm is only complete once you return to the bonfire. Add another 10 second and you're good.
If you use rapport pyromancy on one of the first 2 knights its a lot easier, then cast rapport on the 3rd one and bone out
an other good way. in NG+ before the soul of cinder. after you found the covetous silver serpent ring +3 in ringed city: go to twin prince bonfire and walk down on the stairs. look the distance from the enemies and use pyromancer build. /level 35 attunement, great chaos fire orb spell, silver serpent ring, mimic face, lothric knight sword in the right hand. yah and equip the coiled sword fragment to teleport the last bonfire XD

The best way to get souls is to pvp, but you need Internet connection for that and the reason i say that is because at high levels players drop more souls then any other boss. But you need all the best soul gear for it to work well.

Using Rapport, I make them kill each other than finish the last guy off, takes me 76 seconds tops, and no risk of dying whatsoever

At NG +3 I'm getting almost 100k from each kill, pretty nutty
Try anor Londo. I just farm those three silver Knights. You get like 70K or so souls a run. It takes less than a minute

I use the Slumbering Dragoncrest ring on these guys whenever I'm farming. Free initial backstabs for the win.
This has always been my farming strat but if you wanna make it even easier use rapport on the first golden winged knight he almost always kills the second for you then you have a free kill on the charmed one and just kill the third
How is your crows quill 130 crit when mines at 120 maxed out?
Dark infusion is better than sharp though. +10 dagger with dark does 2k plus on damage

Using a shield in each hand is more effective, just change when the BOT die.

U forgot to mention they drop large titanite shards or lower drop rate for chunks, if u don't need those sell em for 4k per titanite shard or idk hm per chunk but it'll b higher
crow quills do more damage sharp even with a quality build as it gets a s scaling in skill

I'm new to Dark Souls and started with DS3 vanilla version 1.00. The staff and ring stacks in extra souls, but the mimic headpiece does not. Is it because of version 1.00?

Farming the silver knights in anor londo yields the same results plus its faster but the angels do have a rare drop of titanite slabs.
no, there is nor rare slabs drop. you´ll get a slab only for the first time killing all 3
