The race was obviously for plot convenience so that Spike, the only wingless dragon on Earth at the time, could have a "chance". Realistically, The DragonLord should have had them all just fight him for it to see which was the most worthy. Or, to give Spike a more magical chance: jam the scepter into the ground and pull a "sword in the stone"/Mjölnir on them. But then the episode would have been over in two minutes.
@@justincarawan-carawanco.pu1639 So true like he said, Twilight is supposed to be a bookhorse with at least half of a brain, but she had to let Spike nearly get killed for the staff KNOWING she could just teleport it to him but she didn’t because the plot demands it.
@btamamura Spike's happiness wasn't what was at stake though. He entered the contest because other dragons were talking about burning and pillaging Equestria, seeing the ponies driven before them and hearing the lamentation of their mares. It is really easy to explain: The scepter "discharges" an ammount of Elemental_Fire magic that is proportional to the "attunement" it had with the previous Dragon Lord (to make "space" for the new link). -> Dragon Lord Torch is HUGE (in fact, almost "Colossal"); while Spike is barely on the "Medium" size category [as per D&D/O&O rules]; so the ammount of energy released is actually quite accurate.

Everything seems barren and not even organized enough to be a *tribe,* but then we get strange, advanced tidbits like Ember's ceremonial-looking armor, the geas that forces dragons to obey the Dragon Lord powered by the scepter, and obviously, the scepter itself. Even the existence of a Dragon Lord in the first place means that somebody must have conquered the dragons to rule them, which is kinda hard if they are as spread out across everywhere as is implied in the current day.

Spike lifting objects several times his own size and weight throughout the series. "No problemo" Spike saving an armored ember from drowning. "I woke!"
I think you underestimate how difficult it is to swim with a body. I can lift my own weight in an emergency, but water makes things so, so much worse. And if they are still conscious, it is very likely that they will flail, making things even worse. Add the fact that she is larger than Spike, and wearing PLATE ARMOR, which weighs about 40-50kg (literally 100 pounds), he's not going to be able to do that. @@allenholloway5109 I know it's difficult, but let's be honest here, Spike is either able to lift a mountain of rocks, or incapable to hold up a book. Depends on how much comedy the writers need from him at the time. And in this episode, spike's strength and skill were the important bits for the writers. Even before getting to the ember drowning part, he already did something outstanding: jumping to the water from the cliff and swim with ease to the gauntlet.

3:00 I actually did that in a DnD campaign, except I was in heavy armor as well. Definitely helped that my character had a 20 in strength and a +11 to athletics. But it just made me laugh at the parallel
The fact that Twilight was cornered at the edge of the ravine by Garble although she was able to fly, shoot magical lasers or cast spells should also be a sin.
You won’t die saving an unconscious person. The drowning people are dangerous while drowning when they try to climb on top of you because they can’t think rationally. Weight in water is also not the same as in land and bodies then to float when unconscious, not sink. Spike just needed to take of her armor.
Okay but the idea of Spike not being able to carry Ember in armour back up to the surface... Isn't this the same Spike that spent his life carrying ridiculously huge amounts of books or luggage for Twilight and Rarity? The show itself supports the idea that Spike is just ridiculously strong for his size or that dragons are naturally really strong like earth ponies. But I also doubt that Ember, who is noticeably smaller and thinner than the other dragons, would weight even that much and the armour has to be light enough for her to be able to wear and fly while wearing so...
Omg I havent been in the mlp fandom since I was in the beginning of highschool. Almost ending my degree in uni now. Crazy I use to binge watch your videos
Plot Twist: Spike is still the dragon lord but Amber was pointed as his regent and that is why all other dragons have to obey Amber but Spike don't. Also explain why Spike's command was still in effect.
Torch said the Bloodstone Scepter has to be retrieved. He didn't say 'find'. The instructions were plenty clear, the contest is over when the scepter is presented to Torch.
Which means all dragons are braindead, because otherwise all of them would wait at the entrance of the volcano, ready to pounce whoever actually found it.

4:06 wilhelm dragon
2:39 marshmallow 😂
The fact that Twilight was cornered at the edge of the ravine by Garble although she was able to fly, shoot magical lasers or cast spells should also be a sin.
Me: *chuckles throughout the whole video*
Ending gag: *Completely unrelated Stock video*
Me: *WHEEZING*
You won’t die saving an unconscious person. The drowning people are dangerous while drowning when they try to climb on top of you because they can’t think rationally. Weight in water is also not the same as in land and bodies then to float when unconscious, not sink. Spike just needed to take of her armor.
6:34 - It's hard to believe that dragons like Gargle, who have holes and tears in their wings could still fly properly.
And it's only racist when rarity talks like that, but neeever when the dragons do, of course...
Garble*
Wait, I just noticed that...
@@justin2308 oh I'm so glad I'm not alone~
Garble: "Dragons don't do friends!"
Me: "Then explain those other dragons you hang out with?"
“That’s racist” one of littleshyFiM’s favorite words to use in this series
3:31 you can crack wise and have fun, but do not dare disrespect Spike in such a manner.
"Completely unrelated stock footage," he says! lol
I mean, Garble wasn't there when power was given to Ember, so we can kinda let that one go.
It’s so nice to see content continue when the show ended
Edit you can also do cinemare wins when you do everything if you want to just saying
I always look forward to this every month
Inb4 someone starts a "Drag Perfect" channel dedicated to Torch trick shots.
I love how for the final sin, you threw the scepter in Crackle's mouth like a blunt
6:47 to 6:56 Maybe it's so much power for a small dragon to have hence why its so big but for other dragons like Ember its smoother?
Omg I havent been in the mlp fandom since I was in the beginning of highschool. Almost ending my degree in uni now. Crazy I use to binge watch your videos
*Thank you so very much for the Upload!*
Plot Twist: Spike is still the dragon lord but Amber was pointed as his regent and that is why all other dragons have to obey Amber but Spike don't. Also explain why Spike's command was still in effect.
First of all, her name is EMBER, and Secondly, the command was still in effect because Ember didn’t tell him.

Harry Potter and the Gauntlet of Fire.
That's literally all i thought when I saw the title.
First time seeing your video . It's so cool Littleshy
You forgot one at 4:07 you hear the roblox death sound from the game shark bite
Something in my head that the outro music was from DOOM 1
Sound like "How to train your dragon" Soundtrack to me
Took me a minute to realize what the stock footage at 7:49 may have been about.
Because Rarity is called a marshmallow? Maybe?
Fun fact: there is a demonic titan gate in the flame Kano but it was closed by spike using the staff so add 2 sins as well
Let's not forget that other dragons CAN defy the Dragon Lord/euserp their power, as seen in Smolder's Harthswarming Eve tale.
isn't spike a child? this seems like unfair odds if we're to assume he's competing against adult dragons
I was legit about to go to sleep. I blame you for my unholy sleep habits
When I first watched this I thought the title was Goblet of Fire and was super hyped for it
"Completely unrelated stock footage" ahaha XD
0:40
I thought you would say make the white pony a racist
Torch said the Bloodstone Scepter has to be retrieved. He didn't say 'find'. The instructions were plenty clear, the contest is over when the scepter is presented to Torch.
Which means all dragons are braindead, because otherwise all of them would wait at the entrance of the volcano, ready to pounce whoever actually found it.
“The Goblet of Fire”
Harry Potter fans towards Bronies: so you have chosen.. death
I mean....sure there's a lot of sins and all but....
I mean consider: ALL the Ember fanart!
Nuff said.
1 sin for every Rule 34 and the like piece of art.
@@timwoods2852 It's over 9000!!!
7:48 OMG 🤣🤣
And thats all fokes
"This is what happened when spike became dragon lord"
Massive boom and rays of light shoots across the sky.
"This is what happened when ember became dragon lord"
*Slide whistle sound effect* 😂😂
4:35 crackle *ding*
I love spike
But I see your points and agree with some of them
I have no outlet for my rage, but in the final battle episode of season 9, they forgot Ocellus when highlighting the other creatures who were taught friendship. I'll always be salty
Ocellus was probably one of the changelings distracting Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow.
@@King_Of_Arkham626 but, in the very next shot she was there with her group of friends shooting a rainbow. So it was probably just an error, but a pretty big one for the finale
@@King_Of_Arkham626 although I think it would be cute that she was helping with the other changelings, but she was with her friends in the unicorns shield in all other shots
6:47 spike is more worthy
0:40 Thought that was speciest.
3:43 doesnt this contradict your previous sin about spike not being able to save ember from drowning?
Nah, saving a person from drowning has nothing to do with strength as mentioned in the PSA 🙂
03:31
"Simp"?
But Spike has a crush on Rarity, not Ember.
Or I just don't understand what "simp" means?
Once the internet starts using a word for a while, it starts to lose all meaning. Simp means nothing anymore
Purple and Marshmallow. THE BEST NEW NAMES FOR THEM!!XD
