Having the correct battery in your 3-series is VERY important. I've experimented with several, top dollar, highly recommended batteries, only to revert back to the OE style battery. When they start to go bad, you feels like your car has hundreds of electrical gremlins at once. Also, remember to reset/calibrate/register your new battery so the charging system will treat your new battery properly.
What do you recommend getting that is OE style?
Sorry but I tried to watch this JUST to see what the temperature was at final fill time. But I didn't hear you say any temperature and the night club bass was louder than your narration. So here is the procedure. (1) You fill when cold, then replace the plug. (2) Then start the engine, go from D to R a few times, then warm up the car until the final fill temp. (3) The final fill temp is between 40c-50c or 104f-122f. THAT is the window of time when you should have the car running, remove the plug again and fill until it starts to spill out, then reinstall drain plug. The temperature is important!! Too cold and you may overfill, and too hot and you may under fill the transmission.Besides that it was good camera work etc. I just don't know why so many DIY videos have distracting loud bass or heavy metal music when people just need info. P.S. I love loud bass, but it's better when I am driving the car.

I can remember exactly but you need to fill until spilling. Then start and engage D and R a few times. When it reaches about 100f (if I remember right) then you add more fluid until it is spilling and then quickly put the plug in. Do NOT turn the engine off until after you reinstall the plug or the fluid will come back out all over the floor.
Hi, you can shift gears while the car is still on the quick jacks. Btw don't forget to register the new battery to the car. The car has to "know' how to charge the new battery! Keep it up. Dutch regards, Nico.

The bass slaps everytime
I have had my E92 for about 5 years, I is barely on the road before I have to fix something. I have a list as long as my arm of repairs and new parts I have replaced. I have even removed the ECU and replaced the Mosfet transistors that fire the injectors. Rebuilt turbos, new rear cats, all 4 02 sensors, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, ignition coils 3 times, refurbished series 12 injectors, high pressure fuel pump, power steering pump, numerous radiator hoses, a new radiator, starter motor, all sensor cables ABS, wheel speed and brake pad wear sensors, steering angle sensor, new transmission cooler, new battery- obviously coded with my software, aluminium top engine cooling hose connector, plastic oem broke, new lower right intercooler hose, new serpentine pulley belt and a whole lot of other shit. Bluetooth module failed recently. So tomorrow I refill my gearbox and sell the mofo or probably trade it in. I would feel bad selling this car to someone. I am buying a brand new 2024 5 door 1.5 litre Japanese Suzuki Jimny. Done with these stupid over engineered Euro cars. Anxiety just waiting for something else to fail. Great carts when they are actually going.

Yeah you might have to register your battery, or it mighg be you voltage regulator, which is a kinda U shape prong that is in the back of your alternator, which is easy to replace, the part is only $35.00

I have a bmw x5 e70 2012 n55 engine with 119k miles i want to know if is safe to do an transmission fluid change or is too late now i heard that is not good ?
I’m currently doing this job and all of the bolts are breaking off the pan, ion what to do to get them off fully?

Thanks for posting this video. What wound up being the starting issue? Sorry if you’ve already answered the question in previous comments. I’m about to do this same procedure on my 2009 335i xdrive (just turned 100k miles), and I’d like to get a heads up on any unforeseen issue.
It was a coincidence/bad luck that the starter failed the same day as my transmission service. I replaced it in the next video and all was back to normal. Never happened to me before and I've done lots of fluid changes so I don't think it's something to worry about lol. Thanks for watching!
Where Is the flush?
Before you replace the starter check to make sure the ground strap on the left side of the engine. By the engine mount. If it’s green and falling apart the car won’t start. So before you spend the money try that

you failed to set the level properly, you need to get the gear box fluid temp up t0 40c before setting the level
Do the old school trick and tap on the start with something strong don’t wack it but give it a couple of taps than try to start it works all the time
I was always told to never ever replace the transmission fluid, why is it different for bmws? Can't find any solid answers on this one
Different schools of thought. But in my experience, changing the fluid has always been a good idea to maintaining the transmissions ability to shift smoothly, and put down torque. Problem is, a transmission adapts over time to the fluid inside it, so when you refresh the fluid, it may act differently. Usually this is solved by resetting the adaptions. Mixing some of the old and new fluid helps the transmission make the transition, if that makes sense. Using the method I showed in the video, you're leaving a few quarts of fluid in the torque converter which will mix with the new stuff! Thanks for watching and asking questions 🙏
that fault code does not tell you you have a bad starter buddy, you have lots to learn. that codes simple says the engine was attempted to be started ina rapid succession....
I had the same starter issue, on my case it was the positive battery cable terminal under the battery metal base , it was kind of loose, so I removed it, cleaned and placed it again and , PROBLEM SOLVED
I didn't know you could just remove that transmission support. Thought it needed to be supported for some reason 😅
It lets the transmission sag a little, but if your driveshaft is still connected, it won't move very much! Handy for getting access. Thanks for watching!
is there a way to flush the entire system by way of the transmission cooler lines ... ? good video .... good job
Yes, a special tool I believe would let you flush the lines. Some people recommend leaving some of the old fluid in the lines so it can mix with the new stuff, and the transmission won't have to "adapt" as much once the procedure is all said and done. I usually follow this procedure, as it's less messy as well 😁
On the Xdrive model you'll need to take the driveshaft off
Hey, I know this comment is a year late, but would you recommend changing or flushing the transmission fluid and pan on a 2009 E92 with 82,000 miles. I’ve heard yes and no’s. Not trying to screw up the transmission you know, it’s supposedly “lifetime” but BMW says a lot of things like that. I know the transmission has metal shavings that if you remove them it could make the transmission slip, but is it too late at 82,000 miles?
I think the sooner the better, and 82k is the perfect time to service the system because they start to have slipping/shifting issues at 125-150k which can easily be avoided. Thanks for watching and good luck!

Yoooo wtf? I am about to do my mechatronic sleeves this weekend and every video I see people are fighting to get the plug adapter out because that brace is in the way. Can you really just take that off and not have to support the transmission or anything?
Gotta be careful, as it does put some pressure on your driveshaft and torque on the engine mounts. Safest way is to use a jack stand but I always remove the transmission brace to get the most room. Thanks for watching!

Battery for this baby is not cheap, btw our "08 335i starter lasted until we sold the car at 156,000 miles.

How different is the manual tranny service? My 335i e92 is coming due.
Much easier, just a drain and fill on the manual transmission! Those don't use any solenoids or computers, so wear is pretty light.

Did you forget to show the flush portion of this service?
In this service, I only flushed the fluid in the transmission pan. There is some leftover in the torque converter and possibly transmission cooler, but that is actually good to mix in with the new fluid, and help transition the transmission into using the new stuff smoothly. It can act funny when changing all the fluid at once, due to the adaptations being set a certain way. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!

No I didn't, there's not a huge amount of fluid in there and it helps the egs adapt to the new viscosity in my experience. If you want to flush all the ATF out you need some different equipment/tools.
What was the problem
Didn't find a good solution, changing out the seals didn't make a big difference. Next step is trying the transmission flash other people are talking about in the comments, raises pressures. Good luck!

Story of my experience with this N55 I own! Sh*t like this seems so common with this car. Had I known better and took the time to do some research I would have never this model. So many ghosts.. 2011 n55 x-drive👎
Got a 2010/04 N55 (first Gen N55) DCT 335i 4 years ago, had to do an Chargepipe upgrade and my Waterpump broke once. Bought it with 75k miles and now it has 110k miles.
Mine has been babied. Mine just hit 100k and currently doing my HPFP and servicing the injectors with new seals. It deserves credit for sure but seriously I could have done so much more with an n54. Early model n55's have their limits.@@Myloontour

Parts for the service is going to be around $200 I imagine, so 700 sounds a bit expensive depending on the labor rate, and exactly what the service entails. Might be worth checking with another euro shop to see what they would charge!
