If you would like to get a turbo of your own as well as helping our channel, use the link above!
In this video we take the Rotary Turbo Minibike and the Lil’ Rascal from Gopowersports back out to Daniel’s land and got to see what a difference the Turbo has made since the first time we rode it NA. We swapped the gearing to give it less torque and more top speed and it performed great! Next up we’re thinking of adding a boost gauge and doing some testing.
Thank y’all for watching, stay safe, and be sure to stay tuned for the next episode, the FIRST DRIVE!

That engine deserves a gearbox.
Yes
I'd love to see what it could make with a decent gearbox or hell even a CVT from a scooter to actually take advantage of it.
Similarly rip the limiters out to see how it runs
I’ve said it before, a CVT would be ideal for this type of power plant. You could put this motor on a bigger frame and still rip.
Search hercules motorcycle Its a rotor engine on a road legal bike
@@cskalle1213 thank you. I’ll make a note of that.
Pulse pump , O2 sensor , boost gauge , dyno tune , lets see the potential ... great job dudes
That thing is awesome. You guys should install an LCD tach to see what rpms you're hitting. Might not be near 6k and are missing out on power!
6000rpm was for generator use it can rev past 12000 without issue... Basically don't worry about reving it too high just make sure there's premix in the tank and keep and eye on the temps but youl start to loose power before you hurt anything reving it
This^^💯💯💯
I all of a sudden really want this now
Pre mix ethanol
Fit a torque converter on it, for out of the hole speed.
I think top speed runs would be better
@@billgates23yearsago4 Yes, the torque converter will give it both.
@@prancstaman i thought they limit top speed. I thought it maxes out the revs low
it could definitely get it higher in the RPMs to get the turbo kicked off. but it might be difficult to get one attached to the rotary. they would also have to change the way their brake works
@@billgates23yearsago4 Get the spacing right from the driver pulley to the driven pulley and you won't need the backplate to hold the pulleys in place. The torque converter would start out with a high gearing to get the motor revving, then the pulleys change ratios to 1 to 1 for top speed. The good thing about how torque converters work. And they would have to find another way to have a brake, maybe on the other end of the jackshaft.
FINALLY! Someone got one of those cheap little turbos to work the way they wanted it to. I've seen lots of videos with guys trying to turbocharge small engines with those things. But, this is the first time it worked right.
it beacus ist a rotory not 4 strock cyngel silinder
So rad! I hope you keep improving it. I would be excited to see some porting on the motor and a boost gauge.
It's actually a bridge port motor stock, but peripheral porting would take this thing to the next level!
That powerband is wicked on that lil rotary , u guys are awesome, Rob Damn & the Vargas Bros would be proud.
I vote chrome powder coat/ the polished look! A lot of work into this build to leave it "ratty" looking. Shine 'er up!
Video is awesome guys! Love having you guys out. that rotary sounds amazing and for sure makes boost! maybe next time we can use the Polaris to get some smoother rolling shots!
Just polish the metal frame then clear coat it, no rat-rod crap, you would be surprised how nice it will look just polished and clear coated...
Really should extend the foot peg bar..be more safe and your leg covers the engine from getting cool air..I would also make a Engine guard like street motorcycles have for when they tip over it doesn’t go all the way over will save your carb from getting smashed when radical wrecks happen and would look awesome too..
Sounds like a mini RX7, want one
You guys rock !!! You could probably drop another tooth on that sprocket ⚙️ to get a little more speed and still have that boost feel to it. Just saying. A lot of speed on a small bike could get sketchy !! Be safe guys. 🤣
Go for the chrome and also polish up the engine too. It would look amazing!
Consider: Actually find out how to measure the HP you are producing. Then do the Math. We are all curious. Besides, a go cart/ mini bike Dyno would be handy. Bo.
They have a friend with an engine brake dyno ... measures the hp from The engine only though
We'd love to get some results on the effectiveness of the turbo, unfortunately we've been pretty busy with school so we haven't been able to any real testing
maybe one day i will get my roller dyno setup and BBR can run their projects to see how much power they are making. Too many projects lol
It sounds like a 2 stroke almost. That's awesome.
Rotary and 2 stroke are similiar the reason they have that sound is because they dont have valves
That was an awesome build series. I know you mentioned going bigger with the main jet, what all was done to the carb in the end?
I wish to offer my 2 cents worth to the pot. First, I may have missed a reason, but why do you guys keep using this field for testing? You obviously are getting beat up on the rascal and no doubt losing some sensory feedback for tuning purposes. I know you guys know this, and are obviously having to use this field for a reason, and that's why I'm asking. No criticism, just curiosity lol. What I really want to know, I suppose, is if you will be able to test on asphalt in the near future?
As for my other questions. First, you "should" be able to get some high rpms out of this little rotary. So, is it possible to use some type of aftermarket performance ignition system for small scooters? (Like a ruckus or zuma?) You might be a little too limited with the original ignition system.
I get why people are suggesting a cvt type setup, but I like the idea of a high performance clutch that has some tunable functions. That way the build remains very light and compact.
I encourage you to develop this thing further. I don't know about you guys, but this thing definitely seems to be a project that has exceeded expectations. A very exciting experiment that has shown a bunch of promise. I know that this is the build you had planned, and going further is beyond the plans and the budget, but some things are worth going the extra mile. I think this seems to be one of those things.
All in all, this is an awesome build as it is and I congratulate you for that success.
Yall need to do a top speed run on the pavement with that thing
You guys are the best I love your intro please keep up the awesome vids!😁👍
Looks fast enough to race my little 212cc dirt bike.
Brilliant I’m trying to get one of those rotary motors in Australia to do the same thing but very rare down under just can’t find them. Excellent project guys 👊🤘
I bought a km48 from nsw on ebay for under $600 and had it shipped to NZ. They're still around for sale.
Can you lighten the weights in the clutch to raise the engagement RPM?
I wonder if you could fit a small 2 speed gearbox on that? One gear for power and one for speed!
Just so you guys know I've been subscribed with a notification for over a year and I haven't got a notification from you all in over a year
When you guys go out there again mow a drag strip into the grass
for sure. I wanted to get it mowed before they came out. just need a little more notice. you can kind of see it in the video but there is a concrete road under all that grass . i can scrape off all the dirt and make it pretty smooth
Ever think about getting a drone to up your game on your footage? You guys are great keep up the good work!
You guys using castor oil in your fuel?
It really needs a torque converter
I think the centrifugal clutch is the best deal here.... super simple, and fast
Dude it’s ripping guys great job and it sounds so good
The rotary gods at Angel Performance would love this bike!!
Sounds great.
Chrome powdercoat
If your forks ever give out on you, get a Azuza fork.. its the only thick forks in the minibike industry, and it makes the bike look a lot sexier. I have one on my El Tigre..
So cool, I'm very impressed, and inspired! 🤘🤓
Sick mullet dude!
Get rid of the jack shaft and send the power thru a six speed gearbox from a small Mx bike. Get a tach. Doesn’t sound even close to 6k. Keep up the good work👍
every good channel MUST have a c10!
Must have missed it somewhere... what motor is this?
A slightly smaller exhaust header could possibly increase exhaust velocity and help with turbo lag, just an idea if you guys want to experiment with that
Consider: DJ Tuning, if the Dyno needs setting up/assembly/testing, maybe, offer/schedule the task with BBR and let them test away. Bo.
Dude you guys have to put that rotary set up in a dirt bike frame and let it rip!
IT'S ANGRY!, LOL, glad to see some younger gearheads building silly shit for fun!
That should be the new race bike, and the bike should just be clear coated but the rear wheel needs to be re chromed
Put two of those gas tanks side by side.
how do you adjust the boost?
Needs more RPM rotary's need to rev to the moon to make proper use of the turbo and boost .use some premix and fab up better foot rests then u can really party 🥳👌🏽
Definitely if you guys lived closer I have an LCD tach Then I would give you with instructions it’s from the 80s but it works fucking awesome
I think a 2 speed auto jackshaft would be great
how long can you drive on a full tank?
Why didn't you guys stick with the torque convertor on the mm80 build?
How much did it cost to build
You guys should bring back your rotary shifter kart it was hands down the best kart
I remeber when you guys built that little rascal its a cool bike!
awesome video brother
Where do you guys find these rotary engines? I want one so bad!
It would be cool to have a tach that works with 1 cyl engines but I can’t find one anywhere
Tachometer? Aliexpress and Amazon will help u
i used to have a honda chaly 3 speed clutchless manual
I don’t know if you already have, but if you port that rotary out, you will get insane more power, higher RPM, and it’ll sound like a crotch rocket.
Sounds like you need a CVT or a conventional gearbox and to look at your rpm limiter and use the gearbox to keep it in the power.
Hell a dyno run will be useful
where can i get one of those motors?
One rotors are so sick
when them rotaries blow up isn't it just the main seals that take a crap
Where does someone get a rotary motor like that? I have been looking...
Jeeze you guys just when it hits the power band you let off its a rotary she wants to scream
This is a really dope build! Can you tell me who the artist is that does the song for the intro?
Jimmi by Andrew Applepie
its in the description
@@SeNu420 thank you!
Thanks for the video
Great job
Im wondering what the intro song is
Keep the patina!!
Where yall live? In Kansas?
Thats awesome
Windy day, tall dry grass, minibike with straight exhaust. Which college do you attend?
i think all that would happen if u over-rev it is the flywheel will explode. it happened to me on a old 2 stroke the shroud work great at containing it but a billet would hold up to some RPM's. almost sounds like it wants a higher rpm stall clutch.
cool build!
I want to turbo my ds 450 now
I seen that backwards engine just finished the video
You should let angel motorsports do some work on that rotary
If you are worried about the rpm , just add a gauge. Rotary hp is closer to the top
Unsure if you knew this but those rotary engines LOVE high RPM
Like a 3 rotor can go up to 9,000 rpm
I wish yall would ride on the street!
You should put a tachometer on it so you know the rpms
Hello can anyone help me i am having isssues with my predator 212 running either rich or lean not sure i have a stage 1 intake and a straight pipe and i am currently running a .36 jet runs and drives fine on chock of choke if i throttle it bogs down any help will be appreciated
Even if u let it warm up?
i want to see that thing go on a dyno and i want to ride it
Doppe rota boys, but no way can a leather be worn, must be shorts, singlet and a beer 4 this type of machine 😉
LOL/singlet...would overload their server with views.
i love your videos!
put a quiet exhaust on it so you can hear the turbo
Add a rpm gauge these engines can do way more than 6000 i Had one in a lownmower i gave IT another carb an aded a rmp gauge it holded Up to nearly 10000rpms Then IT broke you can Go Like 8000rpms easy
Hey I've got a km3 mower engine. What carb did you put on it? I've talked to one guy who used one from a 50cc chainsaw
Put it on a bit bike frame be so much better
Needs a boost gauge and a tachometer.
Pink for colets pit bike
Mini doritos 4ever! 🙌
So tired of seeing that over-priced Rascal being pushed on every YT channel I subscribe to. Its one thing for GPS to sponsor builds with parts, its another thing for them to be dictating content by pushing these things at every channel they sponsor. BBR did one, Moto Mule did one, RBG did one, RBW did one, C&C did one, they even sent one to GHPC..sigh. Love the Rotary! That idle is so cool.
Keep up the creativity, its why I subscribe....(its certainly not for seeing what GPS is pushing on you guys next. )
Your forget cars and cameras bud . And I totally agree with you getting sick of seeing them and there way to small
@@jtfisrtbuild947 Added! Thanks
I wouldn't say they are dictating content, just providing who they sponsored with parts they can use to build stuff. Look at it as GPS providing the youtubers we love watching with parts they can use to make content. GPS sponsors youtubers with parts for one off projects too. A lot of the things you see on the rotary are GPS sponsored too and you love seeing that content. The little rascal BBR made is one of my favorites between all of the youtubers, it looks great. Think of it like a build off between all of the different youtubers. I can tell you that the little rascal kit BBR made was not time they could have spent building something else. it was just bonus content.
It's a nice kit that is overpriced in some peoples eyes, but a well put together kit for those who want to build their first mini bike without having to worry about getting the right parts to put together. If you didn't know what you were doing you could easily buy multiple parts that are not compatible with each other and have to spend more to get what you needed.
@@DJTuningCom Thanks for the reply and I mostly agree with your sentiment. Watching the creativity of these channels is why I "tune in". And its great that GPS provides parts for these custom builds. GPS is my first stop because of their sponsorship. Each channel/build uses different ( and some same ) parts from the GPS catalog.
But the creators are defining the projects, doing something different, bringing their own style to each project.
I would still consider it dictating. GPS sent those kits to each channel, and I would bet money that there was an expectation that each channel build and publish a video about the kit. It's that expectation that leaves a bad taste. Instead of seeing these channels continue on with their creative projects, I get to see all of them assemble the same kit en-masse. Where is the fun in that? At least RBW made his electric. RBG cared so little about the project that they rattle canned it, slapped it together, and moved on.
I talked with Edwin at GHPC and they are going to try to keep their own creativity when they build theirs. It sounds pretty cool.
BTW, I subscribed, and hope the best for your channel!
Why didn’t you use your phone to see top speed???
I love channel
fit a boost gauge and a tacho, cheap insurance!
Both need gears to take full advantage of engine top end. I would get a used Honda ct125 or C90 frame/wheels and put each motor on that. I would love to see those motors compared to the Honda ct125 . In power, speed, mpg rating. “”If”” you come out great..... I will drive it across USA!
Dat rotary rips but you arent hitting powerband long and far enough, get a tach
the tires are too boxy, it's hard to turn
What's the point of a rotary that cant go above 6k rpm
I think it is like the predators that are designed for 3600 RPM but are taken much higher without the governor, but i understand them not wanting to take it higher than the 6000 rating since it is a bit of a rare engine.
