As an owner and off roader of a second gen GX460, I can understand your preference for a lift gate over a swing gate. However, in my use, the swing gate is superior. It allows for a batwing awning, I have tables in the swing gate replacing the cargo and tool kit cover panels which we use all the time. The GX is an awesome platform! My children are coming up on driving ages, and now I'm looking for a GX for them! Also, the air suspension is only in the rear.
There's no air suspension in the front. And the rear air bags seem to all start leaking around 150-200k miles but are easily replaced with new bags or aftermarket springs.
I have a Toyota Sequoia, same mileage, same year and little to no service history listed as well. Not to mention it spent the first 100k miles in New England. The only problems I’ve had with it, rear latch failure, sunroof needed to be recalibrated and the tire pressure sensors finally took a sh*t on me so they need to be replaced. It’s a good truck although a bit of a gas guzzler.
