- This is a Tool Assisted Speedrun of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
In a 100% Speedrun the goal is to beat the game while collecting every Item.
The final RTA time is 2:57:01.567
The final ingame time is 2:09:40.433
My first Corruption TAS! After doing almost every possible thing I could think of in Echoes, I finally tackled Prime 3. This run is mostly a way for me to get used to the controls and the physics of the game. I want to do more Corruption in the future since but there are a few issues with the emulator which make TASing this game very annoying (look further down in the "rants"-section of the description if you want to know more), but all in all I had lot's of fun with this. The next project I'll work on will most likely be another Prime 3 run and I'll most likely improve this run in the future.
some rants about this run:
TLDR: This is a Segmented Tool Assisted Speedrun because of Emulator issues
Metroid Prime 3 is very stupid to TAS. It's prone to desyncs and if it a TAS desyncs, you can't enter the ship (or save stations) most of the time without softlocking. The only way to prevent this issue is playing the whole run from the beginning every time you start recording which of course takes very long after a while. Also doing it this way doesn't fix the desyc issue, it just reduces the probability of it happening.
So what's my workaround? I don't want to watch the 3 hour run just to see that I got a desync during the final boss fight! The answer is that this run is segmented and spliced. Every time I use the ship and land somewhere I re-enter the ship, save the game and end the recording. For the next segment I just start from the save and play until I reach the next possible save. Then I splice the segments together in a video editing program. This run consists of 17 Segments. - เกม

I want to tell you, by your effort and your hard work into TASing this game, you made at least one person happy. And I'm 100% certain I'm not an exception. Keep it up! ❤
Thank you so much for the kind words
AU: samus I see you are crawling in the walls of elysia, please go check the gfs valhalla
Samus: no
AU: ok, good day
Metroid games are just so different compared to everything else. Especially the soundtrack. This was an amazing run.
Tbh Prime 3 has a lot of bangers but it also has a lot of penis music
Finally a Corruption TAS I've wanted this for a long time from someone!
Wow, this whole TAS is incredible. I never thought I'd see the day Prime 3 would be busted open like this.
Watching speedruns, especially of Metroid, is pure ASMR for me! Thanks for uploading!
2:26:48 lol, that's amazing. This is my first time watching a sequence break of this game, it's great. Thanks for all the effort put into this, I've wanted a TAS of this game for very long
Although this took a lot of work, but I bet we agree that this TAS run of Prime 3 will sure make people feel impressed and happy at the same time.
3:02 I am surprised with how fast you twisted that, that it didn't just twist right off.
How do you only have 997 subscribers? You should have more than this because this is amazing.
My favorite Metroid game ever, what an awesome speedrun.
Honestly this is the first Metroid Prime i played and finish 100% and your run is incredible !
History has been made.
I like that OoB stuff is very different for each of the Prime games
i know its TAS but damn....my whole childhood reduced to less than 3 hours.
It's rare to see segmented TAS runs, didn't know Prime 3 was so prone to desyncing.
I managed to fix the desyncs in my newer runs using a newer Dolphin version and probably due to better settings

What even happened to Rundas? Was alive one sec with a full health bar then popped.
He was killed by the elevator
How in the world did 31:45 count as solving the hyper ball puzzle?
After looking around a bit, I may have found an explanation. The way the hyper ball puzzle works is that it has a counter that increases by 1 every time a orb is destroyed, and goes down by one every 3 seconds. The intended solution destroys all nine orbs instantly, which reaches the required number.By getting out of bounds however, they manage to do a trick that lets thm increase the count by 2 every 3 seconds, meaning they only have to destroy one orb 9 times to get through.
Anyone got any tips for the final boss on hypermode? I beat it once, ever. And then I deleted my save T.T
First some general tips:
- unless you're doing low% or some stuff, get all the Energy Tanks
- it's better to play slower without getting hit than rushing and taking damage all the time
now a few things for the phases:
Dark Samus
- use X-Ray when she splits up
- destroy the pillars, they give you health drops
AU313
- dodge the laser attack, it deals way too mush damage on hyper
- when it summons the 3 Dark Samus closes, use Hyper missiles to destroy them
Head
- use screw attack when it does the spinning attack on the ground, you can stun it if you manage to hit it
- again, if you have enough health, play slow and defensive
How long did the routing for this take
Not that long tbh, i took the route used in regular 100% speedruns and asked the world record holder if they knew any optimizations or strats too difficult for RTA speedrunning.
I think the route flows very well, except for that one missile at the end of Elysia 1, but you can't really avoid that with all the other optimizations done in this run
ship missiles? do you actually fight with the ship in this one?
There are a couple fights where using ship missiles is faster than any other methods, most noticeable in norion cleanup near the end of the run
Did I miss when you got the green beam?
I got it the frame before I died at around 1:36:40
2:54 wait you can despawn Ghor?
Wait, what’s the point of regrabbing it at 47:04?
The next room loads anyway so there's no time lost by doing this
@@MaskedTASah I see that makes sense
Also, what happened at 2:21:09? Did Samus just kill Rundas with her presence? Lmao
@@someonespc269 rundas dies when the elevator is activated when he's close to it
2:30:14 Excuse me, WHAT ?
o
wwwhat is goin on at 1:06:50
Very, very far out of bounds there is an invisible connection to the spire room. Touching the trigger activates the cutscene which usually starts after depositing the bomb.
@@MaskedTAS Whoa, how was this discovered?

You beat me to it lol
Doesn't work
this serious or?
@@amethyst6965 Nah we are joking don't worry ^^
If only this game had been made without the motion control gimmicks and without trying to push the other stupid Hunter characters they were trying to merchandize it would have been a 10/10. I still enjoyed it, but goddamn the other hunters from the DS game being there was so annoying.
I agree on the motion control part, but Rundas is a homie and the Metroid Prime speedrunning community made Ghor a meme. Gandrayda can go to hell though.
Also the three other hunters were not from the DS game btw
They're obvious glow-ups. Rundas is Noxus with the freeze beam, Gandrayda is Sylux (I'll believe that was his ship in post-credits when he shows up in 4) and Ghor is a more robotic Weavel. I identified this immediately as a kid. @@MaskedTAS
@@brokenbutterfly5589 They're still not the same hunters. Though you are correct with the ship in the secret ending belonging to Sylux. It's all but confirmed that he will be the main antagonist of Prime 4. I'm absolutely looking forward to that!
@@MaskedTASExplane the Ghor meme pls :)
Also how did you delete Gandrayda in seconds?
