So I saw this video pop up on my feed but hadn't gotten around to watching it yet. I saw the thumbnail and thought "oh, that's a clever way to navigate your TV if the backlight goes out."
Literally 20 minutes ago the backlight of my TV went out. Still had audio playing, so I pulled out my phone and sure enough I could see the video in the area my phone lit up.
Would I have thought to do this without seeing your video (thumbnail)? Who knows, but what kind of timing is that?! Just finished watching part 1, and you can believe I'm now itching for part 2.

hi TampaTec, i was brought to this channel while searching for a solution to my tv's problem. i have a samsung hdtv curved tv. my tv channels were received through a cable provider connected via coax. everything seems to be working fine at first until one time, there was no audio to every channel, display was fine but the sound is either silence or static noise. i can confirm that my tv speakers are working fine because it does have sound when connected to the internet. my theories are either; the coaxial cable/wire are damaged OR my coaxial receiver is. as i said, i was brought here because of one of your videos where you suggested the hard reset and reading through the comments, i could say that it worked for most people. i have already tried it but it didn't help. hoping you could give a solution to this problem or at least suggest things to do to diagnose what is wrong and how to fix my tv.. thanks😊😊😊😊😊

I have a Philips tv where there’s a vertical Dark shadow (in what looks like 1 row of led lamps) on the left side of the screen. In all the led strip replacement videos I see the strips are horisontal, so if I assume that’s the case for my Philips as Well it seems unlikely that vertical row of leds would go out across multiple strips. Any idea where I should look for the error here? Like what could cause this, top-3 reasons or something? 😆 thanks for a great Channel!

I have 55" LG TV. When it powered on, the splash screen displayed for a few seconds and the screen goes dark. Visual and onboard check of all capacitors showed no defect and within 10% of values. LED+ voltage check: started with 74V and screen working, then it dropped to 49V after a few seconds and the screen went dark. Also, an amber led is blinking 3 times on the power board. My guess is problem with the power board. What do you think?

Would love your help @tampatec. I have a Samsung un55ks800dfxza. It turns on (based on standby light and blacklight glow) but after a second or two the standby light and the backlight both go off for a couple seconds before they both turn back on for a few seconds and the cycle repeats. It seems like this would be a power issue but from some of my searches it sounds like a power issue would prevent me from getting standby lights at all. Could that indicate an issue with the backlights which is causing the tv to power down?

  • @mscir

My 40" xbr9 is getting 15Vac 6Vdc to the 2 boards that attach to the screen (are these the backlight boards)?
The boards are labeled 12V. Is that supposed to be 12VDC?
Can you recommend component testing on the power board to fix this? Could this be due to the bad diode problem you mentioned in another video? When diodes go bad do they just blow up and open, or do they partially rectify and partially pass AC?
Does the combination of ac and dc to these boards indicate that the main board is bad? And is it worth replacing, if it's supposed to supply 12Vdc with no AC is it possible that both of these boards are now blown as well?

Sorry sir, just a out-of-topic quick question, in my testing/checking MOSFETs using Multi-meter, when the gate is charged, why some MOSFETs (N-channel & P-channel), the drain to source let us say 0.002 or less my meter reads, others starts with more higher like 0.435 and running up as fast as a second or half a second until showing infinite? Discharged test is working (no reading on drain to source). What does it mean? Does all MOSFETs behave like that?

I would make a jig for the meter probes because by plugging it into the female side you expand the contacts which in turn won't make contact when the plug is plugged back in.... I would check if there is output voltage from the PSU to the LEDs.... But everyone has different ideas to repairs.

Does this fix work for computer screens? I purchased a screen and it looks as if it cracked on the inside but instead of the damage being on one side the whole screen is dark, is that fixable?

Great video but I am not sure i understand well. Suppose all the lights went on when u connect the LED tester. Wouldn't that indicate that the lights are ok and something else is not OK? what would it be? PS. Audio is fine and so is the rest of the functions (app selection, input selection, etc)

I have a 42” led panny. First green blinking then on with white screen for 1sec, just like you describe as a flash. Then off and continues red blinking (1-pause-1-pause). This all seems to point to towards panel/led strips. However, I also disconnected the driver board to which the led strips are connected, and still the standby lights stays blinking red. How can that be, if disconnected then how come it is still blinking? I leaning towards faulty led strips, but logic seems to say otherwise. How to proceed? Thanks.

Having issues with my LG Tv. I’ve replaced the power supply, mother board, and led strips, and still get no picture... I’ve tried the flashlight test and see no picture on screen. Possible t-con board, or panel itself?
