Loved your comment about spontaneity while traveling. My wife and I love vacationing on a motorcycle, we have found so many cool things in our travels that we had no clue was there.
I'm with you Marc, I do have a dog at home and can't imagine taking him on the road with us.. Riding bikes, going to exhibits, out for dinner, etc. Who takes care of the dog.. It's better to use someone else's(like you are now) and he goes home with the nice people... lol.

That is a definite yes vote from me on the puppy. After losing a pet I resisted getting another, but it was one of the best choices ever! You just can't beat the "feel good" you get from the love given to and received from a best friend puppy. Do it!

Great vlog. I use to watch a TH-cam family that builtout their own bus from New Zealand “Bus Life NZ” and they visited a lot of the same places that you are stopping at. Very cool.
Unfortunately yes, you did miss a main reason people go to Kaiteriteri-it's the gateway to Abel Tasman National Park, often cited as the most beautiful place in NZ! That's where all those water taxis were going that you saw and filmed on the beach. You can get dropped off and picked up at various places for a pretty reasonable cost, and hike in between along the coast.

Also NZ is the most stunning place I’ve been, just wait till you hit Queenstown! When there do the steamboat dinner trip.. it drops you off at a working farm for a beautiful dinner on the edge of the Lake... stunningly beautiful
We’re not full timers, but we did get a new puppy last September and a week later left on our RV’ing vacation from Minnesota to CO, UT, AZ AND NM and then back home. People thought we were crazy to take her with us, but she did great! We even had a 12 hour travel day going over the mountains in CO and she was a champ. We just made sure we included lots of stops along the way.
Oh yeah the dog, think of it this way Mark you can either train this one to walk up the steps or get one small enough you can carry it in without throwing that shoulder or back out :)
We got a puppy a year ago while full timing in our RV. It actually worked out great, it is like Tricia said you are with them all the time so it was so much easier to potty train and they are use to RV travel works good so here is my 👍🏼🐕

You are so right about spontaneous stops. How many times have we wished we had stopped after passing someplace. We have sold our trailer after living in the Rv and traveling for 12 of the past 15 years. We will try car travel with air bnb and mooch visiting family for awhile. That will allow us some more freedom in spontaneous stops. Enjoying the NZ trip with you.

If a dog is what you wish then a dog it should be. Follow your heart. We just got 2 puppies the end of Nov. They will be joining us in our RV travels very shortly. If you know what you're getting into you'll be fine.

Looks like you two got in some good quality time! It makes me hopeful that eventually my husband and I can spend some good quality time together while we're out on our adventures as well! I LOVE getting to experience the world with our kids, but we've gotta remember were our adventures truly started!
Puppies are fun but they are lots of work. We have two small dogs that travel with us in the RV. There are several things to consider. You have to take them out often when training. You have to leave them in the RV most of the time, just like a regular home, then make sure they have air conditioned RV. You have to come back to the RV because they have to be let out, so that all limits your time outside for sightseeing. So yes dogs are great but be ready for responsibilities. I’m sure you know this. Get the puppy Mark!!! We just got a new puppy and he loves our RV. We love taking him on our walks and hikes. He gets to enjoy a great little puppy life. Somewhere out there is a sweet little puppy who just wants to be a happy little camper Mark. Lol

Dog yes! Check out Whippets (like a small greyhound). They are mid-size, athletic, lovable, and quiet. I have two who love nothing more than to hit the road in the RV.

So funny today. I don’t think that you are ready for a dog. Our dog hindered us in Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone NP and we really need to go again without a pet to enjoy the parks better. Your videos are just so good. Btw, you are missing all of the snow back home. All the mountains around Phoenix are covered with the white stuff. Flagstaff got over 3’ of it.
@@KeepYourDaydream I forgot that these are older than we think. Oh no, did you not plug in your truck? They do have winter diesel fuel additive to prevent gelling. It's the white bottle with the red top at all the truck stops. The DEF tank will freeze, too.

Hi Marc... You know that little yellow button (next to your thumb at the far end of the toilet cassette from the outlet)..? If you push it, it vents the tank as you empty it, preventing the chance of "splashback". (Ooooo... Nasty.) Try it next time you empty the cassette.

When dumping your cassette, press the yellow knob to enable air to come inside the cassette. It enables the blue stuff come out easier :-).
Our dog peed in the back seat of the truck today, so I'm hoping you stay strong, Marc. Fortunately we had some Trish-endorsed wipes.

Golden Doodles are wonderful dogs, we have one and she is highly intelligent and a very good traveler. We take her every where we rv too.
