That was easy to understand. There are lots of videos on this subject. They create more if a problem than solve. They make you feel thick and make themselves look clever! I hate them. That was brilliant!
Thank you! I am so glad you were able to understand and appreciate the info I presented here. Yeah, it's really not hard at all.
Thanks for breaking this down. I've always used my lights in sound mode, and I'm starting with zero knowledge of dmx control. It can be confusing and frustrating trying to learn dmx programming without someone to walk me through things. You covered some important basics, very well explained and demonstrated. To dummies like me its not easy without help! Your video made it easy. Much obliged sir.
So glad it was helpful to you!
The most straight forward breakdown of dmx I ever seen huge thanks bro.
You're welcome!
You've made this so simple and straightforward thank you!
You're welcome!
Loved the simplicity, so much easier for me to follow. Cheers.
By popular demand!!! This is awesome thanks for this man!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for great video men I have dmx controller just never used it's since so complicated I always use sound mode i have a big wedding next month I will be using up lightning on lights for dance floor watching your videos you explain so well I will be ok for that's day thanks bro for that s excellent video
You're welcome. As you see in my video, it's really not that difficult at all. Good luck to you with your big wedding next month.
Just got a 192 and this is by far!!! the best demo tutorial on the web , I got the controller to be able to controller my stage LEDs bars , I also bought the foot switch pedals , if I DmX the 4 LED lights each side of my band as well as control with my 192 can I also the footswitch controller at the same time ? the stage lights I have are the stairville CBL2.4's I have the footswitch for each bar , but maybe I only need to stomp on one since the bars are connected , maybe you might do a demo on this for us , but seriously great video , thanks in advance for your time , 👍
I'm glad the video was helpful to you. I am not a dmx expert by any means. I just made this video to show the basics of dmx programming because that's all I know. Good luck in the future and thanks for your comments.
Thank you for the video. I have the same controller and had no idea how to program it
Hope this video helps and you can see how extremely easy it is to program.
Thanks man, your video helped me a lot, very good work👏👏👏👏
You're welcome! Glad it helped you in some way.
And I see you out there, keep up the good work!
Thanks!
Great detail on setting up lights.Do u have a video on moving heads?
Thanks!! Unfortunately I do not.
You make it look so easy Brother
Lol... that's cuz it is easy! 😁😁😁
@@DJ2Legit007 I’ll bring that light bar over in about 2 weeks
@@TeeBizz Lol
Awesome Video Thank you for sharing!!
Are you on Facebook??
You're the best brother..... thanks for the info.
You're welcome!
Great Video Sir!!! Really appreciate it!
Awesome bro. With the remote if I have these all over room. I can have one master and rest slaves, and if I want to switch it to sound mode will they all set to sound?
Actually I misread your question. If you use them as master and slave and set to sound mode, then yes they will be in sync. If you use the IR remote for sound mode, they won't be in sync.
@DJ 2Legit now I'm happier... lol...
Your the man!
Thank you bro!
Great breakdown, brother... I have a bunch of RF1 and RF4s. I also purchased the IR4 from Rick Webb, but unfortunately, the RFs don't stay synced with the new IR4 in DMX mode.
Really? What a bummer. I was considering purchasing 8 of the IR4s just to add to my collection. In DMX mode, the RF4s and IR4s are both slaves to the controller so everything should be in perfect sync. I don't see why they aren't in sync for you. My buddy has some IR4s coming in next week. I'll borrow one and test it. Thanks for the heads up!
@DJ 2Legit That's what I said... I purchased them to have the freedom to program the IR4 to any DMX channel and slave everythingelse to them... when I tested them, I had all my RF1 & 4s slaved to the IR4 in DMX mode, and unfortunately, all the RFs would initially run as expected, but one by one they kept dropping off. Now, if you slave them to the IR4 while the IR4 is in Remote mode, they work flawlessly... thats how I've been using them. You can see them in action on my giglog.

@Southern Comfort Entertainment Ahhhh okay. I understand what you're saying now. When using dmx, you must come out of master slave mode and let your dmx controller communicate with all the lights, not just the IR4 master. That should fix the problem. Master slave mode should only be used when using the IR remote.
Thanks, Legit. One question I have is, would it be possible to show how to chase multiple lights? For example, if you have 20 lights around a room and you would start on the right side and the lights would chase to the left side and then go back to the right, back to the left, etc. Thanks, Legit.
The DMX controller only gives you 12 fixtures. To do what you want, you would need 20 fixtures. You could chase 2 lights at a time though. If you had 24 lights, just program 2 lights per fixture to do what you want.
This was great! For some reason when I programmed a Chase under bank one and then I programmed a different one based on scenes I hadn't Bank to when I press the auto button it runs a chase that goes through all of the colors I have under scenes in bank one and then automatically keeps rolling and plays the scenes in bank to and then it starts over. Why is it running from bank-to-bank? I only wanted to run One Bank of time... Any thoughts appreciated you are putting up great content!
Hmmm good question. I will experiment with that as soon as I get a chance and let you know my findings.
@@DJ2Legit007 bro, thank you for your reply! You are a real deal TH-camr because you reply quick and appreciate things. Thanks for giving to the community and making it fun to watch! Hopefully you'll figure out what's going on with it running through multiple Banks races. Everything else I feel pretty good about, thanks Mark
I just bought the rockspot movers. I've been messing around with this controller also. I've been messing with the gobos, colors, etc but when I hit the sound mode button, the light flashes on the controller but the light doesn't do anything.... Thoughts?
I've never used those lights before so I really have no idea. Sorry.
Awesome video’s as always! Like others, I appreciate you taking the time to show us “how to”, to make us all better!
I do have a question though. In the beginning of your video you typed on the screen “make sure your dmx controller is on the RED channel”. How does one do that??? I have the Rockville Rockforce 192 with a Donner wireless transmitter plugged in the back of the controller. I’ve placed my RF4 on the “Red” (light blue”) channel and I get nothing. I’m not sure what I’m NOT doing right. Any ideas……???
Thanks again for your time Sir!
All you have to do is set your donner to the actual RED color. Donner on red. RF4 on light blue. Donner will start blinking green when connected.
@@DJ2Legit007 Didn’t even think of that! Thought bcuz the transmitter started blinking red when plugged in that it was on the “Red” channel. Nope! Had to change it. Thanks again for your help and insight!
@@tkanglin5655 I thought your next question was gonna be, "Okay, how do I set the donner to the red color?" Lol... glad you figured that out. Now you're all set. Congrats and have fun with dmx programming! It's super easy!
Good job thanks
Great setup my friend...
How long did it take to have those lights shipped??
They say 15 business days. Mine arrived at 11 business days.
Can you pair the Rockville RF4 (single button) with the Both Lighting IR4 with display to all work together as master/slave? I’m having trouble syncing the brands together.
To the best of my knowledge, no you cannot.
so ? i got the same controller as u? u got any videos of how too get the music butoon too work up stobe light?????
Unfortunately, I do not.
How do you do your billing? Do you use honeybook or?
I don't use any specific programs. I just send a contract and request a deposit.
Just a question; why didn’t you go for the Rockville mini rf3s or rf4s that allow you to DMX 4 different channels and have 4 different sound modes and are basically the same price and have US based support? I enjoy your videos and style 👍
The answer is quite simple. I bought these lights last year. At that time the Rockville mini rf4s didn't exist. Going forward I will buy Rockville rf4s.
@@DJ2Legit007 Thanks, I didn’t know the others were out that long ago. I was very lucky to have gotten an Ape labs Maxi case about 2 years ago for a ridiculous price ($700 for the 6 in the case and again a 12 pack of the cans w the case for $800) and just got the Rockville rf3s because I like the tri led look like the Maxi’s and they perform great for the price. There really is no reason to go broke trying to make money. I’m sure you feel me there. Keep up the great videos 👍
Can this connect to a Donner transmitter or does it have to be with the Rockford?
Yes it can connect to any transmitter. It doesn't have to be the Rockforce W2.
how would you setup a second light independently to receive on scanner 2? I'm missing the key to this, all i can do is get all my lights receiving on channel 1 and nothing from the others.
Set the 2nd light's dmx channel to D016 or A016. Then turn on scanner 2.
How do you use your rockville wedge and chauvet 4bar with you rockforce w2? Please I can't figure it out.
It's very easy. Just follow this video and apply it to the Rockwedges. I don't have Rockwedges anymore so I can't really walk you through it.
I got the wedges to work, my problem is with the 4bars.
I haven't tried to use a cable yet. Maybe I'm not getting a good signal with the 4bars.
How many lights can you program on one controller?
12 different lights, but the number of lights is limitless. So for example you can have 10 lights of one type, 20 of another, 30 of another, etc... until you reach 12 different lights. Hope that makes sense.
@@DJ2Legit007 So could I connect 35 lights to the same controller?
@@djpram1 Yes
@@DJ2Legit007 cool thx bro , I will be purchasing this lights in future for sure , you have theses how do they feel like are they well made. Like is the out side metal ? Or plastic etc
@@djpram1 They feel great! Awesome build quality! You won't be disappointed. No plastic cheap feel.
Good video thank you. However please do not say something is easy. Everything seems easy once you understand and know it. The first time I saw some of these nothing seemed easy. I come from audio and nothing compares to how you use or programm audio :) It does not work intuive at all. You have to know the steps and meanings first. You explained it well.
Ok sorry. It just seems so easy to me. Glad you liked the video.
