The blend door bolt is a 5.5mm. Its a weird size gm loves to use on the hvac components.

Nothing better than testing out the ac after having to contourt yourself in very awkward positions an finding out the reason a 6.5 mm socket exists. Thanks for a good laugh.

Mine is different. I'm blows cool on driver side and ice cold on passenger side. But if I flip the driver to hot it goes to hot so what's that mean
I am having the exact same problem this helped me a lot ;)
My AC & heat works fine but when I turn the heat to...80ish it stops blowing hard then kicks back on 6-7 mins later

Had one go bad in my '98 Regal GS, I just manually set it to cold and left it alone, worked fine since I never need heat in south TX.
Bet you needed heat this year

For the record, the comment I made on pulling a vacuum on the system had nothing to do with the hot/cold issue, it was just stating the fact that you should always pull a vacuum on the system in order to remove any moisture. This increases the lifespan of each component in the system while also providing better overall cooling potential. Will it function without pulling a vacuum? Sure.. you can see this based on your particular circumstance. Is it functioning to its fullest potential? Absolutely not, as there is oxygen mixed in with the refrigerant.
On a side note, because I'm going to be that guy... what you put in the system was not Freon, it was R-134a refrigerant. Freon is a brand name which covered many types of refrigerant that are no longer utilized due to how horrible they were for the environment. R-12, the refrigerant commonly found in older vehicles (pre-1994) was a type of Freon

Brother please help me out. I have the same car with dual climate control. And my problem is I’m getting cold air from the driver side and barely a little heat from the passenger side. It’s getting cold in Alabama and I need heat. I’m looking at the actuator on passenger side in the glove box. I see it moving but the little arm and hinge above the actuator isn’t moving. Do you have any idea what the problem could be
