    Consistency of routine is THE KEY to both efficacy and long-lasting success (this applies to anything in life, in fact). The boringness of consistently-performed, positive habits, plus waiting to see results and staying focused on your desired outcome requires discipline and patience, but the return on your investment will be well worth it. Your future self will say, "thank you."

      Hey Jen if you would lose 15 pounds, bleach your spotted skin, lighten your eggplant colored eyelids and undereyes with makeup, stop putting Filler in your face so that your mouth pulls up like a puppet on the sides, fix the skinny left side of your upper lip and wear green contacts, you would much better looking. Mike. Also...work on your shiny face and big pores, the Camera Filter does not hide them on a big TV screen. The thumbnail of you at 22 years old you were much lighter colored and much thinner. OK bye thanks.

  • @janelopez7010
    @janelopez7010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Jennifer from my own personal experience, I have found that a really good eye cream is essential to preserving one's under eyes. Although you do not use an eye cream, you do use something much more moisturizing on your eyes than the rest of your face, which is the castor oil. I don't think one has to use an eye cream but even an oil will help. I personally use a very emollient eye cream and it has made all the difference. That being said, I absolutely agree with you on so many things. I also do not believe in getting work done, and I love that you do this consistent skincare. I have been using Retin A and I am just starting to get glass-like skin here and there after peeling, after like 9 months of use, but I can only use it twice a week at this time. It is actually better for aging to use the same ingredients and not change it up too much, which will disrupt the PH balance of one's face causing it to age more. Your skin is goals! So flawless. Hope you are well and so good to see you back on here! :)

    I just want to tell you that I have been following you for more than almost 2 years, 1 year before the pandemic I bought many skin care products and used them for a while, until the pandemic came I stopped using them, I do not want to say that I was depressed since I don't have a diagnosis but I just stopped doing many things that I used to like or even take care of myself, I just wanted to sleep and I felt very bad, sad (I still feel it but I try to cope with it), and I'm not exaggerating or lying but seeing this video of yours helped me dare to do "skincare" for the first time in a while, I don't know if it sounds weird but simply your voice calms me down and makes me feel better. After an hour of doing my skincare, I looked in the mirror and I feel like my face is better, which I don't think is possible and now I want to cry about something that might be ridiculous but I want to thank you for that.

    A fun little thing: I've been on tretinoin for 1 year now, and my eye skin now tolerates tretinoin... This is from someone who used to struggle with eczema and broken skin a lot, even had a year ish long eczema flare excatly around the eyes because of a sunburn. I'm using Cordes Vas 0,05mg, which supposedly corresponds with 0,05%, and theres just not the same soreness happening as there was one year ago. That soreness was mostly the neck, but eyes really did seem off limits. Now i can put it anywhere in the face, next to no negative reaction. Did also probably build up tolerance having used 1%retinol arond the eyes during some of the process. Just an anecdote.

But your amazing results long term made me decide to definitely go for it! And I agree. When I bounce around with trying too many products my skin gets weird, when I stick to a product that is working I see better results. I have been trying to find a sunscreen that works for me lately though and that is hard I’ve tried a few and the only one I like so far is from Tula. Also for lips the cerave renewing night cream is wonderful, I also use it for my nostrils and tip of my nose, odd I know, but I live in a very windy coastal town and my nostrils get so dried and crack.

Soon, I found myself using vitamin c (it's also prescribed by my doctor), later perhaps I will use castor oil too lol but I'm still finishing my eye cream. I will however try to use amlactin for my bumpy skin after finishing my body lotion. Thank you for your videos, the routine and the product recommendation all works for me. Hi Jennifer i love your life style advices and how simple is your skin care, I have a question how do you remove facial hair and mustache while using retinol because it's make the skin very sensitive for waxing , this is my beggest problem with using tretinoine

    Hi Jennifer, I've been watching all your videos. I love them. Can you please tell me the manufacturer of the Atralian generic tretinoin you use? I am going to the dermatologist this week . I would be very thankful for prescribing information. I know you use the generic for the brand Atralian tretinoin gel 0.05%.

    Looking for something else to try - recommendations welcome!

      If you're still breaking out, you need to simplify your skin/cosmetic products (eliminate fragrance and irritants for sure). You'd like Dr Dray's (dermatologist) channel. She's good at educating people about ingredients in skincare/cosmetics and not spending $$$, but instead $ on a few time tested dermatologist recommendations.

      @@unprofessionalvideos7827 Maybe you have been misinterpreting. Dr Dray says less is more and her recommendations are night time oil cleanse, followed by facial cleanser, moisturizer, and tretinoin. She doesn't wash her face in the morning but adds sunscreen. Whether or not any individual uses actives you mentioned depends on each person's skin (rosacea, acne, eczema, etc.) She does not encourage frivolous use of any product just for fun. She's very vocal about being against Vitamin C because it's so unstable, it took years for her to finally find only one that was developed that she even will recommend.

    I love that your routine is simple and effective -- and accessible. Even if the Rx of tretinoin is out of reach for some, Differin is available over the counter.
    I may give the Garnier Micellar Water a try, as I find that my CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser isn't up to the task of full removing my sunscreen. I tried PCA Skin's Daily Cleansing Oil, but it seems to bother my eyes slightly -- and it's not fully dissolving and removing my (non-waterproof) mascara. Both of which concern me, especially for the price!

    • @violetviolet888
      @violetviolet888 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd recommend an oil cleanser or oil based cleansing balm. Ponds cold cream is exceptional (or any cold cream). Micellar water is 75% good compared to better oil based cleanser. You'd like Dr Dray's (dermatologist) channel. She's good at educating people about ingredients and not spending $$$, but instead $ on a few time tested dermatologist recommendations. She's got videos answering your quetions.

    Hi Jennifer, Thank you for posting this! I really hope you can help with my questions. I noticed in your video, you don't wait for your skin to dry before tretinoin or the tretinoin to dry before you apply moisturizer. Is that how you really do it or is it back to back for the video? Also, do you put any tretinoin on your under eye area at all? Have you ever applied under your eyes? Do you just use moisturizer and castor oil for that area? I have seen people says tretinoin is good for under eye, but I feel like its not helping... please tell me what you do, your skin is amazing!!

    Hi Jennifer, I'm new to your channel, and I love your videos! One question about the Retin-A evening routine, I'm 58 years old, and I've been using it by itself, not applying a moisturizer afterwards. I always thought the results would be more powerful that way. Any thoughts on that? A moisturizer would soften the feeling of dryness I guess.

    I have a question: do you shave your face?? Or do you use any kind of facial hair removal techniques?? Or do you not shave at all? It yes then by which process do you remove them? If no , then i wanna know why do you not prefer removing facial hair?? Btw once again, i really love your skincare videos!!! Thanks ♥️

    Hi Jennifer! I love watching your videos. You’re such an inspiration for me! I noticed in this video that you only washed your face (as opposed to ears, neck, and chest area). How do you usually clean off sunscreen from the ears and chest? Do you apply or find it necessary to wear body sunscreen while indoors? Thanks!

    I’ll always wonder how people who apply tretinoin before moisturizer get away with it. I feel like when you moisturize on top of tretinoin you smear it and drag it to your under-eyes, lids, lips. And that’s exactly what happened after my first/last time trying it. I woke up with really tight skin around my eyes and lips that proceeded to peel through the ENTIRE week.
