  • Matcha Green Tea Mochi Cookies | 말차 떡 쿠키 | もち抹茶クッキー | 抹茶麻薯餅乾 年糕綠茶曲奇
    Rolling Mochi (rice cake), matcha, and a bit of chocolate into one! It is chewy inside, and soft outside. The recipe is not too sweet with major sweetness coming from rice cake and the chocolate chips. You could add more sugar to your taste! Hope you like it!

    ≫ Ingredients for Matcha Mochi Cookies (8 cookies)
    - 1/2 cup (60g) glutinous rice flour
    - 2 tbsp (25g) sugar, for mochi
    - 1/2 cup (125ml) milk or water
    -1/4 cup (60g) butter at room temperature, or melted
    - 2.5 tbsp (35g) sugar, for cookie dough
    - 30g egg (about half a large egg)
    - 2/3 cup (125g) all purpose four or cake four
    - 1 tsp (4g) matcha green tea powder
    - a handful of chocolate chip
    note:
    1. for this recipe, the cookie will crack a bit on the surface. If you don't like it cracking, just reduce the amount of mochi by 1/3, so that the cookie has a thicker shell and it won't crack!
    2. If the cookie dough is too soft to shape, you could chill it in the fridge for 15 mins, so that it will harden a bit and easier for shaping.

    Hello gala studio, I've never seen this type of cookie mochi?! before 😃
    Looks delicious. At first, I thought you're putting some read beans in the mochi, but
    it was chocochip! I wonder how it tastes. I'm pretty sure it's yummy though 💚

    hello, thanks for the recipe! i made it today and it turned out great 😊
    some tips for people planning to make this- my cookie dough turned out quite crumbly and difficult to work with, but adding a bit of milk helped a great deal. also, if the mochi is too sticky you can let it cool for a while.

    Would love to try making, if I don’t want the cookie to crack, reduce 1/3 mochi? Do you mean reduce glutinous flour 1/3?

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you don’t want to have any extra mochi, you could reduce 1/3 of glutinous flour, sugar and milk.
      Or you make the mochi following the recipe amount, but don’t use them all when wrapping the cookies. Use only 2/3 of the mochi, divide it into 8 portions. For the rest 1/3, they taste great on its own! I will cut them into mini bite-able size as snacks

    I want to make the cookies but sadly I eat slowly 😆 so how do you store the cookies? In the freezer or in a container? And how long do they last? Sorry for the questions and thanks for the recipe 💓💓

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sakott, thanks for your interest! I store my cookies in a sealed container at room temperature. Fresh Mochi will inevitably harden, and in my experience they stay soft and moist and taste the best in the first three days, so I recommend to enjoy them before it turns into rocks🤣

    請問為何打軟牛油後加雞蛋會出現一一顆顆的情況?雞蛋要室溫嗎?我是逐步加材料的

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      颗粒出现是油水分离的表现。
      鸡蛋建议是室温,且分次倒入,确保每次鸡蛋和牛油都充分融合再加更多的鸡蛋液。
      如果已经出现分离的状况,你可以先加入一小勺的面粉,再用打蛋器打至油水融合,然后再加入剩余的面粉。

    Btw are you able to make a mochi recipe without rice flour?

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm The traditional mochi is made from glutinous rice, and it requires continuous pounding. However I think this is too difficult to make at home...

    • @galastudio9

      Wynneth hmmm I don’t have a steamer and never tried it, but I assume you could do the following:
      Cover the mochi bowl with plastic wrap.
      Once the water is boiled, placed the wrapped bowl in steamer, turn the fire to small to medium, and let steam till cooked.

    I tried this, and it turned out chalky and flavorless. Not to mention I doubled the matcha cookie recipe so I have more than enough cookie dough to wrap the mochi. I am not sure what happened. Maybe my matcha powder is not as high quality. T_T I was really looking forward to this. Anyone else experienced the same thing?

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      我每次都是做完就吃了,按新鲜麻薯的经验是,常温放置三天就会变硬,所以这个饼干也建议三天内吃完。
      当然密封可能可以延长口感,但建议不要超过一周,毕竟没有防腐剂
