  • Replacing ac blend door actuator on a 2006 pontiac g6 gt. It was making a ticking noise and blowing cold air on the floor only.

    Thanks for this. Just replaced mine after following your video. It was a pain to reach but worth it to avoid mechanic fees.

    My g6 isn’t clicking but is blowing warm on the drivers side and cold on the passenger side. Do you think fixing this blend door actuator will help? There is no freon leak and the compressor seems ok (i was told). Thank you

    I have a Pontiac g6 3.5l "06. No heat, no knocking, levels good, no overheating, cold air at any time. Suggestions on what needs to be done?

    I unplugged the blend door actuator, the same one you changed in the video and the car is still making the sound. It’s when switching between air intake and recirculate. So how do I get to and replace the recirculation actuator?

  • @ToughShiftGarage
    @ToughShiftGarage 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    So this actuator is under the glove box beneath that black cover and on its back? I get dizzy trying to orient myself to how the car is.

    I'll give this a shot. My A/C drain backed up and something let out the magic smoke. The blower still works fine, but now I can't switch between hot and cold, or floor and chest.

    I couldn't tell if that was remove from the right side of the passenger area, or the left side of the passenger side.
    I know there's two, and replaced the one on left side (by radio) of passenger side and it still does it. Was told it might be the one on far right side.

    • @orio4711
      @orio4711  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The one I replaced is on the right side. It controls the recirculating air. Simple test i did was to turn recirculating on clicking was heard, turned it off clicking went away.

    Was it making the noise with the speed at off/zero? My car does the same noise but the ac/heater speed control is on the off/zero location.
    Thanks in advance for response.

    Did you replace with an manual or automatic door blend actuator

    • @blk95gsrt
      @blk95gsrt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You order the one for the a/c system that you have in your car. If you have an auto ac system use that if you have the manual system you use that. It's actually probably the same motor for both systems though, but you order the one based on the car you have.

    The details matter, you did not replace an "ac blend door". You replaced an ac blend door actuator. Two different things.

      Agreed. He refers to the wrong actuator, and he gives no verbal instructions. He neither shows or indicates what direction he's working. Up or down(?), left or right(?), he doesn't give any clue! It's like we're floating weightless in outer space, or scuba diving in the dark deep. Thanks for the effort, but your tutorial is both uninformative and mis-informative, esse....

    Hello, I am writing this with a language translator.
    I have a problem with my car, the problem is that the air conditioning is only expelled by the heating vent (only in the front part)
    , do you think that if I replace the actuator it will work correctly?
    Thanks for the video, greetings from Mexico

    When you make a video with the intention of helping others diagnose a problem it would be extremely helpful to be able to actually see what you are doing. LET THERE BE LIGHT!!! And a steady camera would be nice too.
