Have been twice for about a month each and used Wilderness both times. Love New Zealand and all it has to offer. Don't go on vacation...........go on a journey!!!!! :) I would agree that having WiFi in the camper was awesome. The second trip, I had my tablet up on the dash with google maps up and it really did change the game. It saved a lot of time and actually cut way, way down on the stress level. ......which wasn't that high anyway, but it did make a very positive impact on that 2nd trip.
That's a nice little rig. But I can only imagine the new found appreciation you'll have for Grand Ginger when you guys are home. I bet Trish hugs Gingers island. Lol.
Have always had a good french press for camping/rv. We currently have a double wall stainless steel french press that won't break like glass which is amazing. And can make with hot water from stove, campfire, any heat source, etc. Pair with a good manual or usb/rechargeable grinder. Can set next to campfire without plastic melting.
It's all very much like our campsites here in the UK. The random chats while emptying the toilet, washing dishes or walking to the showers in your pjs first thing in the morning lol. We have a 7 meter long caravan for our family of 5 and our dog, it takes some playing about to get storage how you want it but so worth it.
Hey Marc, when you talked about needing to see the navigation from your iPhone for you and Trish; I think your F250 has CarPlay and if so, you can get google or apple maps on your screen in the truck.
YES YES YES!!! This is the video that I have been wishing for! I absolutely love this MotorCoach! Mark, you and Beautiful Trish, did a great job demonstrating the coach and best way to organize it for the most practical use. We are having the Tiffin Wayfarer built at this time. It’s the 24TW and we have two teenagers also. This gave me a new perspective on giving the boys the back bedroom with the twin beds. My husband and I of course get up earlier so, Now I decided we will take the overhead bunk! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and adventures with us! I’m one of your biggest fans. I certainly hope you guys are far away from the violence that I’ve been following on the news. I just look forward for your videos on Sunday Nights! I would just love to meet you guys someday!
We got a great laugh when the touring Americans discovered the never seen before inventions of clothes pegs (Kiwis might call them clothes pins) and the rotary clothes line. What was it you said Trish, "amazing, what a great idea" or something similar. If you ever need to borrow any clothes pegs most Australin homes would have many spares, hey, we even have special containers to hold them for you. One could not have scripted such a great moment, we love you, keep them coming. Downunda - Class C owner Melbourne Australia
pour water on coffee, place lid on, leave for a few mins, then press down. the coffee should be easier to depress . hope that helps and thanks for your adventures!
Love the French press, however, when camping it is a bit of a pain to clean so we have moved over to the pour over method with disposable filters. The grind is also the same as used in a French press. Coffee is great and cleanup easier. Also, really enjoyed the walk through. I am now rethinking how we have organized everything in our super c.
It's great that you were all able to adapt so well to the smaller space of this RV versus Ginger. But I'm guessing that after being in this RV for a while that Ginger will seem like a palace compared to it. It's interesting to see how well this RV is designed, with them making very good use of all of the space it has. I really like the skylight/vent that seems really nice. Thanks for the tour, I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you for bringing us along. For those on the cusp to travel Don't wait. Mom told up - the things I put off to do later, I can not do now because of age and health. Thank you for those who can not travel any more and to inspire those to not wait. Safe travels. :-)) :-))
Im a single mom who stays in the house and i take care of my father who is 87...We don't own an RV or anything but we do live in a very small apartment..lol I watch you guys and get such great ideas about small spaces...Love you guys so much..Safe travels...Much love from Knoxville Tn.
The more amazing part of the motorhome you're staying in is that if you was going to buy it they aren't that expensive, in the UK that motorhome costs abut £50k ($65k) and nothing in the US class C market even comes close to the build quality or finishes in that price range.
I love the idea of the community kitchens, it is such a great way to meet other travelers and get tips that you may not otherwise get. Line drying is awesome, it takes you back to a simplistic life, off the grid. Thanks for the tip on the Turkish towels.
ABQdoubleG Don’t hesitate on the Turkish towels. I switched my family over to those many years ago with not one regret .... they are super soft, very absorbent, they roll up easily when traveling, they take just a few minutes to dry via a drier and they also line dry beautifully, and sand doesn’t seem to cling in the fabric. So, when I ordered the towels I used several different vendors thru Amazon because I wanted to make sure I was getting excellent quality. I was a bit concerned with the tassels on the towels unraveling in the wash ... so I tried several different style variations. Happily none of the tassels have unraveled or become tangled. If you decide to get some just be sure to make note of the size as they tend to run a bit smaller than usual towels; I ordered the largest ones I could find “Jumbo”. Anyway - just my thoughts. Have a terrific day!
Wait, you look vaguely familiar. Oh yeah, you're about 50 yards away from me as this video was released! Great meeting you and seeing how real life folks you are. I gotta go check out Kaleb's channel. Oh yeah, another good video even though I'm not going to make it to New Zealand . Great youtube class by the way ;)
It is great to be with you thru another great video. This video was packed full of great useful info. I look forward to Sunday evening because I get to spend this time with my special friends. Thank you so much for everything you do. Paul
Our last two travel trailers had/have that feature. Push automatic button and connected toshore, it's on electric. Unplug, switches immediately to propane.
Do you have to re adjust the settings on ur fridge? Our fridge has 2 different dials 1 controls the temp when on shore power and 1 controls temp when on propane
Trish, how many times have you been told you look like Reese Witherspoon? Because like...the resemblance is CRAZY! No way I'm the only one to think this! Y'all are so fun to watch, btw! 😊😊😊
Marc I can't believe you haven't been putting your phone on the dash to look at until now. Ya'll are great. Waking ours from it's winter slumber and headed out next week. Added our KYD stickers to the camper! Let the season begin.
I have a f350 and love the on board nav. especially after changing the program so you can operate the navigation as you roll along. It also pops up on my dash so I can see the turns coming up. Love your trip!
Fabulous video as always. Very informative. We presently have a Class C and I can honestly say I think that as small as the kitchen is in the Peak 4, it might just have more storage than we have in ours. And I agree about the lighter wood tones in the RV. When we bought our's, we were able to find a lighter colored decor, but truthfully I'd love for it to be even lighter wood tones. We've got great windows in our rig, but that window over the kitchen space would be great to have. Our kitchen window is so tiny, and even when I open up the blinds it really doesn't give me much of anything to work with. Great tip from Trish on having the trash can and a recycle bag near your work space for immediate sorting. And Marc, might just do the same for us when it comes to navigation. My husband is our navigator, but sometimes he squirrels and we end up missing our turn/off ramp. Y'all be careful, and safe travels.
Great tour of the RV and great tips! It looks like a nice rig and I love how you made it work for your family. Yes, teens like to sleep! My youngest son can still sleep, has since he was a baby and he is 23 now. I love too how this rig works for more than two people. The size isn't huge, but it is well thought out and with your tips and tricks, it makes it very doable. I can imagine it is even better for a couple. Beautiful scenery and I'm so glad I got to see your video's as I will never make it to these wonderful places.
You guys did a great job showing how to do it - easy . You made it fun, leisurely and organized. I can see a lot of people from US and other northern hemisphere countries spending some of their winter going to NZ for a month of RV travel in the NZ summer. Well done KYD
My girlfriend and I are planning on traveling the country this year, we are from Oklahoma, and we recently just started watching your videos. We are inspired by you guys, and hope to meet you guys one day!
PSA: when the plunger won't go down on those, good idea to remove the lid, then put it back on - in my experience, it's an air bubble of some kind, and if you push hard enough when meeting resistance like that, scalding hot water & grounds explode out of the french press giving you 2nd degree burns on vital parts of your upper anatomy, leaving you with weeks of agony, dressing changes and scars.
Community kitchen!!! Wow! This trip and rig look SO FAB - you guys make it look so doable and I don't think a lot of us have ever considered it! Definitely on the list!!! XO, Kelly
You kinda seem surprised how spacious this “little” rig is compared to your own travel trailer and how well thought the interior is designed e.g. the cover on the kitchen sink and the cooking area or stove and the storage underneath as well the bed arrangement and how powerful the diesel engine is. In Europe most camping sites also have these “community” kitchen to either cook/make food or do dishes for people traveling on motorcycles or doing camping in tents. And they also have showers and toilets. I think most people even though they have cassette toilets and showers most people use the amenities like shower and toilet so they don’t have use toilet and shower in the rig and also empty the toilet and fill up water. It seems funny to me how North American camp sites don’t have these amenities like community kitchens. I also think cassette toilet is the “normal” in caravans or travel trailers or rv’s outside North America. Other than the downside of the capacity of a cassette toilet I think it is less gross than emptying a black tank and it seems way faster and more hygienic. Maybe I wrong? You also mentioned the sorting of garbage or rubbish. In Denmark most places and cities you have to sort your garbage in metal, cardboard, plastic, biodegradable such as food, and electronic (things such as consumer electronics) and materials you can’t place in one of the above mentioned categories. How do you sort things in the States? I guess it’s up the individual state, county, municipality and city. The rubbing aorting we saw was that at the camp site or do you do that all over NZ? I thought you had built in GPS or SatNav in the F250? As always great video
Marc and Trish, for some reason, this video went by FAST for me! Very interesting seeing how you adapted to the small motorhome compared to your 5W. This has been an exciting series; so pleased you took us with you. Y'all Be Safe!
Great video guys, we have very much enjoyed your NZ trip and look forward to seeing what happens next. Just got home to Seattle from picking up our 5th wheel from Tucson, AZ. The experience was sooo much better by watching how you two operate. We have been inspired by your video making abilities and have started our own TH-cam channel.. more to come.. lol. Keep up the hard work. Thousands are enjoying it every week.
Yes, here in the States you most definitely don't want to make coffee with a "plunger" :-) The most interesting tidbit that I took away from the video was your description of the philosophical and cultural differences based on the country's acceptance and appreciation of the RV lifestyle. It seems to be almost the opposite here in the US with cities in Florida that forbid ANY RV parking whatsoever as an example ! One important aspect you didn't mention was WiFi availability and speeds (not including your mobile hotspot).
You should have apple CarPlay and android auto in a 17 or newer ford with the large screen. Just plug your phone in through usb and it basically mirrors your phone screen. Most navigation apps work just like on the phone.
Wonderful. You four have convinced Marsha and me to plan on a New Zealand trip within the next few years and Wilderness will be our choice to rent from. As always, thank you so very much. Greg & Marsha Locke
I hope you bring your new recycling habits home with you too! Can’t wait to see your update video on the Grand Design axle problem that causing your severe tire damage.
For us, having a 7" android radio in the center dash, connected to a Verizon prepaid hotspot, gives us both the ability to see the route on Waze or on Google Maps. Has worked really well for us in southern AZ, NM and most of TX.
Hey Marc & Trish So we have booked a 28 day trip to New Zealand in an RV with a rental company owned by the parents of one of our customers, (Travel New Zealand RV rental) supply you with almost everything but after watching this video we now know that we will have to take a lot more things with us then first anticipated. Anyways thanks for such a cool and informative video. Oh and love your new big rig.
Saw your video liked it so making a statement. I am not a RV traveller, but your vlog because of the interesting places you visit, know the culture, the beautiful scenarios etc. I just wanted to say it was a lovely video, well coordinated, precise, with pros and cons clearly said and I know a lot of RV travellers will get help by watching this video. Love to all of you.
Great video, I use to travel to NZ and Australia for work, I took 4 plug strip (US), so I used one adapter to plug it into, then plugged all my equipment into, worked well. Love the AU power system.
Marc and Trish I just saw where Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, where many astronauts were educated now offers a 3 year flight degree. I thought Carson might be interested since he went to Culver last summer.
Good day all: We were wondering is there any difference in the construction of the basic R V verses ones built in the U.S ?. The finishes look better than what is offered to us.thankx.
The camper looks like the FICA campers in US. So from the conversation at the end it seems that NZ camping is like what the USA was in the 50-60's maybe early 70's.
Not reading through all the comments to see if someone already addressed this, but....I have the same generation SuperDuty (an F350) and unless you went super cheap (which I don't thing you did) you have the Sync 3 system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Just plug your phone in and you have Google Maps on the big center stack screen. I use mine all the time, even for just a quick run down to the grocery store.
Yes, I just found out that the new iOS 12 update allows Google Maps to work through Apple play. Yet, I still dont' like the radio turning off/on as maps connects. We're still testing it.
@@KeepYourDaydream Not sure about that issue, but I use Android. The radio does get quieter when Maps gives direction info, but the radio doesn't turn off. Anyway, thanks for all the great videos. I've been following since Season 1 and will be joining the KYD Insiders soon.
I think you are ready for a Motorhome! Very different having everyone in your truck vs. having them in the RV traveling. I give you 6 months! 😉 Great trip, thank you for taking us with you! GOD Bless.
Trish, my guess is you're missing "Grand Ginger Island"? I wish we had an island at times, we have very limited kitchen counter space...but we make do with what we have no matter what that is, right? 🤓😊
newbie question on the fridge. how to power the frige while traveling ? run off propane only when the temperature in the fridge gets high vs run it on propane always while traveling and back on power when available or use generator to power fridge?
Marc, for the GPS in the 250. Check out Builtright Industries. They make a dash mount for the truck. Couple the mount with some Ram mounts and you would be set. You could also have camera mounts attached also. I think it's something you could really use!
I so enjoy your adventures. I wish I would have been able to do what you are doing with my family. New Zealand has been fanominal, but then so was Mexico, Florida, Alaska. Haha I see a theme here. I'm hoping that we do not have fires up here this year. Or I get an rv so I can leave the smoke behind. Maybe something like the wilderness is what I need for that. Thanks.
I like the following up on RV and experience along the way.RVing is not all just a vacation for some.I'm sure it helps alot of that do it RVing or ones that want to. Keep up great time & videos. I always enjoy when get a chance to watch between working. Lol Hopefully to get out and travel more soon.
love the video you guys are great wish we had more videos but I know it takes a lot to do when will you be coming back to the US keep up the good work safe travels
Very informative videos, we have an upcoming 2 weeks trip to NZ may be I will go for wilderness too. Out of curiosity How you adjusted jet lag, could not find in any of your video.
I haven’t seen an RV model in the US with a manual pull down bed and it looks nicer than the powered beds that come down. The KOA in San Diego has a community kitchen. Maybe KYD could work with a manufacturer on a KYD Travel Edition rig. Those reusable bags look nicer and larger than the ones sold in CA stores, maybe also twice the price. I’ll have to look into Turkish towels.
Laura Baca Don’t hesitate on the Turkish towels. I switched my family over to those many years ago with not one regret .... they are super soft, very absorbent, they roll up easily when traveling, they take just a few minutes to dry via a drier and they also line dry beautifully, and sand doesn’t seem to cling in the fabric. 20 mpg is fantastic. Love the drone shots following the RV and some great shots all around. Would you consider a class C now that you have lived in one for a few weeks? Safe travels guys. Cheers!!!
Class C for full living with teens... probably not, but it's the only way to go in NZ. Perhaps we'd consider it as an empty nester rig or a super C, but not anytime soon.
Keep Your Daydream Super C is a great way to go, but only really available in US. I like the motorhome vs pull trailer , predominantly because you don’t have to get out in the weather when you stop for a break/coffee. It’s all in one, so setup is a lot easier as you also found. The downside is you may choose to tow a small 4wd toad for off-road trips and grocery shopping.
On your F250 do you have the capability for Apple car play or Android Auto? I have an F350 and it has Android Auto, very easy to use with Google maps and even better Waze. No special mount necessary.
Wow! A lot of stuff packed in a small space. I wonder if it will pull my 24' stacker trailer with my toys in it? Keep the rubber on the left side of the road.
Very nice video. The whole trip has been delightful. I was wondering if you could please throw out a ball park figure of the cost air fare rental etc. if anyone is considering it helps put it into perspective. Thanks Gary
Wow, this is so good on every level! I have just started researching RVing in the last month and this is first video of yours I’ve watched and it is bar none the best I have seen on the topic! Also this would be the perfect RV for us with two pre-teen (big) boys and I love your thinking on sleeping arrangement! New Zealand seems awesome too. [subscribed!]
not being sarcastic...I get a kick out of how you call everything a “rig”... i’m from Barrie, Ontario Canada and at least anyone I talk to, referring to travel trailers, we call them trailers...we just bought a Starcraft Autumn Ridge trailer and are about to go on our second vacation with it...been watching and enjoying your videos for a while now...safe travels !!
I know I am late to the party here , but why did they put the door on the right and not the left? When you pull over the kids are existing into traffic. Maybe you did explain an I missed it i apologizes
Marc had me rolling with the "you'll only do it once" while washing his hands! 🤣
Have been twice for about a month each and used Wilderness both times. Love New Zealand and all it has to offer. (Jk'n it prolly is) lol
we in europe normally carry 2 casettes in bigger RV's. Just in case you miss the dumping station. Haven't use my extra casette since 2 years.

Automatic setting that puts the fridge from shore power to propane?! That’s a dream feature!! No more wasted food!
Our last two travel trailers had/have that feature. Push automatic button and connected toshore, it's on electric. Unplug, switches immediately to propane.
Never knew such a feature existed. What a game changer
Our Class C has this feature. We don't even think about it.

@@journey2fifty , we can select gas, AC or auto(matic). (Not different dials, just one push button that cycles through the three different options.)

WIFI was smoking fast. Or streaming fast I should say. Just about everywhere but the remote parts of the west coast and even then it wasn't bad.
Speaking of nav., I can project Google maps to my 2018 rams dash screen from my smart phone thru the USB port. works wonderfully
Wow, tell me more. Is this a feature in your car or something we can do in our F250?
You should have apple CarPlay and android auto in a 17 or newer ford with the large screen. Just plug your phone in through usb and it basically mirrors your phone screen. Most navigation apps work just like on the phone.
Wonderful. You four have convinced Marsha and me to plan on a New Zealand trip within the next few years and Wilderness will be our choice to rent from. As always, thank you so very much. Greg & Marsha Locke
Enjoy your channel. I always look forward to Sundays to see the newest KYD video!
I hope you bring your new recycling habits home with you too! Can’t wait to see your update video on the Grand Design axle problem that causing your severe tire damage.
If you check out the nuCamp Avia or nuCamp Cirrus, you will find a lot of similarities with the New Zealand RV, built in Sugarcreek, OH
Boon docking seems the way to go. Good blessings to you all.
Very informative, I was wondering how all four of you got along in such a small amount of space. see you next week. 😊
Thank you for all the positive comments about NZ
For us, having a 7" android radio in the center dash, connected to a Verizon prepaid hotspot, gives us both the ability to see the route on Waze or on Google Maps. Has worked really well for us in southern AZ, NM and most of TX.
That was excellent, thank you. I really want to do the rv thing in New Zealand.
Hey Marc & Trish
So we have booked a 28 day trip to New Zealand in an RV with a rental company owned by the parents of one of our customers, (Travel New Zealand RV rental) supply you with almost everything but after watching this video we now know that we will have to take a lot more things with us then first anticipated.
Anyways thanks for such a cool and informative video.
Oh and love your new big rig.
Lots of PA State parks have a dish washing area at the comfort stations. They help control how much grey water gets dumped on the ground.
We have found NZ to be like US a few decades ago, so I'd have to guess the construction is better due to having pride of craftsmanship.
New Zealand is a nice place to visit. Very good video for people looking to rent this RV.
This was back to basics. I love it as we decide what we are going to purchase. Great episode
Canadians are huge RV camping aficionados and can run circles around American RV'ers. Plus they know how to behave in the outdoors.
Trish and Mark, thanks for your awesome videos. Trish, are those towels that dry quickly available to buy....thanks
I think you are ready for a Motorhome! Very different having everyone in your truck vs. having them in the RV traveling.
I give you 6 months! 😉
Great trip, thank you for taking us with you!
GOD Bless.
15:01 I will be interested to see what kind of mount you come up with for your phone. I desperately need something too.
You made the Joint Base San Antonio You Tube, great 1.23 minute video. Were less than hour from where I live :)
I hope you all are safe. I saw something about bad weather with flooding.
Trish, my guess is you're missing "Grand Ginger Island"? I wish we had an island at times, we have very limited kitchen counter space...but we make do with what we have no matter what that is, right? 🤓😊
:)
Great walkaround! What's the difference between bed and ceiling in the overhead bed?
Nice to watch this youtube channel lots of fun and greets from Holland
great job, You guys should do RV reviews on others(motorhomes,campers..
"I'm washing my dishes with strangers".🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the video guys😀👍
Very informative!!! These small details are a big deal!!!! Great great job
newbie question on the fridge. how to power the frige while traveling ? run off propane only when the temperature in the fridge gets high vs run it on propane always while traveling and back on power when available or use generator to power fridge?
Lol
Hopefully to get out and travel more soon.
love the video you guys are great wish we had more videos but I know it takes a lot to do when will you be coming back to the US keep up the good work safe travels
Very informative videos, we have an upcoming 2 weeks trip to NZ may be I will go for wilderness too. Out of curiosity How you adjusted jet lag, could not find in any of your video.
Panavise makes a great mount for Adding ram accessories which work great for any device
Glad you guys have enjoyed our country its pretty cool huh. We all love camping here its part of NZ
I have so enjoyed your NZ series. Would you perhaps consider Australia for next winter? ;-)
I have a nephew that was born in Australia decades ago . He's now a married man 1 year already on March 3 RD .
Could you plug your phone into your F-250 and use Apple CarPlay? That's what I do with my iPhone and Ford Fusion.
Came here to suggest this as well.
I can and I have and I didn't think it was very good, but we're going to try again.
Trish giving another screen tutorial. 🤣
Congratulations on 150! Have watched every single one. :-)
Thanks Gary
If your F250 has Sync3 Android auto works great for navigation on the screen.
itc217 not if your using copilot app though
@@AwesomeShamrock Good point I haven't used that
Wow, this is so good on every level!
Looking forward to your return home
And more great vids from North America...Safe travels
You guys are awesome ! Wife and I always look forward to your videos !
Please show the community kitchen facilities. Maybe one day USA adopts the idea.
The only reason I don't have footage of it is because people were there. I didn't want to be the creeper and they were always busy.
lol, always love your videos... looks like the rear window was repaired.. . happy travels
not being sarcastic...I get a kick out of how you call everything a “rig”... i’m from Barrie, Ontario Canada and at least anyone I talk to, referring to travel trailers, we call them trailers...we just bought a Starcraft Autumn Ridge trailer and are about to go on our second vacation with it...been watching and enjoying your videos for a while now...safe travels !!
I know I am late to the party here , but why did they put the door on the right and not the left? When you pull over the kids are existing into traffic. Maybe you did explain an I missed it i apologizes
