Provost Park Pass is my favorite Disney TH-cam program. Mr. Provost has a fine broadcasting voice, which helps a lot. His energy, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills gives him the charisma to make his segments fun. The substance of his content shows he cares enough to do his homework, which makes his spiels as interesting as they are informative. Kudos, my friend.
This is the first DL video I've seen that ACTUALLY tells me somthing new. So many "secret DL secrets" videos are out there and anyone who spent a few years with a yearly pass and a cursory bit of knowledge about the park's history already knows. Had no idea abut Walt's fire pole and it makes me feel ashamed that through my many visits, I never went to the firehouse or bothered to learn anything about it...good job yall I just figured the firehouse was basically a "Get Your Feel Special Badge" facility or for lost kids...man, I wish I hadn't ignored it for all these years
It happens to everyone! seeing my 46 old father freeze and raise his hands to his wide-eyed face when he saw Alice and the Mad Hatter was definitely something I'll never forget. I remember having the same reaction when I first saw Jack and Sally.
The Flags on top of the buildings on Main Street actually are technically "Official" since they have the 45 stars and the time period Main Street is set at the turn of the century when there were only 45 stars on the flag.
About the always-on light in Walt's office: I'm told that it's always on *except* when a Disney family member is in the park. It's then turned off as a mark of respect.
Great video! The "shocking machine" at the Penny Arcade is one of our must -do attractions. It was removed for several years around the time they opened up the back of each store front into one mega-store. I am a particular fan of the DLRR. Fitting that they honored Ward Kimball as namesake for an engine; in addition to being one of the "9 old men", he was a train buff that was hired to paint the locomotive engines at Golden Spike National Historic Site in Promontory, UT. The locomotive engines used in the reenactment, Jupiter and #119, were hand painted by Kimball, based on historical photos.
Fun facts...the Magic Shop isn't actually ran by Disneyland Cast Members. It's a 3rd party company that runs it. That and Crystal Arts shop are both ran by private companies and aren't technically even employees of Disneyland. The half/half light isn't actually a light. It's just a plastic cover that goes over the bulb.
When my friends and I went years ago, we managed to catch a horse drawn coach just as the Dapper Dans were hitching a ride. They took our requests while we rode! It was so cool.
I didn't know you could write to cast members, I've had a lot of great experiences with cast members. Next time I go I'm gonna write to a lot of cast members.
Another couple of cool facts about Main Street: The Main Street train station is built true size. The castle is built to scale using forced perspective. In the morning when you enter the castle looks far away due to the scale, and when you leave at night and are tired, the train station being real size makes the distance seem closer. The Street lights at the beginning of Main Street are gas because it keeps with the old times, as you move towards the hub they switch to electric because you are moving forward in time. Love your channel!
It is super impressive you can talk and walk so smoothly!! You have mad skills. I am going next month and I am ALWAYS finding tid bits that not everyone talks about. I bought a Disneyland Tobacco Matchbook at Salt Lake Comic Con from a vendor last year! And I am TOTALLY going down center street next month!! Of all the years I've been to DL I've never been all the way down. Also a fact a local here in Utah, named Cat Palmer, Her grandfather has his name on a window because he worked for Disney for so long. Perhaps you need to do a whole video on the people's names on the windows!!!!
I love watching the secrets revieled videos it makes me feel like im there and forget about Covid-19 it makes me so happy i love you guys and you channel thank you so much 💕 stay safe
I absolutely love your videos! I'm going to be in Disneyland soon, and I can't wait to be there and see everything you're talking about! It's so fun to watch videos like this so I can appreciate all the details that went into making the parks!
Still remember when I was a kid, my dad used to take us yo the old Upjohn pharmacy. My dad worked for the Upjohn company, so when we went to Disneyland, he went to the pharmacy, showed His ID, and he got passes for the Golden Horseshoe show, we got VIP seating and a free metal there and free breakfast at carnation . It was great times!!
Would love to see a more detailed tour of all the shops and attractions in Main Street USA - we walk past them to get to the rides ASAP and then run out of time to have a look on the way out!
@1:12 hey chris, this is actually incorrect , the us code which you can look up later, says that any flag that is similar to the us flag has to follow those guidelines so even those flags with the one missing star would need to lowered or dropped. The thing is that these guidelines are not enforced. The reason they have one less star is because mainstreet is set at the time walt was a little kid and that's how many states there were.
Great video. Every video I watch makes me excited for the day I'll be able to travel to DL and DCA. I'm hoping that day will be sooner rather than later. Are you and the family going to check out Pixar Fest right when it first starts this weekend? If so, I hope you guys have fun.
Love when you told the older gentleman you were spending all day on Main Street and how it was your favorite, it sounded like he says, “alright” like he was super unimpressed. lol
Main Street USA is really amazing once I enter the park, there's shops, food, historic, entertainment, and best of all, the perfect place to watch the parade or fireworks.
1:14 they are flags with around 45 stars and the correct historical 45 star pattern, this is so they represent the historical time that main street, USA is set in. Edit: even if the flags were missing a stripe or something, the Flag Code states that any flag that is readily recognized as the American Flag by a normal Person without second thought, must be treated like the actual flag, same too with historical american flags. The reason why they dont lower them at dusk or to half mast, is that they dont want to. No one has ever been in trouble due to the flag code since SCOTUS declared that violating it (such as desacrating it, not lowering it, etc.) Is protected under free speech. So yeah, thats the T
I love walking down Main Street so much. It really brings back so many memories to when I was 4, I had my very first visit to Disneyland. Great video Chris and I hope to meet you one day!
Thank you for this video !! There’s actually new facts I had no idea about here, rather than the same things I hear from every other video. I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Disneyland and my mom always took me as a kid and I have such beautiful fond memories of this place. I can’t wait to go back and see all of these things myself again !
That was truly informative! It seems like most of these secret information about Disney videos start to share the same things after a while. You put a huge amount of effort into this, thank you!
Great video yet again! Main Street is fantastic! Have you found the old organ that plays by itself in the back of the arcade? I stumbled on it last trip and it was amazing! Can’t wait for your next video, Chris!
I am so lucky to own an exact copy of Walt's Lamp in my home. Just like Walt's lamp, we keep ours lit 24/7/365. We keep it surrounded by prints of ride posters from Disneyland. I hope to add a Plaque of his opening day speech and a "Partners" statue to complete our homage to Walt Disney.
You content is AMAZING! I have spent all night watching so many videos. Kept trying to sleep but always wanted to watch one more. I like a super tired Disney expert now. 😂
Another amazing video!! I loved it. Main Street is one of my favorite spots. I love all the lands but Main Street, New Orleans Square and Frontierland are my top 3. Best time on Main Street is when park opens and the shops are empty and you can enjoy seeing every detail and decorations throughout the shops :). Thank you again for sharing all the fun facts. Oh and Brad has the So Cal Select or the So Cal pass so he can only go to the parks during the week. We all need to plan a visit :)
Ragtime Piano at Refreshment Corner. Haven't yet experienced it in person, but YT videos make it seem like a relaxing place to cool off and listen to some great music. Hopefully it won't be too busy!
I loved this video! Thank you for all your hard work! I learned so much. I have been to DL one time, and after watching your videos i realized how much I missed!
There’s a great little nook about half way down main street where there’s a bench you can sit and enjoy the passing crowd; looks like a store front, but anyone can sit and relax. Me and my GF frequently sit and enjoy some Gibson girl ice cream here during the later hours.
I am not sure if you know about it, or mentioned it in another one of your videos, but there's something interesting about the Disneyland Railroad. The last car (the caboose) is called the Lilly Belle Presidential Parlor Car. It was originally conceived by Walt Disney for entertaining VIP guests by offering them a tour of the park in a much more intimate setting. The Lilly Belle is decorated with mahogany and features stained glass panels, antique furnishings, polished brass lamps and custom made wool carpeting. In order to ride inside you have to be a VIP guest appointed by the Walt Disney Company or a member of Club 33 (or a guest accompanied by a Club 33 member).
The coal town in NE PA where I grew up had a Centre Street and a Main Street as the transecting street. On both the North and South sides of Centre Street the shops and banks were located. Main Street North led to the train station. Main Street South had a grocery and a tobacconist's and, a few blocks further south, were the large houses of the "elite" of the town, sometimes called the "upper 500". With the decline of the coal mines in the 1950s/60s, the town began to die. The streets are still there, but almost all the shops are closed. The restaurant was torn down in favor of a high-rise for geriatrics, and "the upper 500" have closed or sold out their businesses and moved away. It is a nice place to be FROM.
You missed one secret. As far as I know this only applies at Disneyland (I know it does not apply at Magic Kingdom). When you get to Main Street in the morning and you are fresh, the street is long. When you are leaving at night and tired, the street is much shorter. How? Forced perspective. All the buildings at the Town Square end are tall and they get shorter as they approach the hub. Also, the street is about a yard (meter) wider leaving the square than entering the hub. It is really quite impressive once you notice it.Really look down the street entering and then turn around and look back when you get to the hub to see how much the length appears to have changed on your walk.
When I was a kid the penny acarde was an actual arcade, used to play X-men the arcade game there. Also there used to be a theater that would play old Disney cartoons on 3 different screens
The spokes and wheel design wasn't actually designed by Walt. He borrowed it from Paris who had been using it, but he liked it so much that he wanted to use it for Disneyland
I never wake up early enough to enjoy main Street. This video has given me a reason to wake up early! Thank you for making this! Looks like I'll be arriving at the park before 3pm this month!
Thank you for mentioning that they will hold onto your packages. It has always been a hassle carrying them around all day. You just saved me a ton of trouble.
I loved this so much! I cannot believe how much fine detail there is in Disneyland! Also, I was wondering if you happen to know anything about the dinosaurs in the cave you pass through in the train. I remember always being terrified of thm as a kid, but I still don't know if there is a reason behind them, or when they were first there?
I saw the dinosaurs at the 1964 New York World’s Fair! They were part of one of the rides Disney built for a corporate sponsor at the Fair, then moved to Disneyland when the Fair closed. Small World and Mr. Lincoln were also there. I barely remember it all...
Years ago (in the 70s and 80s) we had a friend who worked for Disney (he worked on stuff for Epcot). He told us that the buildings on Main Street are taller at the beginning of the street than they are at the end of the street to give the illusion that the street is longer than it is.
I really enjoy your videos, I have been to Disney but it has been many many years. Next month I am taking my 8 kids for the first time and this info is great. Thank you.
We always rush in to the rides, early in the morning. We save Main Street for the hot afternoons. I have always loved Main Street. So much cool stuff to see. 😀🍹🇵🇭
Fun fact about the Dapper Dans: they'll let you sing with them! If you know any of the old barbershop standards, they know them, too. Just approach them after their set and ask. They're happy to sing with you if they aren't in a hurry to get somewhere else. Here's me with Dans at Magic Kingdom a couple of years ago: th-cam.com/video/6Hl6-ZlQRBI/w-d-xo.html. I'm looking forward to singing with the Disneyland group in a couple of weeks!
Great videos there my friend I have to say it brings back a lot of memories of going to Disneyland as a kid I’m in New England so I go to Disney world now with my daughter but with be making a trip out to Cali to go back to Disneyland with her now after watching your videos. Cheers.
Steamboat Willie is the one film that has always been in Main Street Cinema since 1955. I can't remember when it became all Mickey Mouse. It's probably all video transfer now, but originally the other 5 cartoons were silent Super 8mm prints of Mickey cartoons, at least one of which was first in color! (Mickey's Polo Team I believe) I can remember four of what the six screens showed before the Mickey years: Steamboat Willie, a reel of Disney's Laugh-O-Grams from his Kansas City days, The Great Train Robbery, and a 10 min reel of the 1916 version of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.
One thing we learned going to the Baby Center was go in there and you can fill a water bottle from a water fountain that I swear has the coldest water in the park Beat the heat on a hot summer day
Great video! I just found this channel and I'm glad that I did. I see the famous Ken was your driver on Main Street! Last time I was there, was before you filmed this video and the Main Street vehicles weren't running. I got to see Ken on the train. He is soooo cool.
Just found your channel today, I sub to three others, yours is the best for interesting trivia and must sees.
I did, too, tow yearsd ago, forgot all about it, so March this year, cam back.

I agree....I try to emulate hiss tyle lol.

your distraction and excitement when goofy walked past is so pure 😭😭😭
City hall is also were you can go to get the recipe of a food dish you liked and they print it for you ✨👍🏻
i herd that how awesome
seeing you geek out when characters come out is so damn cute
It happens to everyone! seeing my 46 old father freeze and raise his hands to his wide-eyed face when he saw Alice and the Mad Hatter was definitely something I'll never forget. I remember having the same reaction when I first saw Jack and Sally.

It's one of Chris and Amanda's very first videos.

13:32 "I'm just spending my whole day on Main Street"
The sound of disbelief from driver LMAO

Going back and enjoying some classic Provost Park Pass in Disney Land, can't wait to get back!

This was such a great video!! You’re so articulate and informative. I would love for you to do all of the lands in Disneyland!
Will do!!
Provost Park Pass new to your channel, just found the rest of the videos! Keep them coming! 🙌
Man, Disneyland's got such history. Love it.
I absolutely love your videos! I'm going to be in Disneyland soon, and I can't wait to be there and see everything you're talking about! It's so fun to watch videos like this so I can appreciate all the details that went into making the parks!
Thank you!!! I'm so excited!!
Happy birthday
Love how you rapid fire facts of each land. Great video.
The flag retreat is at 4:30 every afternoon, not 5:00

Would love to see a more detailed tour of all the shops and attractions in Main Street USA - we walk past them to get to the rides ASAP and then run out of time to have a look on the way out!
Stephanie is my FAVORITE cast member. She is the bomb and knows so much about the park. Bob Igor should give her a major raise.
This gut deserves more subscribers
One letter can change everything..
@@gachawizard7977 Boy, you sand a mouthful!
Yep this gut really does
I absolutely LOVE Provost Park Pass videos! Keep 'em coming! :-)
Thank you!!! ☺️☺️☺️ we love doing these videos!
Frank Dennison, RIP, war hero from "Band of Brothers" and 101st Airborne Engineers, built the apartment for Walt above the fire station.
Stephen Wimer I didn’t know this. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️

Great video! I have been on Main Street hundreds of times and never noticed some of the things you talked about in this video.
Wow! I never knew there was so much you could do, and see, and hear on Main St. Will definitely take it in when we go in October.
I've seen this guy at Disneyland. Fun fact: He doesn't wear pants.
XDD
Great video. Every video I watch makes me excited for the day I'll be able to travel to DL and DCA. I'm hoping that day will be sooner rather than later. Are you and the family going to check out Pixar Fest right when it first starts this weekend? If so, I hope you guys have fun.
Provost Park Pass I'm guessing you might he trying both the Lotso and Coco themed Churos 😁
I hope you make it soon!
Love when you told the older gentleman you were spending all day on Main Street and how it was your favorite, it sounded like he says, “alright” like he was super unimpressed. lol
After watching all these videos I'm gonna go back to Disneyland to check out all these things I missed!
The famous Ken 😍
Love, Love, LOVE Main Street so much, its truly one of my favourite spots in DIsneyland. This is a great video!!
Best notification to get in the morning!! Great video as always 👏🏼👏🏼
Wow so much trivia!! I consider myself a Huge disneyland fan but I learned so many new things! You packed it all in!

I love walking down Main Street so much. It really brings back so many memories to when I was 4, I had my very first visit to Disneyland. Great video Chris and I hope to meet you one day!
I love this channel! Main Street U.S.A is one of my favorite lands😀
The mailboxes on Main Street are real too. My brother once used one to pay his cell phone bill.
Thank you for this video !! There’s actually new facts I had no idea about here, rather than the same things I hear from every other video. I’ve been looking for a good channel to help get me hyped for my Disneyland trip coming up and yours Is just what I’m looking for thank you!

Ragtime Piano at Refreshment Corner. Haven't yet experienced it in person, but YT videos make it seem like a relaxing place to cool off and listen to some great music. Hopefully it won't be too busy!
Thanks for these! What a great way to get ready for our trip to DL! You are awesome.
Awe! The famous Ken!!!
our Dunmore High School marching band just went to Disney World and played on St. Patricks Day and I also marched as the banner carrier
I loved this video! Thank you for all your hard work! I learned so much. I have been to DL one time, and after watching your videos i realized how much I missed!
Thanks for giving some love to Mr. Lincoln! My family and I always catch the show.
I have been really enjoying your videos! Keep it up!
Nothing like riding the Disneyland railroad at the end of a long day 😁
There’s a great little nook about half way down main street where there’s a bench you can sit and enjoy the passing crowd; looks like a store front, but anyone can sit and relax. Me and my GF frequently sit and enjoy some Gibson girl ice cream here during the later hours.
I am not sure if you know about it, or mentioned it in another one of your videos, but there's something interesting about the Disneyland Railroad. Your channel is the best!

Yay!!! Have so much fun!!!!

SEEMS I HAVE AN ISSUE!!! I can't go a day without watching Provost Park Park!! I digging into videos 3 years old!
Surprised you don't have 100k subs
Im so glad i found this channel!
When I was a kid the penny acarde was an actual arcade, used to play X-men the arcade game there. Also there used to be a theater that would play old Disney cartoons on 3 different screens
I learned so much watching this vid. thank you!!
The spokes and wheel design wasn't actually designed by Walt. He borrowed it from Paris who had been using it, but he liked it so much that he wanted to use it for Disneyland
Excellent and informative look at Main St ... learned some new stuff. Terrific video!
With the old phones can you call Clarabelle's Cattlelog? (Like if you get the reference).
Yessssss!! These videos are so Epic!
Love all your vids man keep up the good work
this is the cutest most wholesome channel ever :,)
FYI to any nursing or breast milk pumping mom. You can actually ask for a private room at the baby center to pump or nurse your baby privately
Thanks for making Disney extra special.
I love all your post! Disneyland trivia is my favorite pass time. Thank you for sharing your Disneyland knowledge 🎆🏰🎆
I never wake up early enough to enjoy main Street. This video has given me a reason to wake up early! Thank you for making this! Looks like I'll be arriving at the park before 3pm this month!
this is so neat im going to try and remember to check out all these details
Thank you for mentioning that they will hold onto your packages. It has always been a hassle carrying them around all day. You just saved me a ton of trouble.
YES! Do give a compliment. It really helps.
I am a Walt Disney world gal and have never been to Disneyland. Your videos are so informative for my first trip to DL in 2019. Thank you!
This is great! Just found your channel and am glad I did!
Funny watching the young guys behind you @ 5:30 😀. It makes me happy to see young guys not being afraid to have fun at Disneyland.😎
The fine detail says it all. It sets Dland apart.
I saw the dinosaurs at the 1964 New York World’s Fair! They were part of one of the rides Disney built for a corporate sponsor at the Fair, then moved to Disneyland when the Fair closed. Small World and Mr. Lincoln were also there. I barely remember it all...
Dinosaurs were added to the Grand Canyon diorama in 1966
Years ago (in the 70s and 80s) we had a friend who worked for Disney (he worked on stuff for Epcot).
loved the vid i learned so much about main street
3:04 - LOL. Main Street has been remodeled, revamped, rebuilt, rearranged, and significantly altered MANY times since the park opened.
Cheers.
The original park guide books had the Disneyland Railroad as a numbered attractions in each land station.
More of these videos please with more on the budget side please please please
