Firstly thank you this guide was so helpful ! I need to ask for something kinda irrelevant, i have an old laptop which I had upgrade it from HDD to ssd, unfortunately the graphics card burned and now I have left with the only useful part of the laptop the ssd. So I want to built a pc, I wanted to ask if it possible to connect this sdd and also if the windows that have already installed from the laptop in the ssd will work and will not need setup and new windows key? I would really appreciate if you reply! (In case you need some specification just ask, I ready need help here )

1. Tp link wireless USB adapter properties.
2. Select "Advanced" section.
3. Select "wireless Mode"
4 change to IEEE 802.11a/n/ac for 5Ghz
And for 2.4 ghz just select IEEE 802.11b/g/n.
But according to me just stay it on auto because it will automatically connect to 5ghz when it available.i hope you will understand it.

I think I need to do this process as I thought this was a plug and play. Though its working I can only received 5 to 7mbps from our 30mbps network speed from the main modem. Any thoughts?

@ IT & Tech how can i installed driver of T3U Ac1300. There is only option to installed driver from CD? TP-Link side has only Mac version, & there is no win 10 version. It can be download automatically when i insert USB port (Win 10) or installed from CD.
When I plugged this wifi adapter in my PC it worked well without installing driver ( OS windows 10 build 1909).
But I installed driver before making this video.
if you face any problem then install driver from CD but it's no recommend.

My connection type seems to be 802.11n do you know how to change it to 802.11ac? I have the same adapter.
And it seems like now my 5Ghz wifi disappeared from the available wifi list on my pc though I was able to use it right after I plugged in this adapter. Also my phone is still connected to the 5Ghz wifi.

Speed test is the worst way to check speeds. Only Local file transfer shows the full performance.

You can check it will work or not? by using your phone's wifi hotspot in one closed room and then connect to that hotspot by another phone in another room or 4 meters apart and if it works then this adaptor will also work fine.
Coz i tried a low speed dongle.150mbps ping is very high. Phone and laptop works fine in that room. I wonder if i need higher speed?

u only required to install driver in window xp coz every hardware need driver. if u use window 8 or 10 it will install driver automatically. so basically u can say it is plug n play.

@@klakkel0 exactly, it's basically the antenna that receives the wifi and emits too. Unplug it and your computer will be "blind"= no internet emission or reception
Does the advertised connection speed will only be possible under USB 3? What will be the maximum speed connection to a 5GHz network if this adapter is used in a USB 2.0 port?
On usb 3 it gives full 867 Mbps but on usb 2 it gives 433 Mbps on 5ghz.
and thats also only on a router that has a 400mb speed

In Windows 10 it will work as soon as you plug it but You should install latest drive for better stability.

I think you should use a wifi card with a heatsink so that it stays cool.
Usb one gets hot and that's why they throttle.

For lite work like surfing internet, playing casual games, watching TH-cam and downloading files it is definitely Good but for high fps gaming and 24/7 download and upload you should consider pci based wifi adaptor with heatsink.

Maybe it's your phone hotspot which only send data at lower speed or its heat that throttle down this adaptor speed. So check your adaptor by placing your finger on it while using its full potential.

If you have a 5 GHz router then you don't need to do this because it will automatically change.
And you cannot connect 2.4ghz with 5ghz.

At auto 5g was not shown had to install Realtek driver to make it work.
Just install Realtek driver of t3u it will work and 5ghz will be visible and without t3u driver installed.

What download speed your router gives you when you connect it through cable with your PC. And does your router have 5ghz network.

It means you have 1GBps plan and for downloading files it gives 100mbps.
Because if it was 100 Mbps plan then it will give only 10 to 15 Mbps speed for downloading files

I used the AC600 with old drivers (2017) and got 200-300 ping in multiplayer and I updated the drivers (2018) and I got 25-30 ping. Well my AC600 broke so I bought this one today (AC1300) on amazon because it was on sell.

You should go with PCIE card based wifi adapter because they are better for gaming and does not throttle when you game for longer periods of time because those have heatsink that remove heat faster.if you have a desktop computer. Otherwise buy high gain wifi adapter.
