You dont have to purchase credits. This is only if you want the easier 1 button touch solution for coding. Nothing is locked out for free. So if you know how to perform the coding you can do so at no cost or if you want the convenience of not having to figure it out it will require credits.
Just bought one, thanks guys. Didn't even see this video until after I bought it. Found out about it from VWVortex. I didn't know about the credit thing, but As a computer science major, and an avid "googler," I think I'll be ok.
It works great for me, as a diy guy it has help a lot to troubleshoot my car i would obviously like to have vagcom but for now this is perfect. Love it. I been having it for 6 months and i got more credits than i need so i have no problems with that.i got the pro version also. Love it!
ive had this since January. great tool at a great price. if you go to your profile in the app you can get 5 or 6 free credits a day. so if you're patient you dont have to buy credits!
As mechanic always looking for new ideas new toys, listening to the presentation it looks like a bad idea the VCDS from Ross it has an amazing tech support that will help you troubleshooting and give solution to your concern about the vw or audi cars ...... on top of that its covering 100% the new cars as well as all system and sub systems.....good luck .....
You dont have to purchase credits. This is only if you want the easier 1 button touch solution for coding. Nothing is locked out for free. So if you know how to perform the coding you can do so at no cost or if you want the convenience of not having to figure it out it will require credits.
VCDS is a mature product and is maintained and provides constant updates. Any scanning diagnostic system requires constant updates. If software is very cheap this usually means 'no useful support', 'no updates', 'limited functions'. Two things will happen, the company will eventually find a way to charge you more money which will make it's advantage over VCDS moot, or they will eventually go out of business because the cost model won't work. You get what you pay for. Don't waste your time and money, get VCDS. I've had it for 9 years with no complaints.

i'drather have the Hex-Net , got the chance tot test this and now it is sitting as a dust support somewhere in my house 😁 pro tip : just stick to a vcds and/or vcp - vcp+k .
The $350 cable is a hardware dongle (software licensing device) for VCDS. The VCDS application and perpetual upgrades are "free" after getting the dongle.
Is it worth it? I must respond with an absolute YES!!!! I bought one of these as the cost was very reasonable and did not want to invest in a VCDS setup knowing that once the few tweaks and mods that I wanted to do, I would likely toss it in the drawer and never use it again. This unit has been able to provide ALL the things that I wanted to change, such as coding for LED tail lamps, rear fog lamp, LED brightness, mirror dip, indicator blink to 5 (instead of 3 blinks)....the list goes on. The interface is SOOOOOOOOOO simple, but it does take a bit of time just to wrap your head around it. I installed the app from Google Play, and the connection are easy to setup. Once you get the basic understanding of it....the possibilities of changing or tweaking what you need on your car will be an absolute joy to do. You can also scan and clear codes, but more importantly...the program can send you a LOG of what changes you made, it has the ability to send the file to your e-mail, so if you mess up, you will have a record of the changes. Now that is SUPER NICE! All in all, unless you are a dealer and work on a lot of cars, this is the personal tool that just simply WORKS. And works well. The best way to answer your question is to obtain the OBDEleven PRO, DAP sells this, and then spend some time looking on the blog boards and message boards. There is a lot of specific information available. I really suggest that you get familiar with the OBDEleven tool first, gain confidence with it, record your changes (you can e mail your changes to yourself). That is where I started, and gained confidence and understanding in no time at all.
Lastly, I have made all the changes I wanted to make which was pretty much every popular item, and had no issue coding at all. There are a lot of big words used....coding, adaptation etc....dont be scared, once you have the hand of it....easy!
guys. the credits is basically the way the company keeps making money out of you... remember you can code the things yourself and it will require no credits. i bought it after watching this video and it works perfectly on my Audi A4 2007 and in my audi Q7 2008. but still if you like long coding that is a really cool thing i would still go with a real vac com cable but for other things this works great.
Most apps (tweaks) cost 10 credits. I believe I saw something that was more, but don't remember what it was. Also, you can get free credits when first starting the app. There will be a green bar at the bottom that allows you to click ads to get more credits. Max of 5 free credits per day.
If you are interested in OBDEleven, go to their website and order it there. They are running a special for the device, 200 credits, and free shipping. Pricing is in Euro, but the cost is around $55.00 USD.
Baha 11 credits gets you 1 single option to change before you have to buy more, VCDS lets you change everything you want unlimited times for no additional cost.
I bought this and dislike it. Needs to update almost every time I use it, FOR THE SAME 4 CARS, so I don't need it to be updated. And it will not function at all unless it updates. Also and the main reason I dislike it, is it needs to be able to connect to the internet. It will not function at all if you don't have a connection. I've been many places where the coverage was spotty, trying to diagnose a broken down car, it wouldn't work. Also it's stopped working with my phone all of a sudden, but still works with my tablet. It's still a good alternative to spending 250+ but I wouldn't recommend it unless you can tolerate these issues.
Can this be used for mk6 dsg service? if yes, how and what to check? Can you or Charles do a short video on that? I have watched the other video you guys made but it didn't mention how to use VCDS to check transmission fluid temperatures.
Awesome video. FYI iOS doesn't support the specific bluetooth stack OBD-II ports need. All of the iOS compatible dongles are WiFi dongles (exception is Automatic, but they wrote their own protocol built into their dongle). So yes, there is a hardware issue there. Also you may have gotten better performance on video recording using the Android SDK and a computer connected via USB, but that is probably way too much work and clutter for making this video. Thanks again for awesome videos. Good to know there is a decent alternative currently available.
Thanks for that info. Its good to know. The cheap tablet just has a slow processor which made the screen recording bog everything down. It wasn't much of an issue on the Samsung tablet as it is a better quality tablet even if it is only and entry level Samsung. Thanks for watching I appreciate it. Paul
After years of reading mixed up reviews (some hate, some love), I just bought obd eleven from you. Can’t wait to personalize my car! - 2016 Mk7 GTI Light pkg & driver assist pkg.
I was planning on watching ads for getting free credits, but whenever I try that a message says “no ads available, try again later” :( I guess I’ll have to buy the pro for long coding. Anyway, I’m still happy with it since I was able to successfully move windows up-down with remote with the small amount of credits included. I wish I had known that the free credits are not available always.
This relates to a 2004 S4. Lost my main key but still have the original spare, valet, and plastic strip with number strip inside. Got a replacement key. Had it cut and it was programmed to open and lock. Good so far, but the young man told me he couldn't get the immobilizer to recognize the new key because the chip in it was not one recognized by the immobilizer. He tried his tools but he couldn't get the new key's chip recognized. He gave me a cheap price to be fair for cutting the key. I can not find any locksmith in my town all of which do some car keys who can reprogram the immobilizer to accept the original spare, valet, and new key. Will this device allow me to do this? If so will it require a PIN code? Is the PIN code one of the numbers in the plastic strip that came with the keys? If the PIN code is a must and it's not inside the plastic thing that comes with the keys how do I get it? Last, and I apologize for a long post, if the OBE device in the video will not work for key issues like mine do you know what I need and do you sell it? Thanks in advance for advice on this.
Does this tool allow to monitor the temperature of the DSG fluid? I am trying to change the DSG transmission fluid and I would like to monitor the temperature to make sure I am measuring at the right temperature.
Is it possible to extract the SKC pin with this device? or would an SKC pin be necessary in performing for example a: key programming adaptation? Thanks. I'm really interested in your product.
Can the OBDEleven help diagnose power steering faults/codes etc.? My 2011 Tiguan recently got a red steering wheel light come on and my basic OBD scanner wont pick it up. Thanks for input, great video!
Was on the fence but after seeing this I am in. Went to order one, along with a 5k maint kit, but noticed they were on back-order. When is the next shipment due? I cant wait!
Can I use this to clear the dash error on vw and audi cars? The problem is the dash error in mk7 golf after installing led bulbs in fogs and high beams. Also error in an audi a4.
Hey there! thanks for making this video. I'm still undecided between the VAG COM and the OBD11..... what exactly is long-coding and would i need it? I have a 2005 A6 that seems a bit dated and wondered if long coding would be an upgrade solution? not sure what it is or how it works, or ultimately if i need it- thanks!!
I have one of these and I love it. was able to do all the tweaks i wanted to on my 2016 Golf R, using a samsung Tab e from sprint. There are message boards on their website for requests for apps, the admin there is pretty helpful.
+Spencer Wren you can do all the stuff you can do with a traditional vagcom through coding and adaptations with this device. You only need credits if you want to use the apps which are basically scripts that do the coding/adaptations for you.
Here's a hint: If you are going to compare the cost of the OBDeleven PLUS the Tablet, then you have to compare it to the VAG COM Cable PLUS the Laptop. Suddenly VAG COM is extremely expensive! And OBDeleven will work with a phone instead of Tablet (my last 2 Android phones: Samsung and LG both have full 1080p HD screens, better resolution than most budget tablets with 720p screens, so no shortage of pixels). The cheapest tablets don't work because they don't have BT (BlueTooth) BTW.
I have a 2011 Jetta SE. I got some gloss black radio trim without a slot for the passenger airbag light that’s under the HVAC knobs. Can I disconnect the passenger airbag light and use the scan tool to erase the airbag light on the dash and move on like nothing happened? I ask because I really like this gloss black trim piece
I have an issue with the immobilizer on a 03 VW Passat. I'll need to access the immobilizer pin code (doable with VAG TACHO) and swap out the ECM, or Instrument cluster or both and will be needing to do adaption as well as program new keys. Will the obd11 work for me?
Looks like a great tool, I would like to order it for my son's 2007 Audi A4 2.0 Quattro, I replaced the body control module CCM/BCM but I was told that I needed coding for it to work. Can this equipment be used for coding the CCM?
Hi I have a 2009 cc vw and this error message is on "optical parking system is currently not available". When I bought it 4 years ago the error message was there. Can I use the obd 11 to solve this issue. Where can I purchase the obd 11 pro from and what are credits and how much do they cost
VAGCOM FOR LIFE, no buying credits, full dealership lvl diagnostic, full library and online support. This product compared to my $200 Ross-Tech cable is like a power wheels car compared to my VR6.... oh and you'll need credits like the county Fair to ride in the big wheel. GTFO with this
will this work, to get my LED tail lights brighter on my mk5 GTI? additionaly, is there a program that allows me to turn off traction control entirely when I hit the ESC button in my car? or make the car okay with not running a cat, so I don't run lean?
Question: Mk5 2.0t, A/C pressure 90psi high and low (does not move when A/C turned on), cooling fans look newish but do not run with A/C on. Climatronic appears to function correctly with no HVAC codes present. Will this tool allow me to check compressor measuring blocks or am I better off biting the Ross-Tech bullet?
Can I use this if I want to remote start the car and or use the remote key fob to roll down/roll up windows and also open and close the sunroof if so equipped?
Hi i have a vw golf mk7 tdi highline with a dsg transmissions with this it did not come with a steering wheel that has paddles. I have seen that it was possible to add the paddles shifter option by buying a steering wheel that does have paddles as well using the vag com to code the paddles my question is if the odb 11 would be able to do this as the vag com is a lot more expensive thanks
Hi. I purchased the OBDeleven Pro from your site, but I did not receive an activation code. I’ve called and emailed customer service but have not received a response.
Hi DAP, doing a good job BTW. You may have answered one or two of these questions by the time you get a chance to respond, so I'll be keeping an eye out on other responses too. I like the idea of this item. My questions are regarding whether the OBDeleven will be the item I require for ALL the basic upgrades I'd like to achieve on my Manual MK7 Golf R in the future, which would be the coding for your tinted taillights and all functionalities, folding mirrors and possible Unitronic tune at some point? I like to research, but am no mechanic and just want it to be as easy as possible, so the one touch is looking good. Are there any other noteworthy features you would suggest it offers that might interest the everyday owner? I saw exhaust baffle deactivation there, which is interesting....? Thanks.
So if I want to turn things on like speedo sweeps on my polo, is that possible with the cheaper tools (and do they require coding)? or are they just on/off with the app doubt id be doing anymore than little tweaks, should I just go to a vw specialist and ask them to do it?
I have a mk5 Jetta 2.5 with a sat radio. I discovered an aux port in my glove compartment but I can't access it. After searching the forums it was said that the model was faulty and the radio would loose a value when the battery was unplugged. Apparently all I need is to add a 1 the the end of the code for the radio, is this something I could do with it this device?
@Deutsche Auto Parts , There is one item I'd like to access that must be done normally with VCDS and I'd like to know if it can be unlocked or enabled with this device. Simply put, I want to activate the hidden green menu in my MMI 3G system. Thanks!
most generic OBD dongles only have access to scan basic faults and often only in the engine control module. The OBDeleven is able to read codes, perform coding, run basic settings, change adaptations, and more on all modules in VW and Audis. Take a look at this video about Soundaktors it should help th-cam.com/video/ez4fx7yb85k/w-d-xo.html
+Deutsche Auto Parts ZED could erase the soundaktor in the fraction of the time it took him to uninstall it on his video. I just did the urban yoke adaptation - real simple. Thanks for making this possible!
Paul, I have a 2013 Audi S7 with a brake and ACC issue. Does this work on the S7, if so, will it tell me what is causing the error with the ACC? I know the VCDS will do this, but I’m not looking to do heavy coding, just basic maintenance and fixes.
Is the LED tail light amber turn signal one of the one touch options? Pretty much the only reason (that I know of currently) that I was considering a vag com to begin with.
Yup we talked to them about this this morning. It is currently an app that has not been tested but we asked them to set it up based on the coding required for the harness
I have a vw Caddy mk3 I know it's not known in the USA but mine came with a SDI diesel motor that came also in the jetta in the USA. Can I use this obd scan tool for it?
Oliver Mark Drews Aarodriguez has your answer. for $125 the can make you a new key fob from just a pic of your key. They also have instructions to make it play nice with your immobilzer.
So does the data come out of my cell account, like watching this video did? Does that mean the car can be hacked, and possibly stolen? It doesn't seem likely but it also seems that if it's connected to your car, and to the internet, then... I'malso curious why the data is a necessity when lots of other BT scanner just communicate to the Android device without needing a data connection?????
Hey Paul I just bought the obdeleven on Black Friday and I was wondering is the coding different on the mk6 vs the mk7? I just feel that is more user friendly on the mk7 when you do your videos.
I freaking love the OBDeleven I got one from you bro.! But I need it for iphone!! 😩 I was forced to use my friend android phone ! Are you guys working on an app for iPhones users ? 🙏🏻!! Plz say yes!! And one more question what is Carista ? 🤔

7 minutes in and then you mention "Credits" . Are there loot boxes as well? Maybe include an up-charge so i can share my results to facebook?
You dont have to purchase credits. This is only if you want the easier 1 button touch solution for coding. Nothing is locked out for free. So if you know how to perform the coding you can do so at no cost or if you want the convenience of not having to figure it out it will require credits.
Just bought one, thanks guys. Didn't even see this video until after I bought it. Found out about it from VWVortex. I didn't know about the credit thing, but As a computer science major, and an avid "googler," I think I'll be ok.

Gti Pete I can barely get one credit a day. How do you get 5 to 6 credits in a day.. I want to know
Gti Pete where do you get these elusive credits. I only get one credit a day. Help...
Wow, almost 6 minutes into the video to get beyond teaching us how to register and sign into a website. Amazing!

SUH-WEET! I just ordered this thing after doing a bit of research yesterday and now I find this video! How serendipitous!
So, wait. in order to use the thing you purchased, you need to purchase 'credits'
Well, in that case, I would rather pay for the VCDS

Deutsche Auto Parts i mean vcds us tried and true this looks too good to be true. id have a hard time spending money on a maybe
Deutsche Auto Parts i mean, id be more than happy to do a sponsored evaluation on this device on a 2017 jetta;)
Thanks for the explanation on credits, I wish the video had mentioned that.
@@icuppu2 he did say it in the video. But kind of passively. Im pretty sure u can find the correct manual coding online relatively easily.

Awesome! I was just about to pay the dealer 75 bucks, to do a Throttle Body Adaptation. I'm totally gonna order one of these things.
Yup this is an easy solution for things like throttle adaptation.
60 for the dongle, AND I have to buy credits. sounded good up until that part.
+Ross Potts you should take a look at this video it explains how the credits work
th-cam.com/video/tesklrp019E/w-d-xo.html
Deutsche Auto Parts yeah, I saw that right after this. I spoke a bit too soon. I didn't notice, does it have the ability to diag ABS?
+Ross Potts the ability to diag abs in general is pretty limited but this would have access to the module yes.
a $350 cable. that's as bad as the $5,000 cryogenically engineered component interconnect cables the HiFi cork sniffing whacko's use.
The $350 cable is a hardware dongle (software licensing device) for VCDS. The VCDS application and perpetual upgrades are "free" after getting the dongle.
Recently purchased the device and the samsung tablet. So far so good. Scanned my codes just fine.
I got OBDeleven pretty much almost as it became available - I cannot recommend it enough and it is great value for money ;)
Cool! Thanks for the feedback. We really appreciate it.
And your channel is great - keep it up :)

Awesome thanks for considering us.
Deutsche Auto Parts is this video thread dead? Or you guys still monitoring the comments?
Ordered mine last week. I can't wait for it to get here!
Thank you so much for the order!
Thanks for telling me about this will be getting this next paycheck
Awesome thanks for considering us!
And I just ordered it. Best price I could find on the Interweb from a reputable vendor.

I can vouch for this device, been using it for 3 months.
Glad to hear

Thanks glad you like.
Brilliant device. Might get one even though I have a MKV. I can always borrow a Vagcom if I need the log coding helper.
Would I be able to reprogram a replacement instrument cluster with this?
I ordered this through Amazon, I should've ordered it through your store. Now I wait.
Best purchase if you like tweaking your car.
Also you can email all the tweaks you have done in case you like to share them neat feature.
So if I am not comfortable messing with the code to permanently turn off my traction control, this will do it for me?
Can OBDELEVEN be used to do the basic setting on VW OAM 7 speed dry clutch DSG?
Does this tool allow to monitor the temperature of the DSG fluid? I am trying to change the DSG transmission fluid and I would like to monitor the temperature to make sure I am measuring at the right temperature.
Same question here. Considering purchasing this tool for this reason at this time.
Is it possible to extract the SKC pin with this device? or would an SKC pin be necessary in performing for example a: key programming adaptation? Thanks. I'm really interested in your product.
seat belt i have used basic scanners but there are some features that require a better dongle
Nice! Was waiting on this video.
There should be more to come.
Can the OBDEleven help diagnose power steering faults/codes etc.? My 2011 Tiguan recently got a red steering wheel light come on and my basic OBD scanner wont pick it up. Thanks for input, great video!
looks pretty great. Would be really handy for my upcoming VR6 project.....
sorry can i install a vcds or odis on a Tablet? Android Tablet or Windows Tablet???
OBDeleven is useless. I bought one. I wish I didn't
Congrats on the "exclusive" status!
Thanks I feel pretty good about this product.
Was on the fence but after seeing this I am in. Went to order one, along with a 5k maint kit, but noticed they were on back-order. When is the next shipment due? I cant wait!
Shannan Adinolfi Should be here tomorrow... Stuck in customs today
nice
There are message boards on their website for requests for apps, the admin there is pretty helpful.
awesome thanks for letting us know
How do you get around paying for credits?
+Spencer Wren you can do all the stuff you can do with a traditional vagcom through coding and adaptations with this device. You only need credits if you want to use the apps which are basically scripts that do the coding/adaptations for you.
Does this allows to code/program new battery information after changing battery for Audi vehicle?
How much do additional credits cost? And how many credits per 'app' use?
that depends on the module. But, it goes from 100 credits to about 10 credits.
Can OBDEleven do ABS pump bleeding?
I have an issue with the immobilizer on a 03 VW Passat. I'll need to access the immobilizer pin code (doable with VAG TACHO) and swap out the ECM, or Instrument cluster or both and will be needing to do adaption as well as program new keys. Will the obd11 work for me?
All I need it for right now is to change the last digit of the serial number for the car's battery when I change it on my 2010 A4. Will this do that?
Just wondering how well this tool interfaces with my 2000 VW Jetta? Throttle body adaption, etc...
Can it be used for haldex pump/learn?
Looks like a great tool, I would like to order it for my son's 2007 Audi A4 2.0 Quattro, I replaced the body control module CCM/BCM but I was told that I needed coding for it to work. Can this equipment be used for coding the CCM?
+iriejatravel this should be capable but coding modules can be tough and professional help may be required.
GTFO with this
And only $600!
will this work, to get my LED tail lights brighter on my mk5 GTI? additionaly, is there a program that allows me to turn off traction control entirely when I hit the ESC button in my car? or make the car okay with not running a cat, so I don't run lean?
I would like to get one of these but not sure where I plug this tool in on my Passat TSI 2014.
under the dash on the drivers side
Will this let me run the fuel pump without turning on the car for the fuel filter service on my CJAA motor?
Question: Mk5 2.0t, A/C pressure 90psi high and low (does not move when A/C turned on), cooling fans look newish but do not run with A/C on. Climatronic appears to function correctly with no HVAC codes present. Will this tool allow me to check compressor measuring blocks or am I better off biting the Ross-Tech bullet?
This can access that data block
can i program the cluster on Audi S6 C5 using this OBD2 ?
Does the OBDeleven do battery registration?
i guess if you buy credits :D stick to vagcom this is crap and also quite unsafe as its wireless
Can I use this tool to program the transponder to accept new keys on a 2002 Audi A4 if I know the SKC (Pin)?
Thanks.
I just brought the obd11 pro from you guys for 2007 Audi A4 FWD. I was wondering which channel reads the ATF temperature?
Hemant Kumar none of them, your out of credits sir
So if I want to turn things on like speedo sweeps on my polo, is that possible with the cheaper tools (and do they require coding)?
or are they just on/off with the app
doubt id be doing anymore than little tweaks, should I just go to a vw specialist and ask them to do it?
Has this been released for the iPhone?
Thanks!
No for the iPhone/iOS?
so if i use this to change my a/c to hot country, will it increase my flash counter or give me a TD1 and cause me to lose my warranty?
What makes the OBDeleven dongle different than any other generic bluetooth OBDII dongle?
most generic OBD dongles only have access to scan basic faults and often only in the engine control module.
Deutsche Auto Parts Can you use this dongle with other obd2 apps such as Torque?
Can these void the warranty on a new GTI ?
Paul, I have a 2013 Audi S7 with a brake and ACC issue. Does this work on the S7, if so, will it tell me what is causing the error with the ACC? I know the VCDS will do this, but I’m not looking to do heavy coding, just basic maintenance and fixes.
Is the LED tail light amber turn signal one of the one touch options? Pretty much the only reason (that I know of currently) that I was considering a vag com to begin with.
Are you speaking of the coding with our LED tail light adapter harness?
+Deutsche Auto Parts Yes
Yup we talked to them about this this morning. It is currently an app that has not been tested but we asked them to set it up based on the coding required for the harness
OBD 11? What happened to obd 3-10 Hmmm, Its obdII roman numeral which means 2 lol
It's the Brand Name
It's actually written "OBDeleven"
I have a vw Caddy mk3 I know it's not known in the USA but mine came with a SDI diesel motor that came also in the jetta in the USA. Can I use this obd scan tool for it?
Just received the OBDeleven device. Any chance it can unlock the "Performance Monitor" for the 2016 Golf R? Thanks!
superbjai76 I asked the same question about a month ago. I have not succeeded in finding a work around. Have you found the solution? Thanks.
Does the device allow me to change how my remote unlocks the doors (single or all) and reset the airbag in the case of messing with fuses?
+Harufire yes it does
Can you do intake flap delete
Hi, I am based out of India and having an Audi A6 3.0 TDI. If I purchase yhis from US will this device and software work on my car here?
Hi. does it let you program old and new keys? i have a 2000 model VW beetle that has an immobilizer fault, i doesn't recognize its key..
or can it turn off the immobilizer?
Oliver Mark Drews Aarodriguez has your answer. for $125 the can make you a new key fob from just a pic of your key. They also have instructions to make it play nice with your immobilzer.
Can this device be used to set the timing on ALH?
will it release the brakes...for a brake change?
Does it void warranty if we use for more brighter lights or .... ?
Anything you modify on your vehicle has the potential to void your warranty.
Can you prime the fuel pump with this and is it available in Europe?
