Glad to hear you've been busy, Russ. I'm looking forward to the continuation of the 944 transaxle builds. Regarding that LS-7, be careful with your reputation! Beware the "it's already been done" used engine, you don't know what's in it till you inspect the parts. I'd hate to see you get burned down the line by this thing!

Welcome back! Clever design on the Ferrari engine, - incorporating the oil sump into the transmission case casting. Results in a very compact transverse engine/transaxle unit. Given the proximity of the engine lower end to the transmission gearbox in a mid-engine layout, do you think this arrangement would result in higher temperatures for the transaxle during normal driving?

Russ, I would love to see a rebuild on the 944 engine. I have one out of my 85.5 on the stand now. Looking to do a 944 Spec engine possibly. Another thought is to sell that car as a roller, as I also have an ‘89 2.7 944 and a 944 Spec race car I just acquired. The 85.5 body is in VGC, needs a radiator core support
