So I just spend 4k fixing my camshaft and it was making that knocking noise! Steve better get that looked it. I got it fixed and no problems but now I have a vacuum leak but from this video, hose clamp problem solved!
The hose at the intake manifold will have nothing to do with you error code. That connection is after the electronic valve that closes and causes vacuum in the evap system. When the engine is running the valve is open and vacuum from the engine sucks in the fumes. You could disconnect that hose entirely and it would not give you a code. The system is monitored when the engine shuts down that is when possible evap vacuum pressure is lost and an error code is displayed. If I am wrong pleas feel free to correct me. Thanks Glenn
I was wondering if maybe you could do a video on how to make the hose that you use where to hook it and where to hold it on the fog machine? I think it would be rather informative if we seen a step-by-step?
This unfortunately can not be the cause of the P0456 code! When the system runs its self test for leaks it CLOSES the purge valve and vent valve simultaneously and checks for pressure drop in the system, which would indicate a leak. Therefore, the hose AFTER the purge valve, going to the intake manifold is not part of the test. It could be completely disconnected and it will not throw a P0456 code. You have another issue causing it. I'm sure by this point you've figured that out when the light came back on. Did you do a follow up video to identify the real problem?
The hose you repaired would not fix a P0456 code, you would have to smoke test from the purge valve back after putting it in a leak test mode with scan tool
I know I could spend a couple grand on the Snapon Truck and purchase their fog machine. But I like yours better looks like it doesn't cost a couple grand
truck failed inspection it said # 1 plug. so i changed all the plugs and coils. its still missing at the # 1 plug. will a smoke test show me where the problem is ??
Hello have the same problem I took it to a mechanic and couldn’t find the problem even with the smoke machine so he told me to change the gas cap and I did I put the original and it was ok for about 40 miles. And it came back. He mentioned that could be a computer problem
I got a small evap leak, just wondering where do I put the smoke machine tube in a 2007 jeep wrangler jk unlimited. Is it the top or bottom of the purge valve?

Have the same code on my 2016. That line was held on very tight though. Not sure where to look next after checking these three spots you pointed out.
That code can be anything right down to a loser or faulty fuel cap
