@shanagbaimuru3926 honestly it's not good game design precisely because of this. Even if the players know this (which Ac6 doesn't even bother telling you unlike nier lol) they're not willing to go through repetitive missions to get to the new stuff. But mapo did blasphemous justice, so hopefully ac6 also gets that treatment
@emperman Eh I'd push back on that at least a bit. I fundamentally don't agree with the design principle that players have to see all of a game's content for it to be a good decision. If you look at the numbers, barely 40% of players of pretty much any game even finish them in the first place, let alone the numbers for 100%-ing games is significantly lower, yet many games are considered to be good, so in of itself it's impossible for the metric of "players willingly didn't play enough to see all the content" to be a useful one for evaluating "good game design" either on the consumer or producer end. I love secrets in games, and a large part of what makes a secret a secret is that not everyone gets to it (which is why playthroughs where someone is staring at a guide the entire time is less interesting usually). A lot of devs these days seem to have a fear of all their content being seen, and as a result more or less make even "secrets" mandatory in the normal playthrough experience. Having secret endings for games locked behind replays that aren't indicated at all is a pretty longstanding tradition for the industry, especially for Japanese franchises originating in earlier years. AC6 is not an incomplete game if you just play through one route by any means, it just simply has a lot more to offer than what is contained in one route, which is where the disappointment of people not playing them if you're a fan comes from. At the same time, as my friend group's resident secret finder, there's a lot fun in telling people there's more to something they already enjoyed (Elden Ring was great for this) to nudge them towards more. Regarding the repetitiveness of the playthroughs, while I agree to some extent, I think the added dialogue, extra bosses, mission options, etc that become available on subsequent playthroughs even early on as would be encountered multiple times in the content covered in this video is enough if you're someone who had to commitment to press new game again in the first place. Not trying to be antagonistic or anything here, just giving my thoughts
Sekiro has been my fav playthru of yours, but if you go all the way thru all ng to ng++ this has potential to become my fav playthru!! Awesome start, great first ep
As a veteran player, the best short n sweet non-spoilery advice I can give is this: * if you are stuck, mix up your build, especially mid mission if you die. * It's easiest to incorporate at least one high impact weapon, and at least one high crit damage weapon. *If an enemy has a health bar you just can't get down fast enough, that's usually a sign to bring out the heavy explosives or melee weapons. Speedrunners can take out some of these bosses in 10 seconds and you can too. *Your targeting computer is important, and be sure to check that it lines up with your play style (closer range, medium range, long range) and have fun. *Save builds you like, and experiment with new ones whenever possible. *If you want to spec into melee, check your thrusters, there are some that let you close the gap quicker when attacking with a melee weapon. *Multi lock missile launcher are good for longer missions with tons of little enemies. *Your mechs weight has a huge impact on your movement speed, and if you feel like you can't keep up with the enemies, shed some parts and go for a nimbler build. *And lastly, if you do have a big heavy mech, don't sleep on the kicking upgrade. Your kick is a decent damage infinite melee attack that deals more damage the heavier you are. Plus it can shred through shields suprisingly well if you kick right after an assault boost. Also it just feels very cool to roundhouse kick an enemy off a cliff as you skid to a stop.
Armored Core 6 was my 1st AC game. After getting all 3 endings i decided to play the rest of the series and can honestly say it is one of my favourite game series with some of favourite games in the series being AC1, AC3, AC For Answer and AC6.
Highly recommend pressing triangle when looking at stats of different parts in the shop to get a more detailed overview. Those legs you looked at that looked like they had bad stats are actually very fun to use and are decent!
I really hope he reads comments because there are three things that totally kill AC6 LP’s for me. Not checking detailed part stats and learning what it all means with the contextual help, not noticing that ricochet is a thing that exists and that weapon ranges are all-important, and forgetting how target lock works.
It's easy to miss the insanely massive scale of this game since the mechs are so agile and everything else is huge too. Zullie the Witch did a cool comparison since it uses the same engine as Elden Ring -- the largest vehicle (the STRIDER) is bigger than the entire regions of Liurnia, Limgrave, and the Weeping peninsula *_combined._*
Awesome first episode, hooked for the rest of the series now. I knew very little about AC other than the intensity and speed of the mechs but the story seems really rich and engaging so far. More!
Great episode! I love the early part of this game where you get to know all the different factions and characters and get a feel for what type of game it is. What stood out to me is how aware they make you of the fact that it's people you kill, coming from the souls games it was pretty eye-opening to me. In souls games you just kill mindless zombies for the most part but here they talk and react to what you do. The trainer AC mission especially did an impression on me. Oh and I love the OST, it fits the game so well.
IIRC, "The Raven's Nest" was the name of the mercenary "guild" in pretty much all older AC games, and "Raven" was the generic name for their members. PS: thats probably why it was written for ALLMIND to say "Welcome back, Raven". It's a bit of a meta way for the game to address fans of the previous games. "We're back" sort of thing.
Tips for new pilots - assault boost can be cancelled 2 ways, by tapping the jump button or the assault boost button again. - after purchasing the kick OS, using the AB button while assault boosting will launch a kick instead of canceling AB. - shooting while assault boosting deals increased stagger damage. - you can fall faster by not moving. - keep a good eye on your en gauge. You regen en slowly while in the air. It's better to stay grounded and replenish en than founder in the air like a crippled bird. - hard lock is good for boss fights. - hard lock can be messed up if you accidentally move the camera control stick. Keep a light touch on the stick. - most melee weapons have an integrated boost to close the gap. This makes it unnecessary to get too close to the target. Melee weapons like the pilebunker and moonlight blade have no melee boost. - bunny hopping and flying up is a good way to avoid damage. - adapting to change is the name of the game. Don't get stuck on one build. If you're having trouble with a mission, swap out parts and try again. You can try to beat the game with your favorite build once you've beaten the game and become a veteran AC pilot. - don't stay out in the open if your getting bombarded. Find cover and calm down. Take this time to reload your guns, regen your en and determine the position of the enemy. - be aware of your surroundings. Keep an eye on your tracker bar and use your radar. - stealth missions in AC6 = destroy-any-enemy-that-sees-you missions - pay attention to your firearm specialization and recoil control for your arms. These affect accuracy. - attack immediately after staggering the enemy. Staggered enemies recieve more damage. If you're too far for melee, just shoot them.
Hell Yeah! I've really been looking forward to seeing you play this, I know you are going to love it. I know you love to get invested in characters and this is probably the strongest fromsoft game for that, provided you can get over not seeing any faces.
I think we both know why I felt compelled to watch this tonight. Normally not my type of game but you've got me hooked already, looking forward to the next ep Chonker robots 10/10 A+
Let's go I'm so happy you started this! A really great game that I'm sure you'll appreciate. And I wholeheartedly believe that you don't truly beat the game until you play through it 3 times. Also, it's really great hearing Michigan's voice again, easily one of my favorite characters in the game.
HELL YES! lol AC6 was my very 1st AC game and I LOVE IT! You definitely have to do NG+ it unlocks more missions!! Like people have already said it’s not only rewarding it’s necessary! Looking forward to this series!!
Armored core 6 story is standalone. The name Raven is just what the AC pilots are called. Raven being here in this game is just a call back and has its own meaning explained later. Every numbered game is its own storyline like final fantasy. If you ever go back to the older ones try Armored Core 3. Beginner friendly
Yess I was really hoping you would play AC6! Already paying a lot of attention to the story and details as always, which is very appreciated since many playthroughs I've found of this game are just people shooting at stuff. Very excited for this 🔥

Yesss I was just thinking I should check out what new stuff you've been playing recently, super excited to see Armored Core!! You're way better at this game than I was at the start lol
AAAAAAAAAA I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE FINALLY PLAYING IT! I'm so excited! Hopefully we get to see you play through all the endings for the full experience!
It's always great to see more people play this as this is a phenomenal game. Also, especially glad to see someone who has a bigger channel play this as it might even draw more attention to one of my favorite games of all-time and get more people to play this. Definitely, interested to watch your full playthrough though I will say hopefully you will delve into the multiplayer after because it can always use more people. Anyways, hope you enjoy the game.
Welcome to Armored Core! I'm a huge mecha fan, and one thing that hits me every time i see that trailer is that the majority of mech pilots are 100% effed up in the head, borderline insane, same even sadistic, you can wreck the arms, the legs, the head, whatever, you can even blow off the cockpit hatch and leave the guy exposed, if you don't finish off that pilot, that mech will not stop until the mission is complete 😂.
Oh man I'm so pumped for this playthrough. Just beat the game fully a few months ago and it is a special experience ill definitely go back to a few times.
I didn't play this game right away when it came out, which ranks as one of the biggest regrets of my life now that I consider this one of my favourite games of all time. I think it gets incredibly gripping while never once stopping you from feeling like the coolest guy of all time in the mecha seat.
This was unexpected, but SO welcome! I can't wait! Edit: The anime that introduced me to mechs was Macross, aka Robotech. Awesome franchise, if you haven't watched them yet. My favorite is Macross: Frontier.
I'M SO STOKED FOR THIS. Not enough youtubers doing playthroughs of this since the game is a bit niche. I've seen a few quit after a couple of episodes too. I know you'll stick with it, though since you already enjoyed the first game. Hope you enjoy!
59:00 Those are my favorite legs in the whole game btw! The few stats u see when you look at something in the parts shop don't tell the full story (you can also toggle display to get many many more stats). In the description of the legs it says they're for 'light and highly agile' builds. They're also reverse-joints, which gives them extra jump height. I recommend trying things out in the ac test mode and reselling them if you dont like it, because you're right, they resell for the same price! This game really rewards experimentation.
Nice, I bought this game on release even tho I've never played a AC game before (or any mech game for that matter), really liked it, but somehow after ~14h I didn't continue. And now I've basically forgotten the controls (which aren't easy for me, especially if hold a controller like me and never have all 4 fingers on all 4 shoulder buttons in other games) So maybe watching this will finally get me to get back into it and finish the game!
One of the things I like about this game is that finally, you are the damn dog in a FromSoft game and elite military forces have all kinds of problems dealing with you.
Very well played and good aerial control already, with no deaths at the Helicopter or Juggernaut! My tip for you is to always check your weapons videos on the menu, as some weapons will have up to 3 different inputs: Button press, double button press and button hold. One example is your laser sword, which have all three inputs. Lighter parts may look weak in the stats, but they're usually faster and have higher jump and boost mobility, you might want to check the full stats by pressing triangle, like in Souls games, as the base menu doesn't show everything. This is specially informing for weapons and for arms, as they have some important stats for your build. That's it. Good luck out there, Raven.
Love your indigo and green mech! I made mine Chartreuse and Hot Pink, i love going hard on visibility. This was such a fun game, i look forward to watching you roll through it!
I've been looking forward to this playthrough! :DDD fun fact about AC6: it runs on the same engine as the Souls games, and is in fact to the same scale. Meaning, an AC (about 10 meters tall iirc) really is that much taller than, say, the Tarnished, and the entirety of the maps are scaled accordingly as well. Shit is INSANELY huge. Zullie the Witch has some videos on the subject, though I'd recommend watching it after completing AC6 due to mission spoilers. But I can tell you that the Strider covers approximately half of the Lands Between.
Hi Mapo Just a reminder NG+ change the game quite a bit with new and interresting missions and choices, and NG++ add a LOT of things more than NG+, and if you rush a bit the old content you can finish NG+ and NG++ in less than 10 hours, so i REALLY recommend it but to get the "secret ending" in NG++ you need to make the right choices.
9:05 they're different people. The guy Walter is talking to takes people in debt, implants cybernetics into them and sells them as pilots to people like Walter. C4 621, you, is a 4 generation augmented pilot. Hence the "4" in "C4" If you want a more in-depth look into the lore of AC6 after beating the game, i recommend vaati's video on it. Warning, it's +5hrs long.
Do remember selling items you've bought will return the full amount, so buying something and not liking it costs nothing, the issue is you can only use weapons you own during loadout changes during missions, which you can do this time around, so if you have a agility build and need more firepower you can switch to a tank build, but if you've sold off parts you might not be able to do that, especially if you have presets. You can just grind prior missions to gain more cash.
Oh man how did I miss this? This has been up for 3 days already? TH-cams bell don’t work. I’ve been waiting for you to play this for ages. I’m so happy.
My favorite game of the last couple years. I am a big armored core fan. 4 Silent Line was great but 5 was terrible. I can't tell you what a blast I had with this. And the changes in the newgame + and ++ story were great. Edit: You got the attack helicopter on your first try? The heck. That damn thing took me an hour and a half.
You probably noticed by now, but just in case: you don't get bonus credits for destroying things except when the mission briefing says so, so no need to mop up every enemy (except those with Loghunt icons next to their healthbar)
Armored Core VI is one of those rare games where NG+ and NG++ playthroughs actually change the story quite a bit (and also the ending).
Yeah you only actually finish the game on NG++
Yup, can't remember the last time I played a game back to back 3 times (actually I do, it was Bloodborne). Each playthrough halved the time it took.
yeah let hope mapo does
Oh, like Nier style?
@@nyuszicsib I only have experience with Automata, but yes basically.
Ng+ isn't just rewarding. It's necessary
Genuinely true. It's very much a Neir Automata situation where a lot of people just finished route 1 and didn't see the majority of the game
@shanagbaimuru3926 honestly it's not good game design precisely because of this. Tbh, the helicopter is a cheap ass, looking forward for the next bosses, this will be fun 😅
I actually died once to the helicopter Boss at another point because apparently if you use only Missiles then it'll spam flares non-stop
I'm honestly impressed he took down the Heli first try before even realizing the Pulse Blade has a second swing lol
Can i just say I love this guy. I remember watching his ds1 playthrough when it came out and he's still just doing what he loves.
"I won't miss" this playthrough
I took this as “I won’t miss it when it’s gone” not “I won’t miss the chance to watch this” at first and was a little confused 😂

And now I've basically forgotten the controls (which aren't easy for me, especially if hold a controller like me and never have all 4 fingers on all 4 shoulder buttons in other games)
So maybe watching this will finally get me to get back into it and finish the game!
I've been hoping you'd play one of my favourite games, nice early Christmas gift
Literally booted this up for the 1st time last night. Damn I’ve been sleeping on the armored core franchise. Combat gets my heart racing man!
But I can tell you that the Strider covers approximately half of the Lands Between.
ooooh no one of the games in my backlog. Will watch episode 1 and had theothers to the to watch list. keep up the awesome content
YESSSSSSSSS I'm so glad he's playing this. HELL YEAH
Good job beating the filter copter on your first try, and with less than 1k health lol, that was great.
And remember, ALLMIND is for all mercenaries.
I've been waiting so long for this!!
WOOO! I have been waiting for this one. I promise you'll want to do NG+ and ++
Love the mech designs!
9:05 they're different people. The guy Walter is talking to takes people in debt, implants cybernetics into them and sells them as pilots to people like Walter.
C4 621, you, is a 4 generation augmented pilot. Hence the "4" in "C4"
If you want a more in-depth look into the lore of AC6 after beating the game, i recommend vaati's video on it.
Your a recommendation in the Playlist and hope you have a blast with this game. I know I did and you definitely need to beat it for the other endings.
I hope you do all the endings!
"All or Nothing" - V.IV
Oh man how did I miss this? This has been up for 3 days already? TH-cams bell don’t work. I’ve been waiting for you to play this for ages. I’m so happy.
OH MY GOD GOOOOO FINALLLYYYYYYYY THIS SHIT IS GONNA SNEAK UP ON YOU AS ONE OF YOUR ALL TIME FAVS
I played armored core one and a little bit of three. Thoroughly enjoying how it has evolved and plan to get a copy of it when I get my hands on a PS5
Ohhhhh man!!!! It here. I will never miss this
Aaaah yes cant wait to see what you think of this game
I wish you a lot of fun
Wake the dog up, samurai
My favorite game of the last couple years. I am a big armored core fan. 4 Silent Line was great but 5 was terrible. I can't tell you what a blast I had with this. And the changes in the newgame + and ++ story were great.
Edit: You got the attack helicopter on your first try? The heck. That damn thing took me an hour and a half.
You probably noticed by now, but just in case: you don't get bonus credits for destroying things except when the mission briefing says so, so no need to mop up every enemy (except those with Loghunt icons next to their healthbar)
You should absolutely play up to new game++ as you get new missions new story new endings and new parts up to that point
That's So Raven
I genuinly think, at least after finishing the game, you should watch all Armored Core intro cinematics.
This was easily my favorite game last year
Every AC game is (essentially) disconnected from eachother- their stories are very self-contained. Enjoy the ride, it's a special one! 😁
LETS FUCKING GOOOO!!!! This game will not disappoint you. Trust me.
