It was too hot to even think about working on the projects today, so we switched to arts and crafts.
If you have this Ryobi P746 radio, the factory 3-inch speakers are quite inadequate. It's simple to add your own speakers and kick this little player up to 11.

I use mine all the time now, kicks the pants off of other JBL speakers in quality of sound.

I would have just crimped some terminals lol, surprised there's room for a larger magnet speakers.
When you open it up, you can also remove the AC tranformer to make it lighter if you don't plan on using it corded or replace with a lightweight SMPS (but may interfere with AM reception)

I haven't used this much in the past few months, but I can absolutely compare it to some of the new Ryobi Bluetooth speakers if you'd like.

Couldn't those speakers mount from the back?

I think they can, but it was so much easier and provided more room to mount it in from the front.

Hey mate curious if this is any louder being that those speakers have a larger magnet and it draws more power curious because I'm wanting to do the same thing the standard speakers are absolute s***

It is louder by a little, but the important part is that it's not distorted at high volume. The treble is so much crisper and there is a increase in bass.

Just make sure your not overloading the speaker at 2 ohms

I just did this. It didn’t help at all. This radio has horrible sound. People don’t waste your time or money on this radio. It’s trash.
