    Great video! It was pretty thorough. Thanks for going the extra mile to show the EVAP system...saving this for future review for my 04 TJ.

    I was installing a trailer wiring harness and couldn't access the right side tail light connector without removing the charcoal canister. Left side was easy and took a couple minutes. I was losing patience with the right side trying to find the tail light connector and was on the verge of giving up and taking into the shop to have them do it. Thought I would try one more time, so did a search and came across your video. Thanks to your vdeo, I was able to move the canister out of the way and find the tail light connector. Finished the install on the trailer wiring harness and now I'm ready go camping. Thanks!

    I keep getting the p0455 code but I don't have anything on the gas cap, guess I am going to have to start digging deeper and see if it's something else.
    I can replace the cap first and see if that works but I'm not going to get my hopes up lmao

    Hey.. That's for the info.. Just bought a Jeep knowing it had an evap code.. but they didn't give me the code number.. you got me heading in a few directions.. It took 5 days before the code come on...I noticed that the purge vale was new(er) and the vacuum lines to it looked decent.. but I didn't know where the canister was and the gas cap didn't look too solid ..

    I have a 2003 TV 4.0 and am trying to replace canister. What is the trick to getting that sensor plug to unplug? This thing has a couple of hard lines on the inside as well, and it doesn't seem that the entire canister and mount will slide out. Any suggestions? Great video! Thanks!

    I have 2010 Jeep Liberty. It throws P0456 code. Already replaced gas cap, purge valve, canister and leak detection pump. Dealership wants to replace entire fuel tank system because they say there's "crack" on EVAP line fitting on fuel tank vapor control valve assembly. I asked if that part and hose can be only replaced? Dealership responded, no. I don't buy it. I have not yet to take it back to my local mechanic, but just that fuel tank vapor control valve and hose can be replaced without replacing entire tank, right? It runs little bit rough on idle.

    What would be making a chattering noise in the area of the charcoal canister? On a cold day I clearly hear what sounds like a relay chattering in the canister area? The chattering started and I let it go until I started getting the small and large EVAP faults with the check engine light. Now I want to fix the system. I changed the solenoid in the engine bay and changed the gas cap...no joy and the chattering noise still persists. Have not done a smoke check and I have followed all lines I could and the lines look good. Any suggestions would be great.

      The vapor leak detection pump is in the right rear near the canister. Let us know how it turns out.

    • @timmckenzie9679
      @timmckenzie9679 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ozzstars_cars Thank you for the reply. Would that pump make a chattering noise for a 20-30 second period only when the outside air temp is below 40 degrees or so? And if so, what would make it chatter like a relay making and breaking? I've had pumps whine when they start to fail but not chatter. Greatly appreciate anything you can provide to make me smarter on this system.
