Great video, only problem is For those people who own AWD it’s very difficult to fight around the rear differential box right in front of the sensor. Might be why you saw videos of guys tearing apart their engine to find the sensor as you mentioned viewing online in your video. It would be very helpful to rename your video to FWD not AWD so the next person with AWD doesn’t think it’s a easy job and might consider reaserching more into AWD. Thanks for the upload.
rookie - I actually got my traverse Awd up on a lift and was able to reach around the gear box and remove the sensor. It was very awkward and I wouldn’t recommend trying it without a lift. I had the check engine light for the timing chaining being warped and after replacing the sensor nothing changed. I ended up clearing the codes and trading it in.
Did this end up fixing the issue with on off vibrations? My awd Traverse sounds like it’s doing the same. Just replace egr solenoid myself and spark plugs, intake gasket and something else done at mechanics
i wish you would 've start the traverse to see how it goes; Some other car model need to synchronize the harmony balance tooth with the crankshaft position sensor otherwise the car won't start. (like mazda 3).
I have 12 traverse... the car have p0017 code the Mecanic said the problem is that crankshaft is not on the position correct my ????? Is how to fix this problem ( code p0017 )
@@LuisFlores-xr7gm How's it goin.. did that sensor fix your Traverse? We also have a 2012 Traverse same code and some other ones. I'm doing it tonight AWD ain't no joke.!!
This is a great how to for FWD. Throw in a rear differential for AWD, and the job becomes a little more complicated. Access to the crankshaft sensor almost become impossible. Trust me, I did it yesterday.
I have a 2008 Suzuki XL7...AWD ...pretty much same vehicle,GM rebadge with a Suzuki redesign on the 3.6(one fast hippopotamus)were you able to change the cps without a lift and without removing the transfer case??i am hearing a lot of “its impossible “without doing this or that (especially as it relates to my hippopotamus)and I’m not disputing that but I swear I think I found the damn thing and while it’s not gonna be the most comfortable place to work I feel an hour of cramped confinement maybe a busted knuckle or two is a damn sight more convenient than draining and removing the transfer case or manifold (as I’ve also heard)so just curious....did you have a lift and did you in fact remove differential?
@@blakebarber5750 I had driven my Enclave up on ramps, and set the parking brake, to allow me to back crawl under it. It took me awhile to find where this was, given that Lupe's video isn't on an AWD Lambda. But, with the rear transfer case in the way, I had to reach my arm up thru a small opening near the exhaust pipe and over the frame crossbar support to get to it. I have had no further crankshaft sensor codes popping since I did the change out. I didn't have to remove anything. It was just all in the way. And I feel you are right, the 1-2 hours and cramped quarters to replace the $40.00 CPS, was well worth it over going to the dealership for $4-500.00.
If there's no check engine light most likely it could be a mechanical part" something like the motor mounts, ball joints, struts or other linkage parts..
Is that the camshaft sensor to the right of the crankshaft sensor??? thank you for the video this is the only video that is accurate as to where the crankshaft sensor was located!!
Hey Lube Rosa i have the same problem. I been searching on youtube for weeks. N you are the 1st person that mentions the same problem i have. I have a 08 Gmc acadia . Like on the 2nd or 3 gear. It vibrates n goes away. They told me it was the solenoid . Had the 4 of them replaced n the throttle body. N still have the problem. So i just got the camshaft position sensor to change it. Cus now they told me its bad. N the crankshaft also. Been having this issue for like 5months or more n now one knows what it is. Pls if u got it fixed let me know. Thank u
Raymond Rivera ... I've already changed throttle body along throttle body sensor, ignition coils along with spark plugs the problems have gotten a bit better but now have episodes of the vehicle wanting to stall. I dont know what else it could be
I did changed the throttle body , n i was just thinking about changing the coils n spark plugs. Im going to try that.. thank you very much.. and God bless u and your fam.. thanks...
Hola le encontraste el problema de vibración a tu acadia? tengo el mismo problema y no se que es... si pudieras ayudarme con eso te lo agradecería..gracias que tengas buen dia.
Best video I've seen. Others have poor lighting or it's folks speaking different languages
This video really eased my worries thank you for your time and patience and attention to detail in this video 🙏 you are appreciated 💞

Question why did you change it in the first place?
Thanks for the video. I was able to find it in the same position for my 2010 Buick Enclave. It is easy to get at from there.
Ok so you must have taken a lot of things apart because my underside looks nothing like this. You never mentioned that 😒
Did you have a P0008 bank 1 error
I have that code p0008 do you fixed ?
Great video my brother .....happy New Years to you and your family 🙏
Did your car crank over for a little bit before starting. Like when you go to start the car it keeps cranking before it starts

Neon Blizzard thanks!
Thanks for the video.did you fix the problem.i have the same problem.
Awd is totally different to get to it
Did this fix your issue? Did you have any check engine lights? I have a P0017. The sensor at the end is a knock sensor fwiw.
Patrick Bedroske no check engine lights. Most of it was just searching the web and TH-cam. Vibrations continue will replace motor mounts next.
Lupe Rosas it’s the wiring harness on the crank shaft sensor receiving electromagnetic interference need to jump the harness with a replacement jumper
Patrick Bedrokske Did you fix your P0017 code with this? I'm having the same code on my 2011 Traverse.

what were the error codes you got from the check engine light

Crankshaft sensor. The knock sensor is located in front part of engine block right next to starter.
