Just received mine. I got the both Ir-4 versions, same as yours but they have the screen on them like the rockville wedges. I will be running mine through sound switch on my denon prime go and prime 4 mixers. Thanks for the idea of running the wires under the foam. Keep em dancing!

What's wrong with the chrome
I've got those Lalucenatz lights, and they're great for the value. But seeing them get blown away right now, and the lack of dmx unless you use a dongle, no RF remote, and now you've mentioned battery deterioration after long-term, it's time to upgrade. Great video, as always.

Them lights are cool
Great video!! Do all of the lights in the room respond to the single controller? For example if you want to switch them all to a fade mode, strobe mode will they all change at once or do you have to go change each individually?
They all respond to the one remote! They all change at once.
Is there a sound active mode on the lights. Coming from ape labs which are amazing, but extremely expensive. Have you tried other lights like the tubes with these uplights. Great video
Yes these lights have active sound mode as well. And yes I run all of my lights (including the tubes) at the same time controlling them all with Soundswitch. ZERO problems or issues.

i have the rockville version. im a lil pissed you cant change teh DMX channel(only 1-10) but they are great lights !

Awesome video, thanks for putting this out. I have several of the ApeLabs, and for the price I might try these out. Can one remote control all the lights like Ape Labs ? Approximately how long is the battery life?
By the way, RF stands for radio frequency and IR stands for infrared
Yes one remote controls all the lights simultaneously just like Ape Labs. Battery life is approximately 10-12 hours.
yes one remote will control all the lights the only downside these lights have which to me is not a big deal is they all work on 1 dmx channel. You can change all the colors flawlessly but you can't make one light red and another light blue because that would require 2 dmx channels. All in all these are a great investment and a good bang for the dollar.

Hi great video! I know that you have rock wedges, are you eventually going to sell them to buy more rf4s? Also, any reason you bought the both r4s instead on the rockville rf4s?
I used to have Rockwedges. I sold them after I got the Both RF4s. I didn't know about the Rockville RF4s at the time. Still happy with my Both RF4s though. No desire to go with Rockville now.

@@coicoucoicou None. Easy to transport and easier to set up because they are so small. That does it for me.

How do you compare your new lights to the Rockville up lights you already have. The same better. I like the price on the new lights compare to the Rockville up lights. Very nice lights for the buck.

Can you make one of your new lights as the master and then the Rockville lights can be the slave? Would that help with better signal for the Rockville lights?
@@chrisfejeran4401 Nope sorry. Not possible. These 2 different lights can't communicate that way. As far as the signal to my Rockwedges from my dmx controller, it's absolutely perfect AS IS. :)
I do love these. Can you confirm if they sync up with rockwedges? My main con about these lights those power adapter cables are bulky as hell I’d rather charge them at home with my 18 outlet powerstrip but they are too bulky for the powerstrip…not everyone needs a case. Cases just take up more room in my vehicle i prefer to store them in tote bags.
Yep. They sync perfectly with the Rockwedges.
@@DJ2Legit007 sorry i meant the best par 60’s i don’t use a dmx controller the best par 60’s have the wireless antenna so it acts as a dmx controller. I just feel the dmx controller is too bulky and takes up a lot of table space. I use 1 best par 60 to sync all my rockwedges and the range is still pretty impressive.
Btw i do have the same dmx controller but instead stopped using it cause my best par 60’s do the exact same thing with the remote instead. Always trying to simplify my setup.
@DjTecniq Unfortunately I don't have a Best Par 60, so I can't 100% answer that question. I can say as long as the Best Par 60 can transmit on channel 1, the red channel, then the Both RF4 should follow as that is the only channel it can receive from.
How does the RF-4 sound mode compare to Ape labs Musik mode?
I don't know. I never touched an Ape Labs light before. I would guess and say the Ape Labs is far better though.

With the remote, if you change, color on one light will the others change?

What’s the maximum distance you get when using remote control? My rockville wedges don’t get much distance.
I don't know. I haven't tested that yet. You're right about the Rockville wedges though. You have to be right on top of the light to get it to work lol. These are not like that. At my gig last week, I know I had a light at least 75 feet away from me and the remote worked with no problem.
The rockwedges only have an IR remote so you have to have the remote pointed directly at the sensor. These use an RF remote so you get a better signal. I had a small Sunday wedding at noon after a late party night and just grabbed a case of these and a remote. It was in a decent size American Legion and was surprised to see that they all reacted so well to the remote.

Still working as good today as the day I received them and I use them regularly at gigs every week. Nope, they never heat up in the case when I charge them. Be sure to keep the case lid open while charging.

How do you like these lights compared to your Rockville rock wedge battery powered everything
I sold the Rockwedges after I got these. Just didn't have a use for them anymore. So evidently, I like these way more lol.

I've used them on multiple gigs so far and keep them on either sound active or a color changing program the entire gig. 4 to 5 hours I've used them at a time and the battery is still half full at the end of my gigs.

The IR4s have a menu and can use more than just the red channel. The RF4s use an RF remote so you don't have to point the remote at the light. Never ever had any issues with any of my lights from Both Lighting. Best lights ever, imo.
I just got 8 IR4s. Hopefully, I will not need to use DMX.
@manidelgado The hand held remote works great if you put your lights in master / slave mode.

Yes. One remote controls all the lights simultaneously.
Did you have to pay for any custom charges?
Nope. None at all.
How far away does the remote need to be from the lights for them to work?
I don't know the exact distance. I know I've had the remote at least 60 feet away with no problem.

These only have one dmx channel. Rockville also sells the one diode version of this light
Yep. Both also sells the one diode and 3 diode versions of this light too. Someone told me that Both lights and Rockville lights come from the same Chinese factory.
How much are they ?
Depending on where you order them from, they can be anywhere between $80 - $100 per light.
