No 26: The hair has to come from somewhere, and then they fill the castle with hair, which means there are now an awful lot of bald ponies out there! Also, Derpy's new mane colors made me think of Tridashie. ;D
Well why do you think everyone in Ponyville was using Rarity’s hair style later, obviously Twilight’s spell pulled all their hair off from a few days in the future and gave it to Rarity.
The lengths they had to go to to justify this episode's plot were absurd. In a world where characters can control the weather, the environment, and the heavenly bodies we're supposed to believe that fixing hair is the most difficult magic to perform? Despite that they've used magic on hair in multiple other episodes? What's worst is that there was actually an easy fix they could have used to make it work. They could have said that the potion had soaked into Rarity's skin and was interfering with any attempts to regrow the hair, so they would have to wait until the potion had dissipated for magic to be effective on that part of her body.
My thooughts exactly. "magic cant fix manes" "Objection!" shows when Trixie gave Rarity green hair, there wya mroe mane then was there before. . Or i dont' know, Poision joke when she became Hairity
It feels like a situation where this was just one of many premises submitted to Hasbro, and the writers probably didn't expect it to be approved and only included it to fill the quota. But then it *was* approved and which ever poor writer was given the story had only "Rarity loses her hair" as a starting point and needed to stretch that concept into 22 minutes. I truly do not know how I'd make it work. Maybe just a throw-away line from Zecora that says the effects of her potion can't be undone by Unicorn magic early on, I suppose. It's still a bit contrived, but at least it's a one-time explanation that covers for the rest of the episode's wheel spinning.
I’m assuming Zecora’s remover potion was made specifically for silly string and similar substances, which leads me to believe that pony hair has the same density as silly string Also, wasn’t Zecora able to restore Apple Bloom’s chipped tooth in “The Cutie Pox?” So she was able to regenerate a part of a child’s skeleton, but can’t whip up some solution to regrow Rarity’s hair? Or maybe the Everfree Forest was on its lunch break during the beginning of the episode and decided to be dangerous for the rest of the episode.
@@billykaplan9915 Well, yeah, but I’m saying that if Zecora can figure out a tonic to regrow teeth (which don’t regenerate if damaged like skin does) then making something to speed up the process of hair growth shouldn’t be too far fetched

This episode has some of my all time favorite Rarity quotes! like when she says "Listen spooky eyes, Why don't you take a picture it will last longer" and "Tricky, I know I don't care, Make with the tricks" And the fact that Zecora didn't label the bottles for the shampoo and remover potion kinda reminds me of Yzma from The Emperor's New Grooves since Yzma also had trouble with labeling her potions And the part where that Crystal Pony loses his mane and screams like a girl always makes me laugh, Speaking of which I couldn't believe how much hair Twilight and Starlight teleported with their magic. I mean there was enough of it in the castle to supply a wig factory. I especially loved Punk Rarity. In fact, I can remember so many people instantly adoring Rarity's punk look like any outfit she wore, Rarity pulled off the punk look so perfectly!
The spooky eyes quote is definitely in my top 3 Rarity quotes, along with Rarity's whining bit in Dog and Pony Show and "the gilded pages of your betrayal!". Not that there are any shortage of great Rarity quotes. I think this particular one sticks in my mind as a top quote because it was so unexpected. Pinkie talking to a random background element in such a matter-of-fact way, sure. But Rarity? Didn't see that one coming.

One thing I hated about this episode however was the fact that by the end of it, Rarity was the same. Sure, you can say that she loves her old hair more, but they could've at least kept her punk hair until the end of the episode...
My theory is manes are magic. Like for example whenever they power up into their rainbow forms they get longer hair. Same thing with how powerful alicorns mane's move from the amount of power they have. Ever notice how all the alicorn's manes doesn't move when they gave all their magic to Twilight? But that when Using Alicorn magic Twilight's mane gets all wavy and sparkly like how when she's older?

Daaaamn that episode had so many plotholes! Looks like they went above and beyond just to show Rarity's punk hairstyle.
