Can we please get this Klatt University/Pate State collab more often! Every Sunday during the season would be absolutely epic!!! This was awesome, the knowledge and depth is immense!!
This was the greatest way to start week 1. Two national media members who are 1 and 2. No outrageous takes for clicks, just talkin ball. Hopefully pate has Joel on his show, or this becomes a monthly thing. This rocks
Troy, when you said "back to the dorm", I was immediately envious of you. Enjoy and make every day matter to you. It is the best, easiest and most enjoyable time in your entire life. It's impossible for you to understand this until you have graduated and worked for a few years but just trust people who have. You are in heaven on earth right now. Best of luck to you.
Hands down the two best analysts of the sport. Thoughtfulness. No fluff. No cliches. No tropes. No parroting. Refreshing compared to the big brand sports talk shows.
This has to be a monthly thing, at the end of the month you guys alternate who’s comes on each others pod and just talk about the month of college football. I’d literally pay for this.
Great. Freaking. Show. What are you guys doing?! Yes. Yes, every week or at least once a month you 2 should be chatting it up. Loved this. I will watch it twice! Love you guys.
Fox and CBS should make this happen weekly, I think you two could push past the million mark in subs. You both cover different parts of the college football landscape and from what I have seen here today, have great chemistry.
This needs to be a weekly show with these two!! I suggest they do a weekly wrap up show analyzing the results of the weekend and the release of the weekly ranking. I do like watching each of the individual shows of Joel and Josh but this Duo Show is the best college football content I've found. Please make it happen.
Honestly, you both should do this more. Excellent conversation and you both play off each other so well. You have similar trains of thought but still very unique insights. You two already have the best college football shows but together you have something legendary
The thoughtful commentary, the no nonsense takes, the back and forth how one answer brought out more questions, man this was really a great way to start the season! Thank you!
I absolutely love watching Joel. I love the perspective. I love the way the content is delivered and after every video, I’m wanting more can’t wait for Wednesdays show.
@JoelKlattShow & @JoshPateCFB: The two best in the business! This has been a great discussion. I hope you both collaborate more often, and it would be great if you both had a bigger role in policy making and decision making for CFB.
WOW. My two of three favorites. These guys rock and rule the college football platform. Im grateful to have listened to this. Thank you. A future combined venture..?
This new version of NFL Lite called college football has left a significant fan base group out - the alumni. Alumni have been the backbone of collegiate donor funding, not just to athletic programs, but to their alma maters in general. This connection between alumni and alma mater was grounded in tradition and connection to long rivalries. With TV revenues now as the prime force shaping college football and not regionality, traditions, or rivalries, what then is the difference between the mercenary NFL and collegiate football? It remains to be seen if additional TV revenues will offset the additional operating costs due to expanded conferences and the loss of alumni donations caused by this break in meaning to a large, wealthy consumer base colleges have counted on for centuries.
That's Incorrect if you want to WIN you need a strong ALUMNI base of donations, the best players cost money ie, high school recruits and transfer players. SO if you want Alumni influence then you better breakout your checkbook!
@@esuswalk2006 You are telling me what you want not, what the alumni want. They only pony up bucks when their needs are veing satisfied. Has any conference done any marketing research on what alumni feel about all this re-alignment? If so, they have not have not published it, which tells me it is a bad outcome.
This is what sports shows should be like. It's not hot take central. We did not have to hear only about 4 or 5 teams. They weren't afraid to see things differently, but recognize that both perspectives can be valid and informative. ESPN, please take note. Or don't and we will still have this awesome level of college football discourse not tarnished by companies like Disney who couldn't care less about the sport, but feel the need to control the narrative.
For a long time I thought Klatt was very bias against the SEC but ive been watching him for several months now and I don't believe that anymore he's actually one of the most level headed analyst in the business and I am now subscribed outstanding show
I know it won't matter if the Buckeyes win the natty, but how deliciously ironic is it that OSU is following the "Michigan model", sans Senor Stallions. I know Michigan doesn't own that model, but it's still chronologically hysterical. I love it.
💯 it's so not fair. I am a lifetime CU buffs fan. That Florida schedule and Oklahoma schedule are brutal. If either of them make it out with 4 losses it's a great season. While Nebraska could lose to Ohio st., and still be in the big 10 championship with 1 loss because there 3 hardest games are usc, colo , Oh st.
Well let me put that to bed right now we are definitely losing more than two games this year, in fact, I'm more than confident you're going to beat us in week 2 just because winning makes us nauseous. I will say however, the other side of a nine-game conference schedule is the possibility that you get one more difficult game added to your schedule instead of one more easy conference opponent@@highbrixgardens9491
There needs to be more consistency with scheduling. I think I’d rather see 8 conference games across the board with certain standards on those other 4 games. Maybe two P4 games and two whatever you want games.
@@P51DFreak25 let me lay out a cool schedule: 13 game schedule (9 conference + 4 non conference) no bowls, playoff for P4 + #1 G5 school in 12-16 team playoff and then the rest of the top 12-16 G5 have their own playoff
There is nothing like talking College Football. NFL and all Pro sports are settled on the field %100, you have the record that gets you in the playoff and you work your way through the playoffs to a Championship. College Football has so many teams and so many variables that a great season/record can leave you out of the post season, and a average schedule with a good record can get you into the post season. It makes talking about match-ups and possibilities so fun. In the NFL you can talk all you want about who would beat who, but it just always gets settled on the field, nothing like FSU getting left out last or even Georgia who probably would've been able to win the whole thing getting left out with 1 loss too. Just endless possibilities to talk about.
@@alexesteve8769 yes, I would. The improvements on the DL and the solidification of the secondary is a game changer for what was a bad defense. Teams are going to get sacked and picked off a lot. Changes in coordinators is also huge. The OL is the key, and the talent has doubled, but they must show up right away. CU will be 4-0 to start the year and wants to make statements.
@@ff18Buffs the talent can double from last and still not compare to the rest of the teams in the league. Maybe their starters are better than last year, but their depth is just as thin. The lines of scrimmage are better on average than in the big12 of this year than the lines Colorado faced last year. The O-line was leaky last year but Shedeur held on to the ball way longer than he needed to. One of the big improvements of the O-line, that you mentioned, this year is an incoming 5 star freshman who will have to start day 1. How well will he do against players 4 years within a system nearly every week? With how thin the depth is and the quality that's on the schedule, be happy to make a bowl game. 8 games would be amazing but that will likely not happen for Colorado for the foreseeable future.
@@alexesteve8769 COLORADO's roster is better than pretty much everyone in the Big12, period. I agree that a paper roster vs an experienced together roster is different, but one thing that helped was getting the Transfers in January vs later in the previous year. Seaton has some big expectations he has to meet and the OL was struggling a bit in camp because the Colorado DL is in my opinion the BEST in the Big12, but they have figured it out and iron sharpened iron, so pretty happy with that. We have depth at every position right now as much as any typical NFL team would for a 53 man roster. Do folks want Colorado to succeed or fail? The Buffs are rejoin the Big12.
