Agreed. *The employee clearly timed his grabbing of the ring/box for the worst possible moment with regard to the couple's special experience.* It required, at least, a basic level of sadism -- robbing the couple at the specific point wherein the woman was just about to touch the ring with emotional elation. Ethically speaking, it was too late to suddenly interrupt the proposal, and the employee could have waited another minute or so to allow the couple to finish such a climactic moment before discreetly escorting them away (if still needed), while fostering their joy -- to enhance the Disney experience & memory, while it's being filmed, no less. Not only did the employee's poor decision reflect badly on Disney, it reveals his *basic lack of reason and compassion.* It's claimed that he had an obligation as trained, but unless Disney is a N@zi regime, why would he act without such basic courtesy for customer experience? If Disney wants to recover the public respect this narcissistic employee sacrificed, they should *hold their employee accountable for such an offensive lapse in judgement.*

Lack of empathy & compassion is much higher now than it was a couple of generations ago. Psychologists conducting a long-term research, now show *narcissism at an all-time high at 70% of greater* according to young adults who were studied circa 1985 who were them compared to young adults studied in 2015. The increase in "narcissistic versus empathetic" personalities had flipped, which also coincides to higher numbers of sociopaths. If they were safely away from "danger" and it was a marriage proposal which was clearly seen before he rushed up and took the ring, THEN just let them be. Even hard core law and order types like me know when to back off otherwise you have oppression only instead of order but compassion TOO..

A SIMILAR INCIDENT HAPPENED AT ELITCH'S IN COLORADO IN 2011.
I have a cousin who is an attorney in Denver.
Elitch Gardens is an amusement park in Denver.
One of their attractions is a 30 story observation tower in the park.
In 2011, a man with his girlfriend was about to propose.
In the past, there had been complaints of people shining laser pointers from the top deck of the tower.
So, when a 17 year-old employee saw the guy hold up the ring box whole kneeling next to the railing, he mistakenly thought it was a laser pointer.
The kid went over and smacked it out of the man's hand.
The ring flew over the railing, and landed somewhere almost 300 feet below!
The kid immediately realized his mistake, and apologized, but it wasn't enough.
Management and several employees were notified of the incident, and searched for the ring, but it was never found.
Whoever found it (a park guest?) kept it.
In the park office, a manager deeply apologized, offered the couple $2000 plus season admission passes, but the offer was refused.
The man showed the manager the receipt from the jeweler (Shane Co.) for the ring. It was $16,000.
Management refused to pay the full amount, then would not give him their insurance info.
So, the man contacted my cousin, and filed a lawsuit against Elitch's.
Elitch's refused to settle for $16,000 out of court, so the case went to a jury trial.
Ultimately, a judgement was made against Elitch's. On top of the $16k, they sued for emotional distress, and suffering, professional psychology treatment for $47,000.
Elitch's was ordered to pay the guy $63,000!
Oh, and I played a role in this case! I moonlight as a Process Server.
My cousin hired me to hand deliver the court summons and other papers to Elitch's office.
I walked in, went to the Receptionist, and asked to see the manager. (I can't give his name here). He'd wasn't available, so I handed her the papers, said "Ok, this is an Order to Appear for Mr. ______ . You need to endure he gets this".
I slapped the stack on her desk, turned, and walked out.

Walt Disney, the man himself, would be distraught at this. I’d fire this guy, then his manager, then his manager and keep going till I reached the top and make damn sure everyone in the entire company knew about it.

UNFORTUNATELY, THE LITTLE S#!+ WAS MOST CERTAINLY NOT FIRED!
In America, yes, he'd be on his a$$ within 15 minutes. But France has very strict employee protection laws!
Had he been fired, he could go to the government, file a complaint, and appeal his dismissal.
Disney would have to go to a tribunal, and likely be forced to rehire him.
Plus, all through the 30+ day process, Disney would be required to continue paying him.

I still don't get the problem of why he couldn't do it where he was. Yes it's a stage for Disney characters to go on stage and make a big performance on. But it's not like a performance was happening at that exact moment or was about to. And even if they were about to perform there's no say that they would've or wouldn't of gotten off.
