This video was great and to the point. p0456 CEL error. Did 2 inch Manifold hose replacement. AutoZone stock hose for $2 and light went out immediately.

I got that code on my Jeep. I took it to a shop and they quoted me $700 to fix it 😰. Ima try replacing those hose things first. Thank you

I got that code on my 2007 Jeep Compass. Cleaned the gas cap rubber ring and the gas tank inlet, it went away. Came back 1 year later, cleaned the gas cap rubber ring and the gas tank inlet. Came back almost immediately, so I coated the gas tank rubber ring with grease and that fixed it.

Mine had that code too! It called to replaced that same part that goes to the canister, also the gas cap light came on! I also replaced the gas cap, then I reset the computer by unplugging the negative on the battery. And I heard if the warning lights and engine light comes back after plugging back the battery! You might still have the problems with the evap system. So mine never lit up back again. So I guess it did fixed the issue. I also checked the hoses and they were still in great condition. Great tutorial though!

That hose you took off the leak detection pump is an inlet into the pump , that one does not contain fuel vapors, it is the air inlet into the pump

I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK it has the engine light on. I was told it was the evapor detector small leak does it have located on the same as a 2010 Jeep Wrangler ??

hello very interesting your video. id been having this problem with my 2015 jeep wrangler unlimited sport. one day this code pop up I took my jeep to auto zone to diagnose the problem and it was p0456. I then took the jeep to a mechanic and replaced the purge valve and the small canister on the bottom as-well after he smoked the evaporator system not finding any leak. few week later the code came back I when back to the mechanic as I got a 60 months warranty on the job. well he said it may be the gas cap. get an original and I did. code came right back then he also said take it to the dealer. that's $4000 use that I don't have what else can I do?

Hello, I am sorry to hear about your problem with this code. If everything was done correctly, look for TSB ( technical service bulletin) by the manufacturer. Maybe there is an update for the computer ECM/PCM to take care of the code.

What size is the hose??

I used 5/8" I.D. fuel line hose at valve on charcoal canister. Looks beefier than the original hose. My local Napa store sold me ~2 inches for $2

Incorrect on the cap. JK Wranglers will show, on the dash "GAS CAP" if not tight: wont show a evap small leak

That depends entirely on the year of the JK. I have an 2007 that did not show gas cap on the dash when mine was bad.
