      Tampatec hey, I have a LG led 48" smart TV. Approximately a little over two years old. Tv works but I get "snow" on every input. Even screen cast. What happened to it.? Thanks for the great videos. Tv is otherwise snow. Not the cable box, or HDMI cable. Have picture on menus just not in any inputs. Thanks

      Tampatec I have a Vizio 55" 4k tv model number M55-C2 the serial number starts with LWZQSBBS The mean board is bad and looked for a replacement one but no luck only found other one's that aren't compatible. I was wondering if I replaced all the guts would that work? Or does it all come down to the panel that would not be compatible?

    • @SwapPartLLC
      @SwapPartLLC 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Those boards are identical except for firmware. So the replacement was programmed for a TV with a different LCD panel. You could have swapped the eeprom from your original board to the replacement and it would have worked, I do it all the time.

    Great videos! I just returned my Vizio 43" into service after a lightning strike. Thought it was the power board because I had nothing. I replaced the board before watching your video on checking voltage on board, that would have saved time and money. Bought a mother board on E-Bay, the correct number but wrong series, more time and money wasted. Well, after watching another one of your videos I got the right one. Last, everything worked but the remote control. Ordered an IR board, no go. With time and a lot of patience I checked the little 5 wire ribbon cable to the IR board. That was it! All fixed. I'm no electronics tech, just a retired guy with a Fluke meter. The parts total was about $70.00, It would have been less than half that had I watched your repair videos first. Thank you, I still saved $300.00 on a new TV and had a lot of fun fixing the damaged one.

    Thanks for doing this video. I really learned something here. I know that eventually I'm going to order a board. And using the sticker part number is the way to go.
    And thanks as well for the tip about the brightness being at 50% rather than all the way up. I would think that would also save some energy as well.

    The number stamped on the board is for the raw, unpopulated board. The same board is often used in many applications and may have both different devices mounted on it and different firmware. That is why you need to use the sticker number.

    Thx 4 D video!
    I'm used to giving numbers to supply house & them sending parts(HVAC!)!
    Sometimes I give all the numbers I see on the board!!
    Or they ask for more numbers!?
    Online can be different than direct consultation before getting part confirmed correctly!
    That's not really your fault , it's a live & learn moment of online expectancy!?
    Usually the model & serial number of the product & determining the part would be enough!!!? Version of the board...
    the company should know what parts are in the unit from those numbers!!
    But no... they want the tv service man to have it easier than the actual owner!?
    Thank goodness some of these electronic companies are really trying to help & get the right part to customers!!
