Its a great all around battery operated radio.

My dads long gone but his radio the same as this one is still going and he got it about 5 years ago and now I have it and we both were in new construction I still am and it still jams everything works as it should the only thing I can honestly complain about is the Handel breaking
Sorry about your father, but good to hear your radio is still carrying your memory of him on. Mine still works like new.
Does it play a USB music memory? Or is it for charging phones etc?
I have not tried to play music from the USB port. It does charge devices and I think that is what it was meant for.
Can you add the Ryobi speaker to this radio
That is a good question and I don't have the answer to that.
How good is the AM reception?
Not very good. I have both this radio and the small version, the small version has a better AM receiver.
I would say its ok I guess. I do not use AM, but I tired it and could pick up 4 or 5 stations. I am outside of Austin TX and do not know if that is good or not.

Yeah, this one is old. I bet they have something much better now.
This is not a good radio. Sound quality is poor. It is muddy and flat. In comparison to Superadio's and Sangeans, it underperforms. While convenient to run off of batteries, do not buy it for sound quality. See reviews elsewhere.
I agree the speakers are not great. But for a basic radio for the garage or around the house it works good.
