Thanks again for always keeping us updated on this with a bit more intimacy instead of just an "on the surface view" kind of update. So far, the car feels great (stock) but I really can't wait for the Spoon street spec car to get to 100%. I've been holding off to let the R&D be conducted by the people capable of doing so. The heating failsafe has been the only complaint by most people taking these to the track. However, when you tune, it's logical that an increase in power would require an increase in cooling. That's the biggest reason I've been holding off on tuning it.
Oh I love that kind of q&a format with Jomoto san! Always learning something new. Thank you so much Jomoto san for your time and effort to bring us the tech side. Please please more content like that! ❤
I'm on track to getting this cars brother in a suit, the DE5! so much goes into these cars, and Spoon knows exactly how to improve them, little by little without destroying the integrity of the car!
Not sure if it's been mentioned but the side "kicks" (fake vents you suggested to cut and create a duct) are actually a functional aero component that creats a slight high pressure zone in front of the kick, thus encouraging the air to follow a path directly along the face of the wheel, down the side of the car.
Im saving for a fl5 type r almost have the msrp for it I really like the body style and specs. I may even sell my evo 8 maybe but im waiting for these mark ups to go away 😢
so Question 2 is basically like the current issue with the new bmw G8x platform. which is kinda sad that this is the road thats being taken which would make a lot of people not want to modify their cars in the future when newer cars become older. alot of people dont want to ship their ecu or risk something going wrong with it or else your whole car will become paper weight
Very interesting in depth look into the FL-5…. Definitely makes me want one even more lol 😅 Honda really but their blood sweat and tears into this car…
Maybe Albo is not that comfortable in japanese especially when it comes to tech talk. I love how Jomoto san is making the efford to explain the tech side to all of us non japanese fluent viewers!
@@nfspeedy2 I don't know he seems pretty comfortable with Japanese I think, definitely big up for Jomoto san for explaining so much in english for sure! Personally I don't speak japanese one bit but in my opinion it would be more natural. Good comparison to this is Noriyaro, you might know him, he's from Australia but when he talks with Japanese people he just subtitles it and the interactions seem really natural.
I was wondering about that myself too. To date I have yet to see any mention of oil cooler kits and also proper tow hook mounting for the FL5 from the hero brands. While it's nice to have shiny bling parts to impress your peers at car park meets for me my priorities are keeping the oil and water temp in check at the track after multi laps before I tune car up for more power. May be the R&D of the cooling kits takes a long time to recover as most owners by and large priorities power and appearance upgrades and only a very small portion of FL5 owners would go to the trouble of forking out and installing aftermarket oil coolers and racing radiators. Most frustrating as my B16a eg, ef and em1 all have heat exchangers at the oil filter sandwich plates and the FL5 has none! Just like the SOHC D series engines. They do fit such setup to cool the transmission though lol...
im sorry, every exhaust manufacturer has so far done nothing but make this sound like a vacuum cleaner. they have to figure out what the Type S has and how much timing was pulled/added to make it sound so much better. also give it the same mid range torque.
If i was spoon id stay away from the American market theres a huge crack down from the epa thats already started and its not gonna be good especially for those playing with ecu’s and tuning
I love Jomoto-san's approach to vehicle tuning! It's all about fine-tuning the small details that culminate to make a great car even better.

Great video. I keep seeing this guy on hot version when Tsuchiya drove the FL5 in Tsukuba. He's the one making adjustments after each Tsuchiya lap
Great video, straight from the source. Excited for what’s to come with spoon🔥

Great video with coffee this morning! Incredible content, Albo! Cheers ☕️

Thank's for this amazing content ! I been there once in my life !
Great interview! Thank you Albo & Spoon!
Awesome video as always Albo. The FL5 is so awesome I know that your getting one in red but I think the best color for the FL5 is the Black.
i wish jomoto san would start his own TH-cam channel, but i understand his job takes up a lot of his time
So you can just walk in and it’s okay? I’m def trying to stop by in October.
I’ll be in Japan in October told the fam we are visiting this shop for a whole day need some stuff for my jdm dc2
Yes it's open to the public, BUT don't expect this treatment lol.
i just found this channel and the fact you own a honda s2000 makes it so much cooler, subbed.
Great video Albo!, hope you can do 30 questions for other famous tuning houses in Japan as well
Im saving for a fl5 type r almost have the msrp for it I really like the body style and specs. I may even sell my evo 8 maybe but im waiting for these mark ups to go away 😢
means we can put fl5 subframe into fk8. everything from fl5 to fk8 is interchange handling wise. like ek to eg.
When you asked about cutting the bumper, he basically said you’re not smarter than Honda 😂 cuz I thought the same shit
Question, what did they say they done to the intake/front bumper area to help ?
Hey @ALBO is spoon gonna release their side mirror sets for the fl5?

Just met him in LA, very very nice guy 😶🌫️
Can’t wait to visit the shop in October I’m going to spend a bag
Spoon needs to develop an external oil cooler, while the radiator helps but won't help that much without an oil cooler
so How can we find the Spoon demo car suspension setting with SW388 18″9.5J +40 5H120 ??
Great video
3:31 that rear end of that car driving in the background caught my attention 😂 wonder what it is
Think it's a Toyota Crown
Isn't that a Prius with the spaceship looking back
Very interesting in depth look into the FL-5…. Definitely makes me want one even more lol 😅 Honda really but their blood sweat and tears into this car…
Sooo springs does look higher in the front then the rear
So i wonder which will be better per research. 18 or 19 inch? 😊 if i ever get to have a type R i want him to sign mine! 😂
For me it’s best use 18 inch.. more proper looks than 19..
That it have the spoon air filter?
No tuner wanna try on E-HEV?
I wish they would just talk in japanese, it would be way more fluid and comfortable for Jamoto-san. Nothing's bad with subtitles.

Let’s gooooo !!
Looks so mean. Really suits the car.
The cooling???

Whats the latest brother?

acura deleted the front resonator with the Type S exhaust. Also some minor software differences
