I really love that fully serrated blade with the cutting hook; it's the most used tool on my beloved Charge TTI by far. I wish more tools featured it, because it always feels like I'm chasing thunder trying to find the perfect alternate/replacement multi tool.
To fix the front bit storage I put some thin plastic between the bits and the elastic part to guide in the bits. Protects the rubber, and solves the small issues with my DL30.
The tool looks great! I love it! The configuration is similar to my modified Leatherman G10 Charge Plus. I would love to see them do something different with the file. Adding a T-shank to the wave clone platform would be awesome!
I was so impressed with mine, it's now rotated into my EDC. The overall fit and finish is very good. The only two disappointments for me were the microbit screwdriver - not because there was anything wrong with it per say, I'm just not a bit fan of those in general. The main problem was the file: too short to be useful, and very crudely made. It looked totally out of place on what was otherwise a well-finished multitool.
@@tomperone9338 I think the tool is great as well! I think my dissappointment with these tools is they always seem to weigh a bit more than Leatherman. But as you say, tremendous value!
I got one of these and I like it for the most part. Scissors will get you by. I have a caution that may or may not be necessary. I found that my double sided micro- driver fell out and is lost. I never used it. Never pulled it out. I did swing all tools out initially to check it all out, but how and when lost the micro- driver , I haven’t a clue Appreciate
I bought one and it was disappointing. Felt cheap, and the blade actually stuck on deployment. Gonna try an SQT next, but I've been through Bibury, Daicamping, Rocktol, etc... seems like you roll the same dice with any of these Chinese brands.
This looks like one of the better options. I do wonder why the can openers are still on multi tools when they could swap them for more useful tools. But that's just me
@@Castleknight There are klein, Husky, and Dewalt detent double sided options I believe and more. I did have a video on them with links when the DL30 first came out which might help.
Is it possible to mod the scales on this one, like you did on the titanium dl7. I want to practice mod on scales but I dont know wich one to choose between the 2
Vg10 is a very good steel. Id prefer that with a good price instead on the ridiculously overpriced ARC. Personally I don't believe magnacut is worth a upcharge especially in a multitool. My favorite would be 14c28n. But Vg10 is a great steel for a multitool should hold a edge and be easy to sharpen. Certainly a huge stepup from 420hc.
I have the Gordon and just ordered this Rocktol because of the tool setup. My Gordon scissors worked twice and now won't correctly, folding in on themselves. Annoys me because I can't find one in store to exchange it and now is out of the 90 day warranty. Rocktol is a 5 year so I like that too.
Upgrading blade steel is justification for increasing the price more than the cost increase.
Rocktol has decent multitools, they make nice gifts. I gifted two of their "Wave" like models to a couple of my neighbors earlier this year.

If they would swap the file and serrated blade (big file on outside, small serrated blade inside) that would be dang close to an ideal toolset.
How is the pocket clip in terms of stability? One anchor point on such a long clip would seem to cause some lateral play?
Seems solid because part of it anchors into the handle because of a cut out.
Definitely a good clip @@hvacbudget8600

Are the handles comfortable? Also it looks like the ruler markings are somewhat deep so they should last long.
The handles are nice when using the pliers. A bit sharper when using the outside tools but not bad.
