Twin Engine Mini Bike at Street Drags!

In this video we revamp the twin engine minibike we made at the 2018 Pate’s Swap Meet and get it ready for some drag racing with the good folks over at Texas Outlaw Minibikes! We reverted the reverse flow (backwards running) Predator 212 from the last video to run forwards again and used it in place of the 3hp Briggs on the front of the bike. Then we took the built Tillotson off the race bike and used that as the main engine. We used an eBay thumb throttle to control the front engine and a simple twist grip for the main engine. Once you engage the front engine it feels like a huge boost of power, but it spins the tires and makes it hard to control. Some more tweaking in the future and this thing will be an absolute BEAST!

It actually launched good and pulled hard! If the wide front tire doesn't help a lot then maybe add 20lbs or more upfront until minimum wheel spin is confirmed.
wider slicks, steering stabilizer, move seat forward, and 2 perfectly matched, built engines. Idk just thinking out loud. Love the awd mini. lol

Make sure you get all aspects of this build matched. Exact same build on both motors, same tires same clutches, same sprockets. You get the deal. It will rip huge.

Cool that drag racing looks like alot of fun! Its so funny you have 2 throttles on it reminds me of the pinchcliffe gran prix bike. Mine is just one throttle working both engines it works good but its just a 3.5hp on the forks so it doesnt get out of control like a predadtor would.
What if you change the gear ratios to be different so a high ratio in the back to lunch and a low ratio in the front for top speed something to try maybe.

Don't know of any hint of a street race like this where I live in Australia.
If you guys ever ride this mini bike again PLEASE put a billet aluminum flywheel on the front engine and the back one if it does not already have it. There is a real risk that one of those stock flywheels could explode when your getting 6,000 plus rpm out of those engines. Stock flywheels are designed to spin up to the governor's set rpm and no more.
put a slightly smaller sprocket on the back or largeer on the front and get some weird 2 stage action

Totally awesome
The bike needs more positive caster. You need a long rake. This will put more weight on the tire. Get rid of the slick. They work well on ultra smooth asphalt, not road pavement. The turf saver tire will hook up alot better.
Put a delay on the throttle. Make the front motor hit last but still rev out. You could make a throttle bracket With two wires that go to a single throttle You don’t want the from spinning its gonna crash somebody if you make any more power.

You can balance the front motor by fabricating short jackshaft coming off fork
what if you ran the backwards engine backwards on the front, and a normal engine powered the rear?

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration with your race day bike. Between your build and that recent race day bike they put together over at gopowersports.com I just couldn't help but take a stab at it. Move the fuel tank to the rear and move the seat more to the front so u will get more grip at the front.
If the built engine doesn’t have a rev limiter and stock one does, then a smaller sprocket up front would help. Smaller sprocket on front wheel would take some torque away for traction. Also the stock engine would not hold it back at top speed. Just my opinion.

I don’t think the front engine is helping at all. Extra weight is probably slowing it down. Would be easy to check times with and without front engine.
Should have put 2 exact same engines.. one is gonna over power the other, more rpm and power on one and then basically one stock, lol doesn’t make sense... the front engine isn’t gonna be spinning fast enough or give enough power to keep up with the Tillotson 🤷♂️ just my common sense speaking out
