Ya know, Barry S offensive line were all redshirt seniors when he exploded. They were not All -Americans but they played well together and created the crease he needed. I think these guys could do the same thing. Agree the need to score more, They have the weapons to do it for sure.
I know guys have been on dunn. First i dnt think our talent is that great. We have had a lot of injuries. 2022 First 7 games 35 per game. The teams didnt get better actually worse. Injuries do matter.
Long time Pokes fan here…like you said, got to prove it. Base on last 3 seasons, OL is better but definitely NOT #1. All returning average or a little above average will not make the unit a #1 rank in the nation.
Stuff is aligning where they can rise to the next level, but we also should have reasonable expectations about a unit that has historically been far from number 1.
Look I've been on red zone td. But only texas was better in wins. That tells me these other teams put up alot of td against bad teams. Look at ksu. They beat nobody except ku with 3rd qb. They beat the crap out of the ones thing one.
All I'm saying is if we have the best OL in the country as some would claim, we would be able to get into the end zone a lot more. (Wouldn't any OSU fan want that?) Then we could blow out teams instead of winning close one-possession Cardiac Cowboy games, and then win other games we should win. Stay status quo and we're 9-3 ranked #22 in the nation - not good enough for the playoffs. If you want to compare against Big 12 teams only, that's fine, but no other Big 12 teams other than Texas and OU would have sniffed the CFP last year. Measure against the best because that should be the goal.

We need more Ws or we won't be a playoff contender. Wouldn't you agree that 29.6 ppg on O and 28.5 ppg on D isn't playoff caliber?
