Audio sounds great man, I’ve realized that people can’t A/B test your audio they don’t even notice if it’s not as good as a shotgun mic. Simple is always better because in the end people only care if it’s good enough, not that it’s the greatest.
Unless you’re looking for a specific sound, then simple might not work for you. Everyone’s needs are different. And, even if it doesn’t affect quality, sometimes you’re just gonna have a good time trying something different, having fun is a key factor to making a better product and keeping yourself motivated 😉
Great idea with the mic! Proofs it can be used in a studio/talking head. Also outdoors which makes it much more multipurpose than a studio mic. And you have 2, so can use it for a guest.
Nice one Peter, I had my eye on one of those Autopoles for a while, I think this has made up my mind. I never thought of using a monitor app for my phone too, so good idea there too!
Amazing is the fact that you've built and arranged it all by yourself... Congrats to the new studio. I'm getting inspired by your solution with the veripole but I'm realising I need a more "movable" setup since my room is small (3,5X3,5m) and I'll need different backdrops visually at times. But I will steal and adapt "all on one stand" setup, I have it already on a C-stand but I've seen some of your special solutions here... so kudos, thanks for all inspiration! Also changing from a 90cm softbox to 60cm 🙂
Hi Peter, the monitor+ app I use with WiFi, but there is a lag of about a second. Do you use a specific cable to hard wire the iPad to your camera? Thank you!
Hey Peter! I also had the same problem with overheating with the ZVE1, so, I bought the Ulanzi Fan second gen, and now it draws out the heat and it works just fine, maybe you can give it a try and see if it works for you! Hope it helps 😊
Hi Peter! Cool Video! Greetings from Mallorca Island. Right now we use the FX3 + DJI RS4 + Raveneye and send the signal to an IPAD using the DJI Ronin App... This is not really what we expected. I will try the Monitor + App you suggested. Only issue will be once you connect the IPAD with the FX3 via cable its contra productive because active tracking seems not supported by Monitor + as this targets the gimbal ... Hmm and with raveneye you cannot handle the functions of the FX3... Any idea?
Hey that setup is sick! Quick question...Is the iPad Monitor plus app better than the official Sony Creator app? Also are the iPad colours accurate enough to match the camera?
@@PeterLindgren1 Thanks, definitely going to have to try that out. I've been looking for a good use case for my iPad. I only ever seem to use it when I go on holiday.
Build your own keylight / softbox from some cardboard, a cheap flatpanel led worksite lamp, aluminum foil and parchment papers I did a video on my channel on building one, and exploring the best types of setups with it in future videos Should be good enough until money is no object and you need the adjustability of a proper light :)
I know what you mean. I use the same set and I am very happy about the audio quality. I think it would look less 'massive' in your image and maintain the audio. You put so much effort in your image quality. One tiny step to the audio makes it complete. Connect the microphone, drop the transmitter in your clothes and clip it. Done. It might stop people wondering why there is a microphone on your head. It is a tiny freaking perfect step. ;-)
Great video and I love your setup! Did you notice the lens flare/glare your rim light is casting on your front cam? maybe throwing a CPL or moving the light might help. Your footage looks awesome, I know I'm always looking to tweak my video to perfection. Keep putting out the videos, you've helped me a lot in my video making journey.
Love the studio setup Peter however hardly anything you mentioned in the video aside your camera gear, and monitor is linked in your affiliate links. The variable pole, soft box, lights, the friction arms, etc are not linked. I know gear doesn't matter starting out I was just interested in what you had. Also what pole are you using to extend your top down camera from the variable pole?
Ah Peter, you have to get into Davinci Resolve. Most of the VFX you demo’s are in the pro version. Some are in the free version too. Moving to resolve has halved my post production time compared to FCP. Cheers Rich ;o )
Nah bro, you’re not utilising FCPX to its full potential then. I’m editing faster than I have ever been at this point! The only thing extra that DVR has, is color grading. But the more I do this, the less I care about it 😅
@@PeterLindgren1 hmm, Possibly? Re: Care less about the grade: Starting out, I used to be 'Must be full frame' or 'Has to be 12 bit colour'. Now, complete reverse! Cheers Rich ;o )
Great setup Peter! I like the iPad idea to be able to control your camera. I have FX30 and I’ve been using my iPhone wirelessly to control the camera. It’s been pain in the butt because it always loses connection. I know there is a wired alternative but I need to charge my camera, any recommendations?
@@PeterLindgren1 I’ll have to look. I know that it doesn’t have an access for the cable to come through the battery door. Your FX3 is probably similar.
Good video. I have had my eyes on a mic setup, because my voice overs sound like garbage. I e tried to make them better in post, but garbage in makes garage out.
Watching videos like this from you and other Peter M., makes us want to build our own studios like this. However, we dont consider demographic differences. We forget that we dont get paid like you guys. In third world countries, content makers are poor because they are not appropriated
@@PeterLindgren1 awesome . I think with some EQ'ing these mics can do the job. Especially in a not so well treated room. My room has tile floors and I tried the shotgun mic and I didn't like the sound at all .

This video is actually useful... Thanks Peter.
This is anything but minimal. This is the dream setup, love it.

So many videos in past few weeks, Peter! It's great. I'm having trouble keeping up. 😊
Haha!
the audio setup you had this time is revolutionary😂 and yes how consistent the voice quality was is another great Hack. Awesome
In some of your recent videos, I wasn't sure if you were using that DJI mic because it sounded so good! Glad you brought it up. Sounds great.
Hey Peter. Dope setup. Your house build too really appreciate the authenticity. 🍻
dröm setting! Goals 2024!

Sure is! The simpler, the better!
Thanks for sharing so much information with us
Great video I definitely need to get some of that from my set up
Thanks for sharing cool setup. What Magic Arm are you using to mount the light to the pole?

Sharp setup there! 🔥

Can you recommend any cheaper light setups? This is almost 2k just to cover the key light.
Go for a 60w with a 60 softbox. Downside is that you won’t be able to use it on locations etc.
Spending those 2k will last you a decade
Ledge, appreciated.
Yeah, fair, but my wife will hate me for at least the first 6 months of that decade 😂

When using the monitor plus app with usb c, face detection its disable?
DJI Mic 2 sounds great indeed. Have you tried using their lavalier microphone? It is smaller and can be placed on your shirt or hat.
Yet another step man! Trying to reduce it as much as I can haha!

Ok youre using monitor+. Which i hear is a great app… but my question is why not using the native sony monitor and control? How does it compare?

Really well thought out setup. Have you tried a shotgun mic?
Yup, picks up too much echo!
What Ipad Cage are you using?
Accsoon power cage
Cool does the effects work on filmora 13 on windows ?
Nope!
You should sell your audio presets for Final Cut Pro
YEah, might do in the future =)
