How do the screen saver files work? I understand one can upload up to 16 per project, but could they be used as a 16 frame animation? Is that how the stiky figure person ridding the wave work in the custom screensaver? It will be so dope to make a small custom animation.
I've been binging and benefiting from this guy's stuff as I just scored big time on a mint 404 Mk II. One thing to add is that under the utility/general tab, you can change your default startup "load project" from "last" to any number of them. At least as of version 4.05 you can. I bet it was not available when he made this video otherwise he would have said, no doubt. So with 4.05 you can boot up to your custom stuff regardless of where you've shut down if you've set it to boot to the project that displays your custom boot-up screen.
It is possible to do this via the sp404 mk2 app without ejecting the sd card. Export your project change the screen saver files and then import it back again
Your videos are very helpful. I have just got a 404 this Christmas and I'm a complete beginner. Something I would like an example of also is a good way to organise a sample library, should I do it by BPM and should I store loops separately to one shots etc.
Yeah it is quite convoluted at the moment. It would be easier if you could just drop all your graphics on the SD card and maybe select which ones you want to use in one of the option menus
Hmm that’s odd. I didn’t need to do that after I updated to make this work. Maybe try formatting the SD card with the SP again if you can afford to or reinstalling the latest software version
Hi, great. I bought your pack but i cant see any existing screensaver in the project file. When i open the picture folder from any project, its empty. Do you have an idea? Thanks in advance. Best, d :)
Thanks a lot for the support! It could be a number of reasons. Have you actually dropped any recordings onto the pads yet? I would suggest giving the guide on the Roland website a read too (its about half way down this page) articles.roland.com/ultimate-guide-customizing-the-sp-404-mkii/
You should do some lives featuring the SP-404MK2 and use time stamps on your tutorials. I found your channel via a shout out from another music content creator AVEMCREE. you have some of the best SP tutorials out there in the TH-cam universe...well done mate
Thanks for the guide and the graphs! One qustion: My SP keeps showing ''SP-404'' before showing the 2 custom graphs. Any idea why this is showing up? I deleted all screensavers and booted the SP up with only 2 graphs on the SD Card but no difference.

I believe it has something to do with the most recent update. I did a factory reset over the weekend and I was able to pull this off.

@@spvidz i figured it out , it was because i was using a micro sd in an adapter. switched to a regular SD and no issues.

people dont know you can get most these images from the nokia screen savers? they are easy t find.
