@@PhillyFilmRoom thanks yeah I don’t think we had the running backs to be successful running the ball. With the news that Greg Roman is being hired as OC is a bit a of a buzz kill, as his offenses aren’t exactly very good from a drop back passing perspective. Especially when you have a QB like Herbert, leave me wondering just what this offense is going to look like. I feel like we downgraded as OC even if the success didn’t happen last year from a wins and losses standpoint with Kellen Moore as OC.
@@ReggieT sure did, it was Kellen Moore first year with the Charger in this new system so didn’t expect things to be perfect. If you look at Kellen’s track record passing and running the ball in Dallas both of those areas of the offense were top 10 statistically in those years with Dallas where as Roman trac record is a great run game designer I’ll give him that, but we sacrifice the passing game a lot which is what Herbert does best. Are you really arguing Roman is a better OC than Moore? I would think most would agree that Moore is a top OC as it just came out a few weeks ago he was voted one of the top OC in the league and would have done a lot better with another year in the system with familiarity from Herbert building on it.

I've been a head coach for high school football for over 20 years. When you watch the game from a coaches standpoint you look at it differently. You see where the mistakes are made, such as 2 receivers in the same area, bad routes and on defense the coverage not being where it should such as lbs not covering flats leaving rbs wide open. Getting confused with simple assignments as to the coverage with the 1,2,3 receivers. Sirianni ran a high school offense. Mine has more pre snap motion and shifts which tells you what the defense is trying to do coverage wise... With all that being said you can Google different playbooks. Look up plays for high school offense and college. All teams have different terminology and route trees but you can get the basics of x, y, z receivers that's basically the same with going from left to right with the left end being x,. I use f and h for the backs. And defense wise you can see different gap assignments for whatever the defense is. I use a quarters defense. Which basically the field is broken down to 4 quarters which dictates the coverage. You use 2 safeties and 2 corners the lbs have flat responsibility and anything straight up to 12 yards. The Eagles had problems running this because Morrow made mistakes in determining the number 3 receiver which was his responsibility. Barkley scored on a Morrow mistake where Morrow covered the 2 receiver to the flat instead of Barkley who was the 3 where he just went to the zone that Morrow vacated, pass caught, Barkley scored. All Morrow had to do was drop straight back. Simple breakdowns like that killed the Eagles and that's why you would see wide open receivers.. If you look up what I told you too will allow you to watch the game in this manner
Glad to have you on board! The books that I have read usually have more to do with the leadership/development side and not necessarily the Xs and Os. There's a lot of great information all around the internet that will help teach you the game from the coaching perspective. If you're willing to spend money on books, you might want to check out something like Coaches Insider, Glazier Clinics or Coachtube. On TH-cam there's a lot of great, free information too. There's clinics of Nick Saban speaking from the 90s that is still very much relevant today and a good place to start.

I’m wondering if KM has ever had an offense with this many weapons. AJ, Devonte, JH, Goedert, maybe Swift along with a good O-line. I’m super excited about next year. Go 🦅!!
Probably the closest is 2021 with Cooper, CeeDee and Dalton Schultz and a younger Zeke and Pollard. But CeeDee was a rookie, Tyron Smith was in and out of the lineup and I'm pretty sure Cooper was dealing with nagging injury issues for most of the year (don't quote me on that). 2024 should be a fun year for the offense. Go birds!
The great thing is this WR draft class is absolutely loaded from top to bottom. With the current depth they have, it's pretty much a lock they're going to draft someone.
Jalen needs to live in the complex learning this offense & working with his throwing coach. All of these nuances sound great in theory, but can the QB execute? I believe he’s capable but the game doesn’t come natural to him. I believe his other coaches used the KISS method to try and not overwhelm him. Now it’s time for him to up his game.
Yeah there's definitely some things Jalen needs to get more consistent with. There's times he makes great reads and throws while playing with good pocket presence, but a lot of times where he's quick to scramble if the first read isn't there. I will say, from the outside looking in, Moore gives his QB more layups and easy throw opportunities though.
Nick never implemented any of this into his own offence because he's a fraud.Happy that a Boise State Legend who's actually accomplished something in his life as a QB is taking over scheming from the "offensive minded" clown we hired as a HC
Julio will be gone but this WR draft class is loaded. The Eagles can't miss out on grabbing someone this year, and almost guarantee they will based on their current depth and contracts to A.J. and DeVonta
Stayley, the Charger's defensive Defensive HC, was fired as was GM Telesco before season ended. Kellen stayed on until Jim Harbaugh was hired as HC. After some time, Kellen left. Kellen has great upside and I wish that he had been retained.
His run scheme is not ideal for Saquon to stay healthy, I know running back is a risky position, but KM expects his back to gain “tough” yards a lot and I don’t like that for SB.
I'll be interested to see how it plays out. Peyton Manning has said countless times he hated motion because it messed up the presnap picture. New era though, hopefully it helps Jalen.
These NFL offenses are so complex and involved that I have absolutely no idea how the offensive players remember all this crap. I mean we're not dealing with rocket scientists here. Lots of these players on the O side of the ball are just dumb as stumps.
He should when you see how Dak has evolved over the years. Plus the fact that he gives his QB more easy reads and schemes open his weapons better. Jalen has made great plays from the pocket, he just needs to be a more consistent, hopefully another year of development and better designs helps him achieve that.
Alls I know is Kellen Moore can’t do much worse than the plays we were calling from the Mt.Union University playbook last year smh let the man get in the building first before you start to hate him. Dude don’t even know the address to NovaCare yet and people already writing him off lol
Also had Cowboys ranked as the #1 scoring offense in 2021 with 90% of Dallas offensive players being equally or less talented than the Eagles offensive players. Moore about to unlock AJ, Smitty, and Goedert talents.
I mean...#1 offense during the 3 years Dak was healthy. They still used Moores concepts after he left (don't overlook this past season the Cowboys played the easiest schedule of defenses among any team since 2021 & their run game & red zone offense got worse). The Chargers offense missed 30 games among their skills players, 2nd most in the league not including Herbert missing games. They played the 2nd easiest schedule of defenses in 2022, played 2nd hardest in 2023. Still, Chargers offensive DVOA improved from 2022 to 2023. And then 31 year old Keenan Allen was able to put up 2nd most yards of his career in his offense. And on top of that the Chargers blocked Moore from interviewing with other teams until after they hired Jim Harbaugh (offensive coach). If you think Moore sucks, make a video about it and show your case. If not, thanks for helping the algorithm.
I imagine refocusing on his pocket presence and getting through his progressions quicker will be a focus for him this offseason. Still, Moore's offenses appear to give the QB more easy layups which is what they didn't have much of last season.
@@PhillyFilmRoom my 16 year old son said that too. He’s offensively minded while I’m defensively minded. Moore’s offense does seem to create open receivers so hopefully Hurts can really excel.
No he wont !! Howie controles it all!! Its his offense that Moore will run, it will be more of the same. It will be Howie Defense that Fangio will run, more of the same, with TRASH CAN Linebackers and Secondary !!
STOP IT! 🛑 Moore didn't do a thing for Chargers. This is how you know he's cooked. The league has figured him out. Just like they did Jason Garrett. LMAO You Philthadelphia fans crack me up. Always think you got next best thing since sliced bread! You got a bum coach. He doesn't last two years in that dirty city!
Stop it he is not a good offensive of coordinator Dallas offensive was better without him this year and this who eagles pick up eagles head coach should have been fired we and will be after this year terrible decision he makes gone ruin a good team
Were they actually better though? The Cowboys offense was good in 2023 no doubt. But let's look at the context. The Cowboys faced the easiest schedule of defenses in the NFL in 2023, in fact the easiest since 2021 when looking expected points allowed by opposing defenses. Still, they were worse in a number of areas such as rushing yards per attempt and red zone efficiency. This is on top of them trying to run up the score during blowouts. Which is even funnier considering McCarthy fired Moore for not running the ball enough and trying to "light up the score board." The Cowboys total rush attempts and run/pass ratio dropped significantly in 2023. Despite having plenty of opportunity to run the ball due to all the blowouts against an easy schedule. Also, they were still using a lot of Moore's designs and concepts. Keep in mind, Dak missed 5 games in 2022. When he returned from injury, the Cowboys averaged more points and yards per game than they did in all of 2023, despite playing a much harder schedule (13th hardest in 2022). Moore's offenses were 2nd in points AND yards per game during his time in Dallas from 2019-2022. They were really 1st if you only count 2019, 2021 and 2022 and exclude the 2020 season where Dak was out for the year after the fifth game. To say he's not a good coordinator is asinine. Bad coordinators don't put up offenses that are first in points and yards over a multi year span.
Kellen is going to have to switch up for Hurts incompetence. Hurts won’t be able to run plays that involve reading defenses or progressing through reads
Hurts is going to be better like in 2022. Many times Wrs wasn't getting open because of playcalling. Hurts had to carry the offense with two idiot like Sirianni and Brian Johnson not helping at all. Not attacking the middle was a crime all year. Not running the ball was even worse.
Did you know the Chargers blocked him from interviewing with other teams until Harbaugh (an offensive coach) was signed? That's why he was let go. Bottom line is, the Cowboys were 2nd in points and yards during Moore's 4 seasons in Dallas, 1st if you look at the 2019, 2021 and 2022 seasons when Dak played the majority of those years.
@@PhillyFilmRoom KM was a terrible QB in the NFL .... Never a starter and when Romo went down due a dirty hit by the Seahawks LB .... Guess what... KM was 'hurt' too .... That's why Dakota got his chance... Then Dakota beat him for the starting QB position.... Points mean nothing if you don't win championships.... Whenever it matter KM was always out coached by the opposing Def. Coordinator
@@someutubchannel69 What does Kellen Moore's playing career have to do with coaching? Both coaches in this year's Super Bowl hardly even played in college. Anyway, Shanahan has yet to win a championship, is he a bad coach? Andy Reid didn't win a championship until he was in his 60s. Are you saying he was bad the entire time before that? Very few coaches ever win a championship, doesn't mean that the only good coaches are the handufl of ones that won a championship. Kellen Moore has been an OC for five seasons and is still just 35. What are the realistic odds that any OC wins a championship in their first five seasons.
Rip Eagles production. Charger fans watched for a full season how Moore took one of the biggest arms in the league and reduced it to a check down Charlie. Good riddance.
Check down Charlie? He had a significantly higher average throw depth in 2023 vs 2022. Ekeler's targets per game took a significant drop as well. Also, who was he supposed to push the ball down field to? The Chargers lack an explosive element to their offense, especially with Mike Williams and Palmer out for much of the year.
@Jnunya. Sounds like you would have been a spectacular QB throwing air balls to no WRs (injured) , catching them yourself and running them in for TDs! Prime-time QB!
Thanks for the 🔥 video. Definitely a welcomed improvement in that area. I am also curious about his rushing attack and tendencies against the blitz. I will have to look at your article to see if mentioned.

There's times he makes great reads and throws while playing with good pocket presence, but a lot of times where he's quick to scramble if the first read isn't there. I will say, from the outside looking in, Moore gives his QB more layups and easy throw opportunities though.
Just pls no screens😢
Nick never implemented any of this into his own offence because he's a fraud.Happy that a Boise State Legend who's actually accomplished something in his life as a QB is taking over scheming from the "offensive minded" clown we hired as a HC
The stealing he did do from the rams mesh concepts like fire he didn’t continually implement even though they were working…pride and arrogance 🤦🏾♂️
Where was this in Brazil eagles pass game was non-existent
I hope so
Philly about to tear teams apart not that Nick is not calling plays. Go birds 40 a game
How will teams handle the Batman’s and geodert let alone a a potential running and Julio at that. I’m excited for this offense
Julio might be gone.
Julio will be gone but this WR draft class is loaded. The Eagles can't miss out on grabbing someone this year, and almost guarantee they will based on their current depth and contracts to A.J. and DeVonta
Good vid
Tf? Didnt he just join chargers last year? What did i miss lmao
Stayley, the Charger's defensive Defensive HC, was fired as was GM Telesco before season ended. Kellen stayed on until Jim Harbaugh was hired as HC. After some time, Kellen left. Kellen has great upside and I wish that he had been retained.
Well… this didn’t age well.
Don't show his offenses from wins when they scored a lot of points. Breakdown his offenses when they struggle.
His run scheme is not ideal for Saquon to stay healthy, I know running back is a risky position, but KM expects his back to gain “tough” yards a lot and I don’t like that for SB.
Motion will confuse Hurts more than the defense
I'll be interested to see how it plays out. Peyton Manning has said countless times he hated motion because it messed up the presnap picture. New era though, hopefully it helps Jalen.
Sirianni needs to be a stranger in the offensive rooms
Eagles need a better qb
As a Cowboys fan, I’m very happy he’s your OC. He’s not good😭
Man what an insightful comment??? Clown 🤡😂🤡.. we ain't worried about Dak pickscot
They’re gonna have to run the ball
These NFL offenses are so complex and involved that I have absolutely no idea how the offensive players remember all this crap. I mean we're not dealing with rocket scientists here. Lots of these players on the O side of the ball are just dumb as stumps.
You know Kellen asked Kelce to retire so he could but Swift at center.
Is he going to help Hurts get better as a passer in the pocket?
He should when you see how Dak has evolved over the years. Plus the fact that he gives his QB more easy reads and schemes open his weapons better. Jalen has made great plays from the pocket, he just needs to be a more consistent, hopefully another year of development and better designs helps him achieve that.
💯
SUPERBOWL in 2025
Are we going to run the damn ball
Check out the article!
Stop it did he make the game easier for Dak or chargers quarterback yall need to stop it the things u people say or want
Yea your not to bright bro
But it Hurts intelligent enough to run this offense. I certainly hope so.
Yeahhhh BIRDGANG
No Kellen Moore is an idiot. After his piss poor play calling against the falcons he needs to go
How he came from cowgirls how he with use let nick go
Hour long video…NOW!
Lol it's a long offseason! We'll need some stuff to watch during the post draft down time.
No he wont !! Howie controles it all!! Its his offense that Moore will run, it will be more of the same. It will be Howie Defense that Fangio will run, more of the same, with TRASH CAN Linebackers and Secondary !!
The
Have watched any eagles game this past season 🤦🏼♂️
Hurts is going to be better like in 2022. Many times Wrs wasn't getting open because of playcalling. Hurts had to carry the offense with two idiot like Sirianni and Brian Johnson not helping at all. Not attacking the middle was a crime all year. Not running the ball was even worse.
If KM was a good OC... He would be a HC now instead of being let go from the Chargers.... 😂😂😂😂
The Eagles will be Worse!!
Good!!!
@@PhillyFilmRoom
KM was a terrible QB in the NFL ....
Read the article, very good! Answered most of my questions and more.
There will be more to come to!
I hate the Cowboys offense. Sirrianis offense is better.
