  • This is my unboxing, review, and how to start to program the CO-Z 192 DMX 512 Stage DJ Light Controller found at amzn.to/358wi53.
A lot of times you don’t need the crazy expensive DMX board for your lighting of special effects needs. A lot of times, you just need a handful of controls while still being able to do some basic programming. The CO-Z 192 DMX lighting controller fits this need perfectly. With 192 groups of channels, it controls up to 12 intelligent lights of up to 16 channels each. It is also able to control up to 12 fixtures as well as up to 240 scenes, enabling you to set up complex shows. While this controller may look a lot like the Chauvet Obey 40, you will see that it does have some differences, with some that I think are a positive change.
While shopping for this controller on Amazon or another retailer, make sure it’s from CO-Z. There are a lot of brands out there that look exactly alike, but they have differences as well; especially the power source, as shown in this video.

Good basic info on this unit. I purchased this same unit about a year ago. I like the unit, I use this for a garage band set up. I never have an issue and operate it for 3-5 hours at a time with no problems. This has survived 14 months in my garage longer than most drummers lol.

Great video. I’m looking to get a basic small set up for my home studio. I’m just trying to learn the basics. Can you run this in a small room without dimmer packs?

It only runs dmx. So you need something that could accept the signal

I got the CO-Z DMX192 lighting controller.. Thanks for your review.
I wonder if you can help me (a parent volunteer for a school play). I'm having issues with the relationship between the lighting controller board and the mini LED PARs.
After playing around a bit, this is what I'm experiencing:
When I disconnect the PARs from the DMX512 controller, the "d" in front of the three-digit DMX address is solidly lit -- BUT when I plug in the DMX cable from the controller CO-Z board, the "d" in front of the 3-digit DMX address starts blinking rapidly.
There is no switch on the controller which would reverse polarity. I am using DMX cables. I have powered lights and controller off and on in various sequences. (The number in the controller LED is 120.)
The blinking happens even if I just have one PAR light connected to the controller, but also if I have all the lights in the daisy chain connected (and when daisy-chained, the group is properly terminated).
I've tried resetting scenes and chases holding down arrow and program (or down arrow and add) buttons simultaneously. I don't know if there is some other way to factory reset the board.
But bottom line, the PARs will not respond to the lighting control board -- though at one time they did.
I'm stumped and hoping the controller hasn't gone bad (out of warranty).

It could be anything. But since you are trying to control channel 120, have you made sure that you selected scanner 8? (if my math is correct)

Hi, I'm trying to follow u step by step but on my co-z channel one is not a master it activates red not like on your controller where channel 5 is for red can u please help?

The board doesn't decide what each channel does, the light does. Every light will have different channel assignments. You will needs to read your lighting fixtures instructions

So this might be a dumb question but I'm not understanding how these boards save creations. I get that while programming and playing back it's storing it but that seems to be temporary, correct? How do you create a sequence then store it so that months or years later you can pull it up with a song, as an example, and replay it? Wouldn't this make a computer set up better? Thanks.

When I save, it stays saved until I save something new over it

can you create scenes and then have the board just play them in sequence with no operator intervention?

    • @williewhite6546
      @williewhite6546 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes. That is referred to as a chase. The instruction manual will show you how to set it up. When your run the chase you can choose how fast it cycles through and can also set it to sound mode to change through the scenes based on audio input - sound mode is quite bad though it picks up everything
