literally the best looking EV truck. Possibly the best out. the range is incredible too, as proven by JerryRigEverything, it ACTUALLY gets 450+ miles of non towing range. INCREDIBLE.
@@illuminape7632 I recently saw Caranddrivers test and it averaged almost 2 miles/kwh at 75mph which is decent. But I'd still like to see closer to 2.5 miles/kwh and a smaller battery to reduce wasted weight/space. I think the gross battery on this is like 220kwh which is insane. Smaller battery and higher efficiency means companies can produce more EVs and reduce costs for consumers. Also a smaller battery means quicker charging. Rivian is claiming 420 miles for R1T Gen 2 with a 141kwh usable battery. I think it's optimistic but either way it should be noticeably more efficient. Now it's also a smaller truck. Hopefully these full size trucks can achieve low to mid 400 miles with 175Kwh batteries in the future
Bring this back with a combustion engine or hybrid and I'd buy it. I owned a 2006 Avalanche and would have bought another one, however they discontinued it.
Rearview camera mirror first came out everyone claimed it was a gimmick. Y’all remember that too? Now their top trim trucks got them lol. They even said the Sierra’s Multi-Pro tailgate was a useless gimmick in 2019, now they offer some form of multi-functioning tailgate on their trucks. Leave it to *gm* to lead America in innovation, both mechanically and in terms of tech. Although this isn’t a new feature as it’s borrowed from the Avalanche, it was very creative & smart to revive this feature in the new Chevy Silverado EV.
If cybertruck had this, it would be the perfect “car camping” rig. Could have had climate control and Netflix with the tonneau cover closed. Safe from bears, weather, AND could just drive away in case of emergency. Instead, you pay $3k for a stupid inflatable tent. 😒

You know truck guys are constantly complaining that they need a version with two doors and long bed. So here you get to switch it up. Crew cab on Monday, long bed on Tuesday.
Well you need to have something to do when you wait to recharge it for an hour every hour and a half while towing. A sad collection of foolish ideas. A GM classic, like the Aztek, Vega, Edsel, the DeSoto, Mustang 2, the Sun liner, the Humvee and the Corvair. Stupid compliance vehicle.
ridiculous in every way. Only a poser would waste 100k to putter around in an overweight monstrosity like that. It has some practicality but zero value. Gm will sell 3 of them. To dealerships. Where they will sit for 2 years.

Avalanche reborn.
Exactly, the Silverado is just a more popular truck name. The same reason Ford called their crossover a Mustang
My neighbor still has his Avalanche and likes that feature.
@@jamespaul2587but unlike the mustang which is a 2 door 4 seater coupe the avalanche was actually a pickup

Actually pretty nice to have
Better than the cybertruck 😊
At least, it’s look like a real truck a grown man and woman designed
Definitely!
Avalanche rides again
My 05 avalanche had that and i love it!
Definitely has to be the best EV pickup or really any 1/2 ton pickup on sale. Aside from efficiency eveerything else is pretty damn good
i mean it gets the best range, and has the lowest aerodynamic drag coefficient of all trucks.

great to use as camper too. And better if bed topper like Avalanche too.
You are a very athletic and coordinated, Alex!!
What a video! And think of the Trunk Comfort Score!
All to be used once or twice to impress the neighbors. In three years all those moving parts will make up an epic rattletrap. 😂
almost as bad as the fresh off the production line Cybertruck rattles? lol
These parts don't rattle in 20yo+ Avalanches, Escalade EXTs or H2 SUTs... Not sure why they would in the Silverado.
You're the first reviewer to show that the whole back can be removed as opposed to just the lower part, that ive seen. Camper!
Remind me of my 03 Chevy avalanche

Smart
The Mid-Gate should be standard on all trucks!
I don't understand why every truck wouldn't do this. Just makes sense. Great to camp too.
Wow sooooo avalanche
Hear me out, a sleepover is the back of this truck.
There has been a few going back a ways so not really new but still cool. Probably don’t want to use it down a dusty road.
Until the window busts
The glass removal bit seems prone to failure. Hmm.....
I like the concept, but not the $79,000 price for the basic model
Wish it was a gas engine.
So an electric avalanche with a silverado badge?
Far better looking than Cybertrash.
It’s not new, it’s from the great 2002 Avalanche 😢

Avalanche and Escalade EXT?
Midgate is nothing new. 1999 Nissan concept. Avalanche had it.
All those moving pieces. What could possibly go wrong or start rattling all the time
Chevy avalanche had it first
🤯
Come on Alex, you know this isn't new.
"New truck" feature, not new feature on a truck...

20+ year old tech. BFD. Thanks, Rip Van Winkle.
It just a minivan with a bed
Decades old features. Needs a power rear window.
Load the bed with projectiles and avoid sudden stops. 🤔💡🫤
invest in 10 dollar straps. lol
Avalanche all day
This is a real working truck ……… not a juvenile, vanity “Truck”.
To many $130k trucks.
Just call it the avalanche sigh. It's an avalanche nit a damn Silverado
