An entire spell north of 150 clicks, with that flat foot - excellent command over length and swing (which wasn't always the case, nor easy to achieve). I loved watching shoaib ball, especially in England with the background horn noises.
Lara was an absolute genius with the bat but when up against extreme pace he has been rattled on quite a few occasions. Perhaps the attacking nature of his batting led to this. On the other hand guys like Sachin and Ponting had tighter techniques hence they could manage extreme pace. However on his day Lara could even smash these pacers but he was always susceptible. What an Era it was! Blessed to have seen that era! Sachin, Lara and Ponting vs such dangerous bowlers. Sadly no such head to head battles exist anymore!
Shoaib did get Sachin on more than one occasion despite his "tighter than Lara" technique which you are trying to imply. And ponting has been struck by srinath despite his technique. No use for this argument buddy Sachin was not better than Lara however hard u try

@@lakhaniahmed1982 Shoaib also played more against Sachin. He played one test against Lara but never bowled to him as Waqar and Wasim dismissed him quickly in both the innings. Also, Sachin played many more ODI's against Shoaib and HTH he has hit 250+ runs against Shoaib despite being dismissed on 5 occasions. He scored at a HTH average of 50 against Shoaib that must prove who dominated often.

Sachin hardly ever was beaten by pace barring the period between 2004-2007 when he was recovering from tennis elbow. Donald got Lara out 5 times in 5 tests on South African wickets in 1998-99. No one is denying Lara's greatness. He was a genius. One of the best against spin and fast medium but when it came to sheer pace he has been troubled often.

Still remember this match (semi final champions trophy 2004 at Southampton). Shoaib was on his peak in this tournament, 4 wickets vs India in the group stage.
