@@Learie. Well Mr Bradman was nothing more than a very good batsman of a mediocre era vis vis cricket. Small pitches, inferior quality of bowling among other things. Viv Richards and Lara are there for full contention and rightly so.
Lara had many big hundreds, but he also failed more often. That is why his average is still lower than Sachin even after hitting so many double and triple hundreds. Lara, like most other left handers, is awesome to watch. But the fact I like about Sachin is that he is a keen student of the game and took every game seriously. He performed brilliantly even in World XI/MCC XI/Sachin XI/Warne XI matches where most other star batsmen of those days, including Lara, failed. His consistency is just awesome. Yes, he was not someone who could hit 300 or 400 like Lara or Sehwag. He played test cricket like test cricket and ODI like ODI. If I have to choose a player to chase some high target in test cricket, I would probably choose Sehwag or Lara but if I want a batsman to play for the country for 10-15 years, I will go with Sachin. In ODIs, I would choose Sachin as he scored faster than lara with more consistency. Playing in India is easy for an Indian, and playing in WI is easy for a WI batsman. So, saying sachin played in India that it is easy to bat is wrong. If you are still not convinced, just compare their away stats and stats in the SENA countries, and you will get the answer. Remember, the panel of experts from around the world who selected the cricinfo (hypothetical) test world XI a decade or so back, chose Sachin and Richards ahead of Lara. May be Ian Chappell chose Lara, but that is a different story altogether.
Allan Donald talks abt Sachin ,Lara ,Steve waugh in an interview in 2009 , I had been watching Sachin Tendulkar on and off before we (South Africa) were readmitted in 1991. Everything about him is just so exceptional. He is wonderful technically and he has everything - class, speed, all the shots, and he is cool under pressure. Cricketers always talk about his amazing balance, even the Aussies. I've seen tapes of Sunil Gavaskar and if you split the screen between him and Tendulkar, they look virtually identical. I have never seen a man with such immaculate balance - it is freakish. People go to a Test match just to watch Tendulkar. I, for one, would rather watch him than bowl against him. Actually, I'm glad I'll never have to bowl to him in a Test match again, though I've been quite successful against him. He is No. 1 in my book - the best player I have ever had the privilege of bowling to. There's Steve Waugh and there's Brian Lara, who was wonderful in 1995, but Tendulkar is a class above, consistently special. The best knock I can remember him playing was at Newlands in 1997, when he was just unstoppable. We only got him thanks to a blinding catch by Adam Bacher off a hook shot, otherwise he would have gone on and on. Under Hansie Cronje we studied hard for a Tendulkar weakness. We thought he might be vulnerable, especially early in his innings, to the ball that is bowled from wide of the crease, coming back in off a good length. He might then be bowled through the gate, or be lbw, especially on English wickets. We also tried peppering him with short balls - not many top-class batters like that - but it didn't really seem to bother him. The one thing that might rattle him is being restricted. He loves scoring, and scoring quickly, and if he is frustrated, sometimes he goes out and looks for the big shot. I don't think he really gets rattled by sledging. Glenn McGrath tried it and Tendulkar just kept running at him and hitting him back over his head for four. I think that, like Steve Waugh, sledging just makes him more focused: I don't think it is a good idea to have a word. Tendulkar is already a legend so I'm not sure how he'll be remembered - what comes after legend? . He's the best in the world, one of the most magnificent players there's ever been.
What a weird bunch of comments. Lara was great to watch and played some brilliant innings, helping Windies to a couple of great wins eg against Australia in 1999 and 2003. But the greatest ever West Indian batsman was Garfield Sobers, no question. And no cricket expert or historian ever has suggested there was a better batsman than Don Bradman, who was 4 runs short of averaging 100 in every completed innings and scored a century more often than once every 3 innings. Lara scored one every 7 innings. Case closed.
Two of the greatest player's of all time Sachin was more difficult to dislodge but I think Brian was more flamboyant having said that they were both very good against pace I give Sachin the edge medium pace and spin I give lare a slight edge so who's better it's difficult to say because they both made runs all over the world for Lara I will say he struggled in India for some reason I really can't put my hands on for Sachin I will say he average much more because he played lots of cricket in Asia but I think Lara once he passed hundred world go on to score bigger than Sachin and Sachin played ball's more on merit and Lara was more attractive to watch but I feel like Sachin has a better technique than Lara but Lara would hit good balls for four more than Sachin
Lara is a impact player because he doesn't score in every match but scores when needed and scores Big where sachin is a run machine. He doesn't make big runs like lara but his positive point is he scores in most of his matches which makes his average better and also Sachin is anyday better batsman than lara. So for me Sachin is greater.
Lara better than sachin in style, aggression, selfless, shots all, over the ground, fearless, and treat to watch and sachin is also excellent player, text book shots, better records than any one On any day LARA better than sachin, the way he played the game
Sachin in the first half of his career didn’t bat with world class batters, that came later. Lara on the other hand came into a top class batting order which gradually whittled down to one or two world class batters.

Lara played in a struggling west Indian team that was under pressure that had to live up to the great west Indians of the past. Tendulkar was always in a winning team and a team that was much better. So Lara has to be better.
Sachin has won more games than lara .He dominated world bowling for first 12 years without anybody support in the team.he had the expectation and pressure of 100 billion people which lara did not had. After the injuries Sachin was little bit down from 2002 to 2007.
sachin was part of a world-class team only in the 2000s, which is really the second half of his career.. for the first half, he played along with poor players except for Azharuddin..and later half of such first half, he played alongside young and inexperienced Dravid, Ganguly, VVS, whose defining knocks in Tests came after 2000 .. Truth be told, lara too had some quality players in his side until mid 90s ..and later had people like Chanderpaul and Gayle in his side in the 2000s.. just naming a few

May be Ian Chappell chose Lara, but that is a different story altogether.
Sir Brian Charles Lara!
Undoubtedly Brian Charles Lara
Yeah🔥
Lara was a wizard with the bat.
Yesss
Allan Donald talks abt Sachin ,Lara ,Steve waugh in an interview in 2009 ,
I had been watching Sachin Tendulkar on and off before we (South Africa) were readmitted in 1991.
My all time great is Brian C Lara
Lara is a batting King none better ever there will beeee
Lara is the best batsman ever
Lara, the batting magician
Splendid history of the best
Very sincere and thoughtful review and tribute to Lara, as a Trinidadian and West-Indian, thank you
Glad you liked it😃
Can you cover hrishikesh kanitkar, legendary indian batsman?
Eagerly waiting to hear his story
What a weird bunch of comments. Lara was great to watch and played some brilliant innings, helping Windies to a couple of great wins eg against Australia in 1999 and 2003. But the greatest ever West Indian batsman was Garfield Sobers, no question. And no cricket expert or historian ever has suggested there was a better batsman than Don Bradman, who was 4 runs short of averaging 100 in every completed innings and scored a century more often than once every 3 innings. Lara scored one every 7 innings. Case closed.
Lara was an is best ever
Two individual world class players Brian and Tendulkar.
Brian Lara is one of the most superb batsman ever. His record will remain for a long time.
U must be a crack smoker....Say it ain't so..
Simple the greatest
Lara is the greatest batsman I have ever aern
Seen
He really had little help and that pressure is what made him great
Lara better than sachin in style, aggression, selfless, shots all, over the ground, fearless, and treat to watch and sachin is also excellent player, text book shots, better records than any one
On any day LARA better than sachin, the way he played the game
Sachin in the first half of his career didn’t bat with world class batters, that came later. Lara on the other hand came into a top class batting order which gradually whittled down to one or two world class batters.
Sachem has always had world class batters around him. He always had a foundation bto build on. Unless if you’re saying guys like azarudin, sidu and the likes were school boy Crockers
@@warro35yo man they just want to prove Sachin is better lol 😂😂😂
@@horrorflixurdu9138did they have to proove it? Widon, icc, any cricket ranking ranks sachin ahead of lara... The facts doesn't change with a FAN THEORY IN TH-cam AND SOME 10-30 fans hailing this video.... But thanku... I just realised it... Why should me also try to argue with this few subscribers of a small youtube channel when the world itself says it's the other way... Anyway... Niyc to meet you people
Most Indian players are made to look great by an over hyped media. When Sachin played, there were many other great players like Lara, Sangakara, Ponting, Dravid, Kallis to name a few but none were hyped as much as Sachin.
Lara any day
To end the debate u guys must stop just comparing records , and look at the entertainment value and the impact Lara had on the world , the queen use to come n watch Lara , every great bowler feared Lara not tendulkar , the same with Micheal Jordan , even if Lebrun broke all his records , was he as entertaining, did he had such an impact on the world , Lara is the greatest batsman ever not just for his batting but his impact, his swag he is must see tv
Brian Lara
Lara played in a struggling west Indian team that was under pressure that had to live up to the great west Indians of the past. Tendulkar was always in a winning team and a team that was much better. So Lara has to be better.
Lara of course
Lara won games on his own for his team when they were down and out
Yeah!
Sachin has won more games than lara .He dominated world bowling for first 12 years without anybody support in the team.he had the expectation and pressure of 100 billion people which lara did not had. After the injuries Sachin was little bit down from 2002 to 2007.
whether the score was 20-3 or 300-3 Lara always played the same elegant and dashing way. No other batter could've done that
Brian Lara was from a planet where cricket was the pastime of the Gods. He was a special God. He performed miracles on demand.
💯
Lara is the best ever to play the game
Lara was the Greatest ever... no comparison
I like sir Brian Lara to much
sachin was part of a world-class team only in the 2000s, which is really the second half of his career.. for the first half, he played along with poor players except for Azharuddin..and later half of such first half, he played alongside young and inexperienced Dravid, Ganguly, VVS, whose defining knocks in Tests came after 2000 ..
Truth be told, lara too had some quality players in his side until mid 90s ..and later had people like Chanderpaul and Gayle in his side in the 2000s.. just naming a few
Lara is the only best batsman
Yesss
I m indian for me sachin is god of cricket but when talk about brian charls lara he is come from another world whr is no god exist he is everything. The legendry batting stance and winning single handly against mighty Australia era
Yeah
