I got a $1400 laptop for $250 because it took 4 minutes to load windows. You'd click on start and it took 5 seconds to bring up the menu. They replaced the hdd in it and still same issue. It ended up being sold as "parts". Turns out the optane was dying. Replaced that with an m.2 nvme and boom! 10 second window load times. Great gamer and only $350 spent total. (technically not free, but $1050 in my pocket is pretty good)
Got an old smashed up iPhone that would have been thrown out. Did a lot of repair work on it, replaced the screen, and voilá - an awesome phone that I can use whenever there's a risk I could break the screen (a cheap replacement screen is 8$, a replacement for my normal phone is 80$)
Some one did give this flat screen TV the screen was broken and I place the screen another screen, not the screen for it,but when I check it was a bit shorter but the connection was good
I am a 67 year old woman who has always loved (since my childhood) to repair appliances. I had a 55" TV that was not working after only 3 years. I discovered this video and started to repair it. My TV is working great after a few hours to find the tiny little part to put the tape in. Thanks for sharing your genius!
You and I have kindred spirit! Fixed it in under 15mins! I have a Samsung 55 inch just like this one in the video to fix- the tech i took it to said that it can't be fixed but he wanted to buy if from me for parts but I declined- thank God I didn't - so I'm going in and try again to fix it for myself again...
@@debdavenat I replaced the t-con board (simple job) in my D32x-D1 Vizio and it fixed the problem. Also, I had a fuse go out on the power board on my niece's 43" Vizio. I replaced the fuse and she now has a great picture again.
I had to come back to this video for a reason.. my Panasonic led tv had same flickering issue they sent a technician from Panasonic but he couldn't repair it and said ill have to go for screen replacement which was costing me price of a new tv...also he told me that this tv has absolutely no value now if I give it in exchange for new tv.. I denied screen replacement and started searching on yt for solution and came across this video. I'm glad to say I've fixed the tv myself just by watching this video..their technician failed to do this simple fix. Thank you for making this video you saved my $$
This is not exactly a fix, this is a workaround; nonetheless you can now watch TV with your set. The LCD panel is still defective. If you decide to live with the consequences, everything is fine and without hesitation I would do the same thing with any of my TVs, as long as they are out of warranty.
I must say man, after 5 years of DIY TV fixing this might be the single most useful tip in diagnosing picture problems. I have never ever heard of anyone talking about clock lines in any video, literature or otherwise and 've done a lot of research and reading on TV repair. You got my vote, subscription and like. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Rees, I fixed our TV today, with a tiny piece of sellotape. I didn't have a clue where the clock wires were, but I tried each wire one by one, and within 10 minutes I had isolated the shorting issue. The TV looks greatnow, thanks so much! I'm so happy and I learned so much about monitors from your videos and taking the monitor apart, priceless!
This method revived my 3-year-old Skyworth TV. Two technicians said that it was beyond repair. Saw your video and proceeded to place the tape on the ribbon. After about 30+ tries, the 2mm tape saved my TV. Thank you from Malaysia!
My son and I fixed his Sony TV today with your trick. We both were surprised that it worked in the end. We had a bit trouble finding the Clock lines because they were labelled on one connector but not on the other. Finally we managed it and are very satisfied. Of course you can still see some lines but only if you are near to the TV.
@@FrugalRepair I’m sorry, but I can hear your voice in your video but can’t see anything going on in it. Is there a function that went wrong in your video?
This guy really has a passion for what he does. He doesn't just look at the major parts for issues, he dissects the parts until he finds the issue that is creating the problem. That is a rare find in, any field of prepare work. Great job guy...,!!👍🙂
@JENASIDE It's called troubleshooting. Like he said, it's a step by step process. It's how a real, trained technician of any discipline is supposed to diagnose the problem. There's no guessing and just changing out parts. If they're doing that they're NOT a technician.
I am happy to inform you that I followed your steps and was able to stick the tape to get the picture back. The issue of fine lines was still there but I did not have your patience to find which was the faulty line to cover it with tape. The way you took out time to showcase the issue and resolution is commendable. I had 3 engineers who told me that the TV's screen was gone and it would be replaced by paying 50% of the TV cost, a small piece of tape did what these engineers could not do.
Finally, someone that speaks English explains with detail, what causes TV LCD panel issues. Louis Rossman would be so proud of you. Thank you and God bless you Sir!!!!
I love how much clear info you gave in 10 minutes...this same amount of info in other videos takes 55 minutes with intros and people trying to display all aspects of their personality...and by the time you're done watching...you're exhausted and you decide to just buy a new TV and be done with it.
Great video!! I love that you not only fixed it, but you explained every part of it along the way. It’s nice to know what you’re doing, not that you just put tape on it to fix it. 👏
Thank you 🙏🏾 so much for posting this repair video. This fix worked on my Samsung UN55KS8000FXZA that kept boot cycling. You saved me a lot of $, and I feel so accomplished. I did this initially and it did not work. I knew I had a good power supply, but was not sure about the main board and led panel. I went ahead and installed a new main board and no change. I did not find any burned resistors on the led panel. Went back to scotch taping along the 2 connectors on the main board. Tried a few different sections and then all of a sudden, voila! For anyone out there with a Samsung and who has tried almost everything, try the scotch tape method again on various sections. You may get lucky! It’s worth a shot and costs zero dollars!
One of those so simple I can't believe it works things. Spent an hour with a multimeter trying to find a short and failed. 5 minutes cutting tape and sorted. Thanks a lot, very intuitive solution.
I was finally able to use your method for a Sony XBR-65C900C. Following your suggestions, I was able to block the ribbon lines causing the issues with tape and now all issues of the 4K TV are resolved. No more black lines on top of the screen and no more out of focus intermittent problems. It is just like new. I did some try and error and ended up blocking around 5 lines on the right side ribbon. When I saw that all symptoms disappeared, I did not try to unblock any more lines. Thanks again, you are a lifesaver.
I garbage picked a Toshiba 50” 4K with built in Firestick manufactured in 2018. I followed your video because the entire screen had horizontal lines. One side was good. I used the scotch tape on the other side slowly removing tiny strips with a exacto blade until I had a beautiful picture. The tv works fantastic now. Thank you for your help.
That was amazing. I have been fixing LCD TV's since 2010 and never have I ever been led to this repair method. Of course I am doing warranty repair so if the T-comm board is replaced and I still have the same symptoms whatever company just replaces the TV. However I just got for free a nice 70 inch Vizio that has back light and when the menu buttons are pushed there is a faint raise in luminosity on the screen where the menu would normally be but no text or pictures otherwise. The luminosity gain follows when I scroll through the menu blindly so I know the TV works - just going to be and issue with the T-comm board - but thanks to you if I pull out that one cable at a time and find it is not the T-comm board but something in the panel I will not have to take the time to part this beast out - I should be able to work through the clock connections and could be a quick fix almost free - thank you!
Your advice saved my TV! 13 month old 55" TCL Roku went black on Christmas Eve of all days, 28 days out of warranty. I tried all the resets to no avail and was looking at replacements. Then I followed the isolation procedure outlined and found by disconnecting the right cable half the screen came back. While the clock lines wern't identified with anything like "clk", I isolated lines 2 - 9 on the left side and one by one exposed the connections. When I exposed the connection on pin 4 the full screen came back. Pin 4 was the only one I had to leave tape on and the TV is saved! I can't find any visible issues with the picture or performance. Thanks so much!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Mr. FeugalRepair Man! You just saved me from having to buy a new TV! Even though I had to cover up a number of pins instead of 1 (not nearly as skilled with an exacto knife as you are) I don’t notice any difference in image quality. I am telling everyone I talk to that they MUST subscribe to your channel! I cannot thank you enough for all the work you put into your videos and teaching us how to repair instead of replace. You are incredible!
So glad I found your page! The material you cover is so interesting and I love the way you go about diagnosing and determining the issues. My dad used to repair TVs back in the 70s and he would include me and ask me to hand him a tool or something and I have good memories of that as a little girl! He would also use a mirror in front of the TVs so he would not have to keep flipping the screen around, which I thought was a really cool idea! Thanks again for the great info!
That was an interesting diagnosis. I've never seen this kind of process of elimination to fix horizontal lines on a large lcd screen. I'll probably never see this problem in real life again. It seems like a rarity but it's nice to know how creative one can be in finding a creative solution to pretty much bypass the issue. Nice job FrugalRepair.👍
Great instructional video. Excellent and Intelligent troubleshooting skills. One of the best I've seen on youtube. The prior tech; as most people, have no such wisdom to isolate the problem to the suspect board onto the component level. They swap boards to no avail. then discard the entire system into our landfills creating a toxic disaster. Nobody takes their time to analyze the problem, research online of known defects, recalls and/or engineering flaws let alone a circuit roadmap or schematic for your specific brand and model We are a throwaway society as we would rather replace than repair. Pay for things twice out of convenience rather than DIY. The steps in this video are priceless: cause and effect, isolation, disengage, test one side by elimination, abnormal heat dissipation by thermal imaging, etc....just brilliant. I can relate with the author of repairing things that are practically new. I'm more into the "old school" vintage electronic goods of yesteryear unlike the throwaway electronics we have today. You buy a new TV. It goes out in less than a year. Its absurd as a consumer but great for our economy. Back when America meant quality, those golden years are long gone !! . . ,
Another example of technology mover backwards. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that finds it totally unacceptable to litter landfills with our disposable toys? E-Wastes are buried or incinerated in landfills where their toxins pollute our land, air and water. Most of the time, they are sent to developing countries where workers extract the precious metals from the discarded electronics. Workers on E-Waste sites are paid an average of $1.50 per day. No wonder the Planet is rebelling and hitting us with powerful storms, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, trying to get rid of this cancer called "Humans".
You, Sir, are a freaking legend. A friend of mine wanted to get rid of his 55inch Samsung-TV and gave it to me. I just taped it and it's working like a charm, even without any lines or loss of color etc.
Wow, I learnt so much in so little time. Thanks allot. I used to say it next to impossible to be fixed when the screens get like that but now I have a different perspective. Thanks man.🤜🏾🤛🏾💯💯💯💯
Excellent work and explanation, hopefully you are inspiring individuals to TRY and fix electronics/ merchandise instead of adding perfectly good and fixable products to landfills. Thank you very much.
TLDR: This video helped me fix a tv I had given up on. Thank you very much for posting this solution. I don't normally comment on videos but I feel like I have to. I had recently purchased a replacement tv to upgrade to a bigger size. The tv I was replacing was fine at the time and I was going to use it in a different room. By the time I had the mount all set for the older tv (about a week) it was no longer working. It had the same issue you were having in this video... black screen with sound and backlight. I had watched a dozen or so videos on repairs and even called customer support with nothing working. So I set aside the tv because I was going to get rid of it (on a free stuff site or trashing it) but I really didnt want to waste the once perfectly good tv. Two or so weeks later I had finally decided the tv needed to go and then this video popped up on my suggested videos. I watched it thinking it would be the same as the others I had seen but the tape was intriguing. In this video you showed me something I hadnt tried (taking the ribbon cables out and reconnecting them) and I figured it was worth trying one more thing before completely giving up on it. Less than an hour later my old tv was back in perfect working order. Thankfully I didnt have to use the tape at all (those connections are incredibly small). The act of taking the ribbon cables out and reconnecting them was all it took to bring it back from the dead. The tv is now mounted and working great. Long story short this video showed me how to fix my tv and keep it from a landfill and for that I am very grateful. Thank you so much for posting this solution.
I had some family health situations I needed to help with over the last year. But thankfully things are much better now. Thanks for the encouragement! I’m working on part two right now. Let me know if you want to see anything else in particular. I’m planning on some videos about solar after this next tv video.
wow...thank you very much for this hack. i was about to give my 55 inch Iffalcon smart tv as scrap. i did just liek you and put tape on specific lines like yours...even though the picture is not sharp and has soem lines still it works well. thanks again...
Here dropping by like many folks to say YES THIS WORKS. Found a 50in 4k UHD Vizio on the street for free today, waiting to be tossed out. The owner claimed it "didn't work". Had some flickering issues. Took me but 45min to open the back up, test tape on the ribbon for a bit, and bingo. Like brand new. Thank you sir!
I'm starting to get horizontal lines which are flickering across the top and bottom of my screen 😔 hope I can gather the courage to open it up and check it based on your advice 🙏
I can't believe it, but this worked. We changed out the main board and T con board due to sudden vertical lines that appeared on the screen, but nothing worked. When I followed the instructions on this video, the TV suddenly started working. Thanks Frugal Repair!
That was a surprisingly awesome process, bud. In stead of thinking outside the box you just taped it up! Kickass never considered that technique. Subbing and studying the wys of your force.
Great video, THANK YOU. I saw a neighbor throw out a 75” TCL 4K tv and took it home to repair. Thanks to your video I now have a fully functional 75” Roku TV. It was a challenge getting to pin 9 out of 60 and I bought a magnifying headset and some special tweezers/exacto set for about $25 but that was it along with scotch tape. Thanks again!
Thank you very much for this informative and precise education. I nearly gave out a huge amount of money for a replacement of my 55" WebOS LG Tv screen. I got it fixed following the information and guide. Thank you very much and God bless you.
Great video. Followed the steps and was able to fix the issue i was having. Went to a repair shop and they told me i needed a new screen. Checked the manufacture's website and the screen cost $360, was just thinking of getting a new TV but then i came across your video and said i would give it a try.
Thank you very much for sharing your in knowledge. I used this to “repair” a 60” Sharp TV. I had already replaced the power board and thought it was the light strips. I prices replacement by a pro at $350, so I went to TH-cam to see how to it myself. There I found your video. Long story short, there was no jumper map so I just went to town. Saw varying results. After 4 hours, I was wrapping up for the night and took all the tape off. Somehow, everything works perfectly. No tape! Went from a dead screen with sound to tv that seems brand new. Any idea why or how that could be? Thank you again.
Corrosion on a loose connection. Sometimes with lots of electronics you can reconnect plug and it scrapes off the corrosion for a fresh new copper connection.
Thank you for doing this and for a great detailed video on these kinds of issues. My TV (Vizio m502-b1) seems to do similarly to the darkening screen, only the vertical lines appear all in the middle, and by the bottom left corner (where the TV power button is), it seems brighter in that corner. I actually tested the ribbons and it seems like it's one of the ribbons causing the problem, so I tried taping (though I don't have a way to test which prongs nor have an exacto to trim precisely). It helped a bit but still has some glitches (much better now though than it was). Do you think that this is due to a bad T-Con board, or bad pins on the ribbon? I guess my question is, would you replace the T-Con board, the seemingly bad ribbon, or the other chip where the ribbon connects to the panel?
This is the best video that I've watched discussing this technique. THIS WORKED FOR ME TONIGHT!!! (8-12-24) Visio V555-G1, pin 56 on the left (front view, on right rear) ribbon connector. They are so small though that I couldn't make a piece of tape that small once I narrowed it down to that pin so I have actually have 54-56 taped off. I may go back in later and just cut the line in the ribbon. Too bad there's not a test box with lots of switches for each line. The factory proably has one. Thank you again for a great video.
Would this technique work on Sony X9507G Bravia? Because my tv isn't showing any display/pictures but has backlight, it turns on, it also produces sounds and audio. The only problem is display/pictures.
I don’t see why not. Give the isolation technique a try and see if it points you to a screen issue or if both sides behave the same, a tcon board issue
Why cant all youtube how to vids be like this? The algorithm brought me here becsuse i (think) my backlight went out in my tv today and i feel way too incapable of fixing it. But ill be coming to your vids for troubleshooting in the future. God Bless!
Vertical lines usually indicate a data problem. If you have already changed the tcon board, then that your issue is most likely inside of the LCD panel, or on the LCD driver board. Depending on what kind of vertical lines you’re talking about, it could also be a tab bond failure.
Excellent information and knowledge. You were able to help me restore a 55 inch Vizio that I thought for sure was a goner. It had an array of red, pink and black vertical lines covering the whole screen. I was worried both panels might be out. But following your detailed steps, I was successfully able to diagnose the faulty clock line and block it. Thank you! Money saved and felt good being able to fix it and also learn something new.
I will definitely try your tricks repair in our tv when i go back to philippines. Our tv had the same problems. Thanks in advance..new subscribers here from bahrain 🇧🇭
Frequently in my city we have facebook curb alerts. it’s pretty common for neighbors to put free items at the end of their driveways. I was running errands and I saw this LG 4K 75 inch TV at the end of my neighbors driveway, It was free.I saw that the LCD wasn’t cracked, immediately knew that whatever was wrong with it had to be small. Took it home, watched this video. Understood everything that was said. Followed these exact steps and I now have a working TV. Your information is extremely helpful, didn’t need to take it to a technician, I became the technician. Thank you so much!!!
Just fixed my Hitachi 58" 4K TV in the UK using this method - many thanks. About 4 months ago, a single horizontal line appeared across the screen about 5/6 of the way down. TV was about 2 years old. This progressed to the area below the line becoming discoloured and then, finally, a totally black screen but with sound and backlight still operative. I did a bit of research and ordered a new TCON board from China. I did get a picture of sorts which faded over a couple of minutes and then ended up with some strange green interference all over the screen. Went back to original TCON, did the left and right disconnects and narrowed the problem down to the right side. Tried some bits of tape on a few areas of the ribbon cable and ended up with various results, none of them good. Was about to take the TV to the local dump (recycling centre) on my weekly run yesterday but something stopped me. Woke up this morning with the resolve to have one last try. I studied the board carefully with a magnifying glass and narrowed the number of 'likely pins' down from 80 to 15. Being an old git, my levels of dexterity with delicate operations are not great. The smallest slither of tape I could manage covered about 3-4 pins on the cable. However, I definitely got warmer as the morning went on, ending up with a full picture but with 3 vertical discoloured areas on the right hand side. Not feeling confident to slice off further bits of tape with a knife, I used my finger nail to ease the tape back off one pin and, Eureka, full picture restored and no lines anywhere. Who would have thought it? Not sure how long it will last until the next problem occurs but it's working well right now. This does require patience so if you think you are beginning to get frustrated with it, walk away and come back later or another day. Thanks again for your excellent video.
The only defect I can see is slight contrast of colour (color) between left and right sides of screen - red being a little less intense - you have to look very hard to notice it and I can live with that no problem.
Thanks mate. Ive just managed to do the fix on my Samsung tv. My coloured lines have disappeared but i have a small stain/ muddy edge to one side...im happy to keep it like this as its much less noticeable than the lines. This process takes patience but well worth it!!!
Thank you for this tip! After some trial and error, I found the corrct pins on the ribon cables chaining the 3 seprate lcd PCBs together. Saved my 65" TCL from the recycle bin.
I wish I would have seen this video a year ago when my 70" samsung did this. I knew I could fix it but couldn't find any info. I came across another video of a guy doing this and tried it. I tried it an it worked although I didnt have much info on narrowing it down or any details like you shared. I appreciate the info and need to take the tv back down and do further diagnosis now that I have the info you shared.
Great video that helped me to save my 50" Panasonic TV that suddenly stopped working. In my case I had to tape 3 pins. If I leave the take on any 2 pins or 1 pin within the 3 the lines return to show on the screen.
Man! I’m addicted. Found my 4th tv from the trash on the curb. 58” 4K Vizio. Fixed in 10minutes. I’m blown away how easy it is to fix tvs. Now if only they could tape the remote and power cord to the tv before they throw it out😂. Thanks FrugalRepair I’m never not going to be searching for trash tvs now!!
First, I'm pleased to say that I used the tape technique to repair our $$$ Samsung QLED 75" 4K TV that was barely over a year old. The picture has been great for over a year! Now I have a problem with an LG 55UF6450. The TV worked great until about a month ago. The screen would flicker, then get "static" (fuzzy), then fix itself...temporarily. Now the screen is almost always fuzzy white static. Occasionally, the picture will show and play for a few seconds, then the screen will freeze or go back to static. It doesn't matter the source--live air TV, HDMI, component--all the same result. HOWEVER, when I bring up the TV's Smart Menu, or other still picture, it seems fine. It's only when there is motion that it croaks. Also, the sound works perfectly. I tried the tape technique on the LG but no success. Sadly, I'm thinking I'll have to replace the T-CON board. ANY OTHER THOUGHTS??
Congrats on that repair on the QLED! If there is a good picture (normal) with the menu, etc then I would suspect an issue on the main board. If it's only when there is a moving picture, then you might be right, the tcon may be the issue (assuming you did the isolation technique like in the video and both halves showed the same issue).
I am soooooo happy that I found your video. You taught me how to fix my tv. I really think the tape made the color look more vibrate. Thank youuu for doing this video
Awesome! I have been trying to figure out what's wrong with my Samsung after 1 year of use. That black cloud is what's happening and now I will try to repair it. Thank you!!!
I have a 50” Insignia Roku TV. After 4.5 years, a black horizontal line emerged. I found this video and was skeptical I would be able to do it or that it would work for me. After some trial and error covering and uncovering parts of the ribbon cable, it works! Thank you for your help!
I have a VIZIO v585-j01 and it took watching this and the next video, and a little bit of guesswork, but THIS WORKED. Thank you so much for posting this!! The screen on my unit was flickering with purple and green lines and generally going haywire, and I was worried because I have no experience with electronics, but I used the method of unclipping the wiring tape on each side of the tcon board to see which side had the problem, and following through with a small little piece of tape on the wiring tape on that side and it worked!! You do need good up-close vision, or an aid for that lol Definitely made me feel myself getting older, starting at all of that miniscule circuitry 😅
Awesome! This solution works perfectly. 😂😂 I must say it was a haslet trying to open my TV. But it paid off. I would have spent so much money for a repair service. Thanks man
What was the best thing someone gave you because they didn't want it any more ? It could be broken or working. If broken, what did you do to fix it?

Got an old smashed up iPhone that would have been thrown out. Did a lot of repair work on it, replaced the screen, and voilá - an awesome phone that I can use whenever there's a risk I could break the screen (a cheap replacement screen is 8$, a replacement for my normal phone is 80$)
Can a torn ribbon be fix with tape?or did need new ribbon?
A MacBook Pro. I ended up doing a workaround to avoid the faulty video card. Works great now!

This guy really has a passion for what he does. He doesn't just look at the major parts for issues, he dissects the parts until he finds the issue that is creating the problem. That is a rare find in, any field of prepare work. Great job guy...,!!👍🙂
Thanks for the encouragement!
@JENASIDE
It's called troubleshooting. Like he said, it's a step by step process. It's how a real, trained technician of any discipline is supposed to diagnose the problem. There's no guessing and just changing out parts.
If they're doing that they're NOT a technician.
@@FrugalRepair I'm still unsure how to know which cable strip to apply tape to
I definitely agree. He should be teaching our students at any good school!!👍
Yes indeed he shows us the cause and how to go about
I am happy to inform you that I followed your steps and was able to stick the tape to get the picture back.
Thanks! Glad it helped.
Haha so true
I been fixing TVs for a while and this was one of, if not the easiest fixes ever. Thanks a million. You definitely learned a subscriber.
Thanks!
My Samsung TV had half of the picture white, just reconnected t-con ribbon cables And works like new. This was easiest fix 😁
It's not exactly a fix, more a workaround. Not a bad one if the result isn't very noticeable.
This is fantastic, exactly how DIY TH-cam repairs should be, easy to understand and undertake. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I love how much clear info you gave in 10 minutes...this same amount of info in other videos takes 55 minutes with intros and people trying to display all aspects of their personality...and by the time you're done watching...you're exhausted and you decide to just buy a new TV and be done with it.
Thanks for watching and your encouragement!
Great video!! I love that you not only fixed it, but you explained every part of it along the way. It’s nice to know what you’re doing, not that you just put tape on it to fix it. 👏
Thanks for the kind words!
Glad to hear you got it working!
Hi Lance
Is it still working good till date?
I was finally able to use your method for a Sony XBR-65C900C. Following your suggestions, I was able to block the ribbon lines causing the issues with tape and now all issues of the 4K TV are resolved. No more black lines on top of the screen and no more out of focus intermittent problems. It is just like new. I did some try and error and ended up blocking around 5 lines on the right side ribbon. When I saw that all symptoms disappeared, I did not try to unblock any more lines. Thanks again, you are a lifesaver.
Your tv still working fine after blocking ?
never seen anyone explaining something with so many details. you are an amazing person thank you so much for your help.
Thanks for watching!
Wow, that’s a great story! Congrats.
same here, 55 Hisense. Gonna try the tape tomorrow morning. Mine was alternating good to bad every second. I think it changes direction every second?
I have the same TV as you, how did you find the clock lines? I don't see it on ours.
Wow, that’s great to hear! Congrats on getting the picture back.
Well,,,,that was amazing how you went through those lines and found the problem, you make it seem so simple and easy. Thanks EJ
I used your method and it fixed the problem in my Vizio tv!! My wife and I thank you for saving us the headache of having to buy a new bedroom tv!!
Awesome! Congrats on the fix.
Thanks for watching and your note!
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
Can’t believe this is the only video that actually fixed my issue with my TV. Such a solid tip. Saved me $250+ on replacing my tv. Thank you!!
Congrats on the repair!
After 2 hours of work with this perfect video a fix my horizontal line problem on a lg led tv. You teach one more thing to an engineer. Thanks a lot.
That's awesome to hear! Congrats on the fix.
You did such a good job explaining exactly how you were doing everything then I'm 100% confident I could fix this problem myself
Dude you are amazing. I have never seen anything like it.....I have learnt so much from this video. What an eye-opener.
Thank you for your kind words!
Thanks! I hope that I can help give others the encouragement to give it a try.
Thanks for watching and commenting! Great job!
Where have you been man? We miss your great content!
I had some family health situations I needed to help with over the last year. But thankfully things are much better now. Thanks for the encouragement! I’m working on part two right now. Let me know if you want to see anything else in particular. I’m planning on some videos about solar after this next tv video.
Cool repair, Rhys! Can’t wait for the next part!
Thanks, I'm working on it! =)
I can't thank you enough, this actually worked and saved me from buying a new TV or expensive repair. THANK YOU!!!!
Congrats on the fix! I am very happy to hear it.

wow...thank you very much for this hack. i was about to give my 55 inch Iffalcon smart tv as scrap. i did just liek you and put tape on specific lines like yours...even though the picture is not sharp and has soem lines still it works well. thanks again...
Great job! That’s encouraging to hear
Man, I used this guide to fix my DELL monitor. All worked like some dark magic. Super respect to the author! Thank you so much!
That's really clever, i wish i could find a TV to attempt my luck.
Here's hoping to more of these videos in the future
Thanks for watching! My wife found this one for me in a local Facebook group she is in.
That is one to bypass the panel issue. Good Job!
Thank you!
Congratulations! That’s great you got it working again and let us know.
It was great bro! Nice demo! Watchiing here from phillipines! God bless!

I'm starting to get horizontal lines which are flickering across the top and bottom of my screen 😔 hope I can gather the courage to open it up and check it based on your advice 🙏
hello, sound like you having the same problem as mine. Did you fix it?
Sounds like a faulty tcon flickering lines are usually caused by tcon but solid horizontal lines as shown in this video are lcd/led panel issues
I can't believe it, but this worked. We changed out the main board and T con board due to sudden vertical lines that appeared on the screen, but nothing worked. When I followed the instructions on this video, the TV suddenly started working. Thanks Frugal Repair!
Congratulations on getting your image back!
Therefore the problem is the ribbon jus asking.
Dude, subbed just because of the fact your face is mesmorising in a good way
That was a surprisingly awesome process, bud. In stead of thinking outside the box you just taped it up! Kickass never considered that technique. Subbing and studying the wys of your force.
Haha, thanks!

Ive got a TV with very slight lines at the top visible on brighter images. I can't wait to give this a go.
Let me know how it goes. If this video doesn’t help you hopefully the next one (part 2) will.
Great video. Followed the steps and was able to fix the issue i was having.
Went to a repair shop and they told me i needed a new screen. Checked the manufacture's website and the screen cost $360, was just thinking of getting a new TV but then i came across your video and said i would give it a try.
That is great to hear! Congrats on the fix.
Thanks! No, I don’t know why. It may be heat related or pressure on a cable or a connection issue.
I have nothing to say.sir nice interpretation.god bless..
God Bless!
Thank you for your encouragement!
wow, thanks for the sharing.
Blessings,,thank you I will have to try that one
Let me know how it goes!
My TV just went blank don’t know what to do 1 year any advice please
My guy. I picked up a 34 inch ultra wide with half the screen flickering for 30 dollars and this got it working. Thanks a million
That is so awesome! Congratulations.
I'm New here..Do have one that show how to fix Virtical lines on a 60 inch LG 5600.I still have lines after changing T- Con board..help please..
Vertical lines usually indicate a data problem. If you have already changed the tcon board, then that your issue is most likely inside of the LCD panel, or on the LCD driver board. Depending on what kind of vertical lines you’re talking about, it could also be a tab bond failure.
So is the average non knowing person is supposed to what fix their own TV following your video lol, man you're a TV repair man lol
If you dont know how to operate a roll of tape you probably shouldn't get out of bed in the morning.
Congrats, that is great to hear!
Will do,I will be in church today, so tomorrow God's Will
How abut dropping the distracting background music?
Much easier to hear what you're saying that way.

My boyfriend just did this to my 58” Vizio, and it worked. Thank you!
Awesome! Tell him congrats for me.
Congrats on the repair!
Congrats on getting rid of the lines!
Thank you for this tip! After some trial and error, I found the corrct pins on the ribon cables chaining the 3 seprate lcd PCBs together. Saved my 65" TCL from the recycle bin.
Congrats! That's awesome to hear.
Incredible! Thank you for this video, I was able to follow your instructions and diagnose my tcl, use the tape method and now she works like a dream!
That’s great to hear! Congrats on the repair.
That’s what we all did living in the Soviet Union, we fixed things. 👏👏👏 bravo! We need more of the fixing and less if throwing away things
Amazing video!! Fixed my issue!! Literally watched tons of videos .. and this is the only one that made it make sense and helped me fix it !!! 😅
Thank you! Congratulations on the repair!
This was the best idea I ever got on fixing a TV. I was able to fix a Samsung 70 inch my mom gave me before she threw it away. Thank you so much!!
Thanks for watching!
Great video that helped me to save my 50" Panasonic TV that suddenly stopped working. In my case I had to tape 3 pins. If I leave the take on any 2 pins or 1 pin within the 3 the lines return to show on the screen.
Awesome! Congrats on the repair.
Congrats! Make sure always to check for a cracked screen before you take it home. That’s the one thing you can’t fix.
For sure! Learned that from your Samsung 32” video!! Thanks again!
Fixed my TV with this video, you saved me £££, big thanks 👌🏿
Congratulations!
Congrats on the repair! Great to hear.
Awesome! I have been trying to figure out what's wrong with my Samsung after 1 year of use. That black cloud is what's happening and now I will try to repair it. Thank you!!!
I just fixed my tv following this tutorial and it worked without spending a dime.
Congratulations!
I am not a technician... but i love to know more about the process of tv repairing that i can be done.... thank you for this tip...
I have a 50” Insignia Roku TV. After 4.5 years, a black horizontal line emerged. I found this video and was skeptical I would be able to do it or that it would work for me. After some trial and error covering and uncovering parts of the ribbon cable, it works! Thank you for your help!
You are one smart guy! Makes me wish I was still in the trade and learning more!
Thank you ! just fixed a 43" tv that was thrown out, so new it still had the protective film on the frame!
Congratulations on the repair!
Thanks man
Congratulations on sticking it out and getting your image back!
Wanted to come back to this video and say thank you. Was able to fix the tv. Great job.
