    Great review! I would totally go for this. I use both M12 and M18 platforms. I like M18 for power and M12 for lightweight. My dad has the M18 version and while it’s nice, it’s big and HEAVY. I like that I can put this in my toolbox and carry it around. Thanks again for a great review!

    To anyone still thinking about buying this... do it! No regrets. The sound on radio is louder than if you are using Bluetooth by at least 50 to 75 percent more. It's compact, it is heavy he is not kidding but portable. The fact that one I purchased came with the ac adapter is a huge plus. Now I can charge my phone and my battery at the same time with it having to charge my battery with a separate adapter. And the reception is incredible.

    I have a minor hobby of paying attention to what bluetooth speakers are out there and are any good. One way I've found REALY helpful in rating the volume of a speaker is when the reviewer talks while the speaker is playing. This helps because the mic is trying to pick up both the speaker and the speaker (LOL) pun intended. Anyway it's pretty easy to tell how loud the speaker is by how the mic distortion sounds. For less practiced ears this still helps. My two bits. Other then that loved the review thanks for putting in all the time it takes to make quality video. Found you cause I was looking up electric pressure washers and noticed this vid.

    I have the Craftsman 19.2 Bluetooth radio that is almost the same size as the Milwaukee but doesn’t have the AC adapter and not very loud. Acme Tools has the Milwaukee Bluetooth radio in stock for $119 with free shipping for orders over $100 so I bought one and should have it by Thursday. The Milwaukee radio is the perfect size to fit on my workbench and not take up to much room and I can’t wait for it to get here.

    Only problem I see is the cord is a wall wart. If you’re going to use this on a surge protector you’re going to play a bit of charger Tetris. Otherwise, looks like a fantastic little radio. Super cute. Not going to pay $120 for it though.

    • @NanoXG
      @NanoXG 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      $120 isn’t bad at all honestly. Beats and JBL speakers are that and more. Sure they probably have better sound but won’t last long at job sites.

    Just picked one up and I like it. I’m just going to dedicate a 4ah battery to it and plug it in when I can, and run it off the battery when I can’t. I had the Makita noncharger radio and having to keep a charged battery in it was a pain in the ass. The m18 charger radios are way too big to lug around as I’m on a different residential job almost every day so portability was a big plus.

It appears that it runs it down too low and you get the red/ green flashing lights on the charger. I’ve tried this with 2 different batteries. Sound quality is it better then the small m12 speaker? And is there a dewalt or competition radio that sounds better about the same size?

    Maybe I got a dud, but as much as I want to love this thing, the audio quality sounds terrible in comparison to every other radio/bt speaker they've made.

    I am disappointed that the ac power supply is not built into the unit . The m18 has it built in with the cable stored at the back. If you take it somewhere and your battery goes flat you need the power supply!

    Nice , I agree with the m12/m18 issue.....I ask my Milwaukee rep about pricing and he wouldn't bugde however he did say a little above two dead Presidents.

    The sound is acceptable, it sounds hollow as it is only a speaker in a plastic shell, if you simply want to play music i would not recommend it as other bluetooth speaker in its price range is way better. For me it was because it was a charger at the same time and i don't really care about the quality when im working on a vehicle

      Both the Packout and the "smaller" M18 radio charger are 3.5A, which is a bit more than the standard charger but less than a rapid charger

      Great video / presentation & info WorkshopAddict!!! Regarding 'changing out batteries'. My buddy owns way too many Milwaukee 'gadgets' and just showed me this radio, and said, 'can't get the darn battery out' (the larger one is in it, which I thought was the 3.0 AH) 5:28. We didn't try yanking it out w/ large jawed vice-grips, or a winch, but seriously... it does NOT seem to just pull out by hand!?
      UNRELATED: Please change your cell phone password... I won't be able to sleep otherwise!!!

      @symcardnel1741 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just went and grabbed that SOB... learned the larger battery has the 'press tabs'. Squeezed n yanked real hard and she's out. Now my ole lady wants me to try that on her??

      That allows it to keep the clock time when it does not have an M12 in it.

    No mute, no play OR pause, and power brick... yuck. As for someone that might say "why you need mute OR play/pause?", it could be the source is not your phone so if you need to pause it... you can't. For mute... guess turning it off works.
