    I use an iRig Stream which is a bit expensive for what it is but you have better control over levels and can mix in a mic and monitor that as you go, found it really useful for getting beats into the phone…

      Nice yeah would be good to have a bit more control like that. I'm hoping Roland can at least to an update so we can push the USB out volume a bit but keep the headphones low!

    Good and informative videos. I recorded from my iPad via USB-C and it was really efficient. About USB-C charging, it’s all about choices. I’ve been able to use the SP with no batteries via a powerbank, but it has to be USB-C on both ends for that too work. But then you won’t be able to use that USB-C cable for audio pass through, so you’ll either need to use the AA batteries or an AC adapter. I know you probably know that, but just FYI for others. Keep the good vids coming.

      Hello, there is an error in what you say. I have connected the USB-C cable from my MacBook PRO (the one that comes from the factory for power) to SP404-MK2 and it can be used as a power and audio source, since I have sampled perfectly and without batteries, only feeding from the internal battery of my Mac, I hope to help with this information, a greeting

    I use an iRig Pro Duo for this purpose. But an interface like that is also nice since I can record with phantom powered microphones into the 404.
    Because the 404 has no phantom powered XLR inputs, understandably.
    Edit: The only thing that I hate about the 404 is that you can't mute the monitor output when you just want to listen to headphones - when I have my monitors plugged into the 404 and then want to check how my mix sounds in headphones I have to physically pull out the monitor output cables each time, which is really annoying.

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The iRig looks nice but a bit pricey for me to justify. I do think there are some audio routing/level issues to be solved on the MK2 like you've pointed out. I would also like to be able to independently change the volume of the USB out and the headphones so I don't have to blow my eardrums out to get a decent level

    • @simondanielssonmusic
      @simondanielssonmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@spvidz Just for those things I mentioned in that comment, I would agree with you that the iRig Duo can't be justified. But I'm a classical guitarist as well as a hiphop producer, so the iRig comes in useful to record my live concerts and such! More flexibility with the USB out is a shout

      You can do that yes, that's not the problem here. The problem is the output of the USB seems very quiet on the SP. You can't get a good signal without destroying your ears in your headphones. I'm hoping Roland will do an update where you can boost the signal of the USB out.

      Android picks up the sp404 you’d have to have headphones connected to mk2 for playback but believe it’s playing through , for example using my ext in (turntable) it plays through but the process for me is recording a video from camera while the sp404 is connected to phone, after recording is done stop the video and play it back .. instagram notes .. I tried to live stream with a friend but that was tough because the mic from phone was being picked up only because the Ig app interferes since it automatically needs mic for live streams it grabs the phones internal mic , I tried usb tethering but I had a Samsung galaxy note 9 , could be that it’s an older model with the lack of capabilities . However only way around it was buying a splitter , but splitters cause for lack of quality in my opinion .. I guess the I rig is a more quality component from what I hear these past years
