You are spot on Sam. We need to boycott cars which have price increases, Apple is the first company to target. Boycott the new iPhone. Send a message. Keep you old phone longer.
All prices increase over time. Apple keeps prices the same for many, many years before increasing. A lot of people thought Apple would increase the price last year because of inflation but didn't. It's not possible to keep prices the same if they keep adding more and more costly components. Absolutely, if you don't need or want the latest features then don't upgrade. or if it's already been a few years then get the less expensive one instead of the Pro model. Only the Pro models are rumored for price increases.
If someone is willing to pay over and they all sell out, a boycott is useless. A suggested retail price is the S in mSrp. It’s not fixed. It’s suggested by manufacturers. A dealer can do what they want. Do you know how many called dealers and said they will pay 10k more just to get the car? More than the amount of cars were built. Don’t be mad at dealer. Be mad at people paying extra. Their money is overpowering you. You are mad, so now you want to punish the dealer for accepting more money. It’s business. If you owned the business and had only a small limited run of cars and people wanted to pay extra, you would not say no. You would also sell for more. Especially in today’s highest inflation with overhead at highest levels ever. Dealers need that extra money to break even.
It's good looking for sure, but sorry I'm biased, I love my Infiniti Red Sport 400. I feel luckier that I was actually able to get one in RED exterior in last batch of production. 😅😢♥️🎉🏁

I'm still stumped as to why its not integra type R, instead of s. makes me wonder, 1st one was a type R........oh wait, what caR did you order then? CTR?
Tbh, I prefer the widebody integration of the Civic Type R more than the tacked on fender look of the Type S. I also have no idea what Acura was going for with the lower door body etching shape on the Integra. Other than that though, I do think the Type S looks better inside and out over the CTR. Especially the rear spoiler, over the still over the top CTR rear wing. I do wish both cars looked more contemporary though. Imo, the windshield rake is way too vertical.
I love this car, but i also have common sense. The only people i see buying this car at MSRP or even above are the honda fan boys. The performance is not there when compared to the competition. With the exception of maybe an is from lexus, itll get gapped by every single car in the same price range. S3 camaro, mustang, Cadillac, m240, ect
Ultimate Acura would be the 3.0 in my TLX Type-S paired with the 10 at or option 6mt in this car with an in-between body from both of these cars, and sh-awd in a 400whp, 3500 lb car. You'd have the sweet sound of the 6 mated with a buttery manual, all wheel drive, and light enough to go really fast. Why do I understand this, but Honda does not.
No, the 3.0t would not work in this car. Instead, your TLX should’ve been 3800lbs then it would’ve been perfect. What the Integra is missing is AWD and an auto option, it doesn’t need a V6, all the competitors have 2.0t four bangers so it fits right in line with those.
@drivescene6747 the tlx type s gets added chassis stiffness, the a spec shawd is 3900ibs while the fwd is 3700ibs. The second gen body is already stiffened from the first so they just kept doing with every change, I guess.
@@MikeYurbasovich Not that your imaginary car would be as good. The V6 engine height is too tall, the interior of the car is already too small compared to the m340i and it still loses against that class anyway.
The people of Ontario should fight to get the front license plates and stickers removed. Just need one. This looses the beautiful curvature of the car. ❤ Just so sexy
I have a ITS, I asked the dealer not to drill the front bumper, no issues yet. I am sure I will get pulled over sooner or later however. None of my last 3 cars have had front plates. I got one warning in the last 24,000km combined in them.
Maybe it's me but Honda dropped the ball with the new designs of the civic and accord. Had they kept the design of the last gen CTR , smoothed it out a bit but keep alot of it, it would look much better next to the ITS, whose curves make the new CTR look cheaper. I just wish it had a DCT since it's going for a refined aesthetic, and would have sold a TON of these with that. Even so it's on my short list even though I really don't want to row in Atanta traffic with Atlanta drivers
Why no brembos on the rear? most seem to use off the shelf mass production rear calipers.... shame. Nice street performance car. Track car, not so much. i'm still going to look at one once the dealer mark ups are abandoned. .
Amazing car, but this and the TLX are both about $7-10K MORE than they should cost imo. Right now I’m in a 2020 FBO ACCORD 2.0T TOURING, and I put a few grand into it and got it tuned with an FK8/10th Gen CTR Turbo, I’m making ~400HP at the crank and I scored the car new at the tail end of 2020 for $33K… I’m now looking to dump it for a Tesla model 3 Performance for $47.5K… and that’s not even factoring in the $7500 tax credit… or the additional $4000 offered in my state… So why would I want an Acura for more money that uses premium gas and costs so much more to maintain?! And that’s not even factoring in the resale values 🥴. Just doesn’t make sense unless you’re anti-EV.
I’m not necessarily anti-EV but to me there’s more to driving than just going fast. It’s the looks, the sound, the dynamics and engagement. Which this car seems perfect to me and is why I ordered one. If all you care about is a quiet nice ride and going fast while also not having to spend much money then an EV makes sense. I also don’t have the infrastructure near me to even consider EV yet, yes you can charge at home but I also have a fairly long commute to work and no place with a fast charger within 100km of me so if I ever ran out of battery I’d be stuck.
Neither the tesla or your tuned accord are as agile as the ITS currently is. Drive one and take some turns quick and you will realize why people praise this platform so much.
If Acura really wanted to piss you off. They would wait about 2 or 3 years, and push more Type S's out there ... and then push out a 325 hp minus 200 lbs version with a "Type R" Badge. 😅
I like this car but it's definitely priced too high. Same with the type R. MSRP Maybe 5-7k too high for both cars. And the mark ups are ridiculous. And why not put a sporty digital gauge cluster like the Type R??? I hate how these automakers put digital gauge clusters in only to make them look exactly like analog gauges. What's the point????
I won't pay over MSRP and never have. We got our '21 Stinger GT new for 35k and there's no way that the Integra Type S is worth 30-35k more with markups.
3:00 Similar yet different 9:00 No usable center set 13:30 Sound is different 15:00 More mature 15:40 $50k USD should’ve been max for this ITS. Overhyped. No sunroof (Acura?), no rear USBs, no 5 seater.
C'mon Sam just admit the ticky-tack fenders were a way to shave cost. It just kills the look for me knowing they were an after thought and just molded plastic bits tacked on to give it a wider stance(GR Corolla comes to mind). Why Acura went the cheap route on what is for the most part a more up-market car than the CTR just baffles me. Also, despite being the truth, stating the CTS makes more HP (a whopping 5 more than the FL5) is like bragging that the FL5 does 0-60 in .1 seconds faster than the Type S. Is there really a difference, no ! The main reason(s) you buy this car over the FL5 is because you want a Type R but want a softer more compliant version (and probably don't like the wing on the CTR- lol) . It could be argued that the ATS is not special in the sense that none of it is JDM. I know they share an engine but that's it. For purists the Type R is the closest you can get to a true JDM Honda right now and that its "special" is a big sell (as is resale value which the CTR will hold more compared to the ATS). To some this matters, to the folks who are purchasing the Type S it doesn't. The FL5 IMO is a better looking car from every angle. I also believe the wing on the FL5 gives it character and separates it from the lower tier civics. Again, the folks looking at this ATS probably feel the complete polar opposite and want a more vanilla bland looking rear end so the Type S fits the bill. Personally whenever I look at the Type S rear it looks like it is missing something(almost unfinished). Nevertheless, I cant argue stock the ATS sounds better but the FL5 is 1 resonator delete away from sounding practically the same. Honda def dropped the ball on the FL5's stock exhaust for sure but then again I don't understand the love for pops n bangs either. This feature is fun for the first few months of ownership then every owner will be turning it off because they don't want to keep looking like a teenage vaping delinquent. This being a more mature version of the FL5 I still struggle why they chose to put this feature on this car. Interior wise red is not everyone's cup o tea but the FL5 seats make all that dissent disappear once you slide into them. The perfect driving position and perfect amount of bolstering feels like you are an extension of the car (part of it). The seats in the ATS are well, seats. Where I will say the FL5 screwed the pooch is on the +R mode. Simply put it cant be used on everyday roads. +R mode is so overdamped it will knock your fillings out and have your head slamming into the roof worse than the bobble head effect of an old school STI. IYKYK ! Good news is you can easily swap to the Acura module in the FL5 to eliminate the +R tendencies and its relatively short money. Bottomline: Both of these are cars are almost identical save for a few bits here and there. Like most car buying decisions this will be subjective. The ATS is a sharp looking car but for my money its the FL5 all day long. Purchased mine under MSRP .
It’s a shame these cars are being marked up 15-20k over MSRP here in the states. I just can’t justify paying 65-70k for an Integra.
Yeah it should never cost more than the TLX Type S… people with too much money and too little sense are causing this.

It's funny reading these comments from people passing judgement on the car without driving it just bc it's FWD even though Honda makes some of the best FWD systems in the world. If you scan youtube for reviews on this car it's been nearly unanimous praise and approval for the ITS and yet commenters are all talking trash.
No memory driver seat (has an empty spot for the buttons 👎🏾). Manual passenger seat. No arm rest, A/C vents or charging ports for the rear seats. No sunroof option. Cheap cluster design. Excellent review Sam! I have a 24 RS3 on order already, but this review was so good it has me reconsidering my decision again!👍
I had an RS3 on order since summer 2022 and told maybe 2025 before I’d get an allocation. I reconsidered myself, checked priorities, checked the competition and ended up with the ITS. It’ll be here next month.
As someone who has a ttrs and works and built multiple type rs. I'd wait 5 years for a rs3 if needed over getting this. It's not a bad car but it's just not comparable.
@@germanengineering204 just put it this way. You have one of these. Hybrid turbo tune all the bolt ONS. 10k easy. And a bone stock rs3 with just a reflash will just eliminate it. Roll or dig. You are spot on Sam. We need to boycott cars which have price increases,
Apple is the first company to target.

Should have got it!!! Did u drive the last one, the last generation type r?! This car is great especially at msrp!!! 🎉🎉❤❤😊😊
Hi Sam, Excellent review. Just a quick question. Are the rear fenders rolled to allow larger wheels?
Tbh, I prefer the widebody integration of the Civic Type R more than the tacked on fender look of the Type S. I also have no idea what Acura was going for with the lower door body etching shape on the Integra. Other than that though, I do think the Type S looks better inside and out over the CTR. Especially the rear spoiler, over the still over the top CTR rear wing. I do wish both cars looked more contemporary though. Imo, the windshield rake is way too vertical.
I agree with the "tacked on fender look". It looks like a modified car from the 80's and I'm a bit disappointed with that.
It has the FK8 front bumper and plastic wide body parts the type R is a true wide body and new look but it does still look nice overall
Car looks great but lacks in the luxury department, Also the audio sound is emotional, it’s 2nd to none.
This is pretty much a type r but more chill and mature. There is nothing wrong with it except the price of course 😂
I have to know, Sam, what car did you choose for a daily?
Sam???
For the price obviously you can get performance suv AWD and a lot more luxury.
I love this car, but i also have common sense. The only people i see buying this car at MSRP or even above are the honda fan boys. The performance is not there when compared to the competition. With the exception of maybe an is from lexus, itll get gapped by every single car in the same price range. S3 camaro, mustang, Cadillac, m240, ect
none of those cars would be daily-able with a new born, rear facing child seat & stroller
@@drivescene6747 That may be, but you're ruining my imaginary car.
@@MikeYurbasovich lol sorry man
@@MikeYurbasovich Not that your imaginary car would be as good.

How do you feel about the seats in the Type S vs the Type R ?
I have an ITS. Seated in many CTRs.
If you ask me, I prefer the CTR seats support. They hug you.
Type R seats are more snug and track suited. The Type S seats are more soft and better for road trips.
Je reçois la mienne ce soir!! 😊 apex blue, après 4mois d'attente
Should have been AWD. 💯
Disagree for this car
Why no brembos on the rear? most seem to use off the shelf mass production rear calipers.... shame. Nice street performance car. Track car, not so much. i'm still going to look at one once the dealer mark ups are abandoned.

This car or the Alfa Romeo Julia 4 cylinder??
Press 1 for Alfa and 2 for Acura.
What car did you order?
Just doesn’t make sense unless you’re anti-EV.
haha what state are you in?
I’m not necessarily anti-EV but to me there’s more to driving than just going fast. It’s the looks, the sound, the dynamics and engagement.
Which this car seems perfect to me and is why I ordered one. If all you care about is a quiet nice ride and going fast while also not having to spend much money then an EV makes sense.
I also don’t have the infrastructure near me to even consider EV yet, yes you can charge at home but I also have a fairly long commute to work and no place with a fast charger within 100km of me so if I ever ran out of battery I’d be stuck.

Yep
If Acura really wanted to piss you off. They would wait about 2 or 3 years, and push more Type S's out there ... and then push out a 325 hp minus 200 lbs version with a "Type R" Badge. 😅
I like this car but it's definitely priced too high. Same with the type R. MSRP Maybe 5-7k too high for both cars. And the mark ups are ridiculous.
And why not put a sporty digital gauge cluster like the Type R??? I hate how these automakers put digital gauge clusters in only to make them look exactly like analog gauges. What's the point????
I'm interested but do love the Golf R. It has a race cart type of ride. I need to test drive and compare. The type S does look better.
I won't pay over MSRP and never have. We got our '21 Stinger GT new for 35k and there's no way that the Integra Type S is worth 30-35k more with markups.

Agreed. @acurausa please stop this.
