They certainly are dangerous. They are immensely powerful, even at idle power.
Should the engines be on even? It wasn't getting ready for take off.
If they get airside, it's a "VERY" serious offence with automatic jail time.

Ramp or baggage agent probably, were instructed to wait behind a line as the aircraft’s engines are running only when the hazards light (flashing red light on belly & roof) isn’t flashing can we approach the plane.
They really don't want us to fly, need the aircraft for other purposes, or don't want us to see what they are up to?
What an awful thing to happen
I used to work at Luton airport for an airline, and unfortunate people not taking care would walk into aircraft propellors. They would try to take a shortcut across the tarmac and not realize how dangerous that is.
So, you worked for an airline but you can't spell the word "propeller"?

Some years ago "Plane stupid" broke into Heathrow. One of them was wearing a polar bear suit and they took scaffolding poles with them and closed the airport for six hours. After this I wrote to the local newspaper telling them next time someone breaks into the airport it will be to commit mass murder. They have since strengthened the perimeter fence.
There is already an offence with a £5k fine for unauthorised access into an airport restricted area. Second time a prison sentence. Just enforce it and the problem has gone.
HM I am a dutchie, and I am pretty sure we already have something similar in place, but ofc, no system is foolproof really
Messing around with planes is purposely putting 1000's lives at risk in a very dangerous environment, minimum prison time of 3 years or more is reasonable.
JSO will probably have drones as well adding to the danger.

Likely to be an engineer or aircraft marshaller - big fan engines create a "suck-in" vortex just forward of ther intake which acts like a small tornado onto the ground - if you are there within it you get sucked in!

You need operations safety who knows his job to prevent these accidents. Get real safety people who work with people from all levels, not the people who just talk good.
